Unboxing the iPhone 7: A Closer Look at Apple's Latest Device
Hey guys, it's Stephen C from Macworld, and I'm excited to bring you my unboxing experience with the brand new iPhone 7 in Black. As you can see, this particular model comes with a standard map black finish, rather than the more exclusive jet black option that's become all the rage lately.
When you lift the protective cellophane off the phone, you'll notice that the main contents of the box are slightly rearranged compared to previous iPhone models. Gone is the usual folder housing warranty information and quick start guides, which are now located underneath the iPhone itself. Instead, you'll find a small folder with all the necessary documentation, including warranty information, quick start guides, and Apple stickers.
Moving on to the main events of the box, you can expect to find the standard power adapter, new lightning earbuds, and a lightning to audio jack adapter. The latter is perhaps the most interesting addition in this regard, as it allows you to still use your 3.5mm jack headphones with your iPhone 7. However, I suspect that many of us will lose this adapter in the first week of owning our new phone, so don't say I didn't warn you! The earbuds themselves are pretty much identical to the older EarPods, but they now connect via lightning rather than traditional audio jacks.
As you flip open the box, you'll find a standard USB to lightning cable and all the quick start guides that come with your new iPhone. It's worth noting that Apple has made some changes to its packaging in recent years, so this is an opportunity for us to get familiar with the new layout.
Now, let's take a closer look at the iPhone 7 itself. As you can see, it's pretty much identical to the iPhone 6 and 6S in terms of design, although there are some notable differences that we'll get into shortly. The biggest giveaway is probably the missing headphone jack, which has been replaced with a larger speaker grill. This change may not be immediately noticeable, but I think it's a great example of how Apple is constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Speaking of innovations, one of my favorite new features on the iPhone 7 is the pressure-sensitive home button. Gone are the days of a traditional touchscreen button; instead, we now have a device that responds to your touch with haptic feedback and three distinct strength settings. While it may take some getting used to, I think this change will ultimately make for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Of course, no new iPhone would be complete without the camera, and the iPhone 7 delivers in spades. We're now up to a whopping 12 megapixels, with an improved quad LED flash that makes taking photos in low light much easier. I took some quick shots during my unboxing process, and the results look fantastic – sharper, more vibrant, and just overall more impressive than ever before.
Another welcome change is the presence of optical image stabilization (OIS) on the iPhone 7, which is now available on all models rather than just the plus. This feature does an excellent job of smoothing out those jerky camera movements that can often ruin an otherwise great photo.
One area where the iPhone 7 doesn't stray too far from its predecessors is in terms of design and dimensions. While Apple has tweaked things slightly to make it a bit more compact, we're still looking at a phone that's almost indistinguishable from its older siblings. However, I think this is a good thing – consistency is key when it comes to user experience, after all!
Finally, let's talk about the all-important chip under the hood: the A10 Fusion. This new processor is twice as fast as its predecessor, making for snappier performance and more efficient battery life. It's an exciting development that will undoubtedly make a big difference in your overall iPhone 7 experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up guys stepen C of Mac here and I have got the brand new iPhone 7 in Black to unbox not the jet black just the standard map black as the jet black one is a bit like gold dust at the moment and as you can see I've got the 128 gig model so let's get unboxing so on top you've got the little folder which usually houses all of the warranty information and quick start guides which is usually underneath the iPhone so that's a bit of a change there and then underneath you've got the main events the iPhone 7 also in the Box you've got the standard power adapter along with the new lightning earpods which are surprisingly in a card box this time around as opposed to the usual plastic Box flip them over and you'll find the lightning to audio jack adapter so you're still able to use all of your 3.5mm jack headphones but I'm pretty sure most of us will lose this adapter in the first week opening up the airpod themselves you'll find that they're pretty much identical to the older Earp pods but of course these now connect via the lightning Port you've also got the standard USB to lightning cable and as I mentioned all of the quick start guides Sim ejection tool warranty information and Apple stickers but let's get to why you're really watching this video for the iPhone 7 so peeling off the protective cellophane you'll see it's pretty much identical to the iPhone 6 and 6s of course the big noticeable difference is the missing headphone jack which is being replaced with a larger speaker Grill comparing the new stereo speakers side by side with the iPhone 6s you can rarely hear a noticeable difference it's not going to replace any Bluetooth speakers anytime soon but it's definitely a huge Improvement of course another new change is the new home button which is no longer a moving part instead it's a pressure sensitive pad that provides haptic feedback I can tell already that it's going to take a little bit of time to get used to but thankfully it has three strength settings which on the strongest setting helps it to feel a little bit more like a real button on the back you'll find the new 12 megapixel camera with an improved quad LED flash I took some quick shots and the camera appears to Look a Lot sharper in low light and colors seem to be more accurate and balanced and of course it's now got the optical image stabilization on the 7 as opposed to being exclusive to the plus models which does a really nice job of smoothing out those jerky motions as I mentioned there's not much of a physical difference from the 6 and the 6s but those ugly antenna lines have now been moved to go around the top and on this Black Version they're barely noticeable which is really nice also the front-facing camera has gone from a 5 megap up to a 7 megap camera so your selfie game is definitely going to improve the iPhone 7 is slightly lighter than the 6s not a really noticeable amount but it's exactly the same dimensions what's not the same is the new A10 Fusion chip within the iPhone 7 making it twice as fast as the iPhone 6 the screen on the 7 is now 25% brighter than the previous model and has a wider color gamut which basically means the screen has a wider range of colors to use to create a more accurate image but the first thing I notice is the screen is a lot warmer overall well that's it for this video but if you enjoyed it go ahead and hit that like button and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss the unboxings for the Apple watch which will be online shortly the 7 plus when it
