**My Christmas Planner**
When it comes to decorating my home for Christmas, I love getting creative with lights and decorations. This year, I decided to create an Advent calendar using a plain planner that I felt had potential. The front of the planner was uninspiring, but I saw an opportunity to turn it into something special.
I started by stringing up some Christmas lights around the room and then thought it would be fun to make this planner look like it too. This is essentially going to be my Advent calendar, where I'll write in each day's activities, treats, and traditions. I haven't added any sticker letters yet, but once I do, it will become a beautiful and festive decoration.
The back of the planner is simple, which I liked because it had all these words and designs that felt like they belonged together already. I didn't want to mess with perfection, so I just left it as is. However, after being inspired by this Advent activities calendar from Polka Dot Posy, I realized that I needed a way to organize my daily tasks and keep track of what I want in each Advent bag.
To solve this problem, I created the "Advent Activities Calendar" tab, where I can write down what I want in each day's bag. This is part of the Polka Dot Posy insert, which I just thought would fit perfectly with my vintage theme. The tab itself is made up of a cute image, some Washi paper, and layered scrapbook pieces. I also added a little notepad that came from the Target dollar spot for a dollar - I peeled out a few pages and hole punched them to create this fun tab.
Next, I created several "Basics" tabs, which are essential elements that I had to include in my planner. The "Traditions" tab is one of my favorites - I love this image and decided to cut it out and layer some other scrapbook pieces on top. I also added a green Washi strip to give it some extra flair. On the back of this tab, I have a fun deer design that I just can't resist, as well as a little notepad that came from the Target dollar spot.
To keep track of our family traditions, which are so important during the holiday season, I created a "Traditions" section where I'll write down what we do each year. This includes opening one gift on Christmas Eve, playing Clue by the tree, and watching movies together. Eventually, when my daughter is older, she can look at this section and see what our traditions were over the years.
I also want to keep track of the ornaments we hang on the tree each year, as well as any special activities or outings we do during Advent. This will be a fun way to reflect on our past holidays and create new memories with my daughter.
To complete my planner, I added a zipper pocket from Doki Book that came with my order - it was only $50 cents or $1! I filled this pocket with some of my favorite images that I haven't used yet, as well as some fun stickers and goodies. Next to the zipper pocket is a ruler from Doki Book, which I thought would be useful for measuring things.
Finally, I added a little CLA sign that says "Always believe something wonderful is about to happen" - this is perfect for my planner, don't you think? On the opposite page is a plastic divider and a little notebook list pad from Target dollar spot. I took some of it out because it was too thick, but I love having extra writing room.
**Flip Through My Planner**
If you're looking to create your own Christmas planner, I encourage you to take inspiration from my vintage theme. Browse through Google for images that speak to you and find the ones that make you happy - they'll be perfect for your planner. You can also use scrapbook paper or other materials that you have on hand.
As I flipped through my finished planner, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and joy. This is going to be such a special tool for me during the holiday season, and I know it will become even more meaningful as time goes on.
