2024 Acura ZDX Pricing – Too Expensive or Makes Sense

The Acura ZDX Returns: Pricing and Features Revealed

Acura announced the rebirth of the ZDX last year, and now that it's finally arriving on dealer lots, we have the official pricing information. The question on everyone's mind is whether Acura is asking too much for this premium near-luxury electric SUV.

The ZDX comes in two trims: the entry-level ZDX aspec, which can be had with a single motor rear-wheel drive or dual motor all-wheel drive configurations. The single motor starts at $64,500, while the dual motor model is just $4,000 more at $68,500. However, prices do not include destination and handling fees, so keep that in mind.

Next up is the Type S, which is a dual motor all-wheel drive-only model available with or without an upgraded wheel and tire package. The base price of the Type S starts at $73,500, while the upgraded version is just $1,000 more at $74,500. It's worth noting that these prices do not reflect any potential tax incentives that may be offered.

Acura is also offering three options with respect to an included charging package. The first option includes a home charger setup installation, which comes with a $500 credit towards the cost of installation and another $100 credit for charging with EVO Chargers. You'll also receive 60 kWatt hours of charging with Electrify America, equivalent to half a full charge. The second option is slightly more expensive, offering a $250 credit towards home charger install and $300 worth of credits with EO, along with the same 60 KW hours with EA. The third option is for those who already have a charger at home, offering no installation credit but $750 to spend with EVO Plus plus the 60 kWatt hours with Electrify America.

Acura has also set up a website called Acura home electrification, which serves as a marketplace to find certified installers in your area. You can also use this platform to find installers for solar, home battery systems, and Smart Energy Management Solutions, if you want to go deeper than just a home charger.

When it comes to the actual price of the ZDX, the reviewer thinks that Acura has come in slightly under their expectations. This is likely due to the fact that this is a premium near-luxury electric SUV, which typically commands a higher price point. However, when you consider that last sentence alone feels like it costs money just to say it, it's clear that the ZDX is still a significant investment.

The aspec model makes 340 horsepower with its single motor rear-wheel drive setup, and while it will make more power with the dual motor configuration, Acura isn't revealing those exact numbers yet. Regardless of the horsepower, the Type S model boasts an impressive 500 horsepower and comes equipped with 15.6-inch front Brembo brakes and adaptive dampers that move torque to exactly where you want and need it.

Interestingly, the reviewer notes that the ZDX's performance might even rival Porsche's upcoming Macan EV, which will undoubtedly be a more expensive option. However, in the context of a super sporty electric near-luxury SUV, the Acura ZDX's price is actually quite reasonable.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe ZDX returns well you already know that bit Acura announced the rebirth of the ZDX last year but now it's about to arrive on dealer lot so we finally know how much this thing is going to cost and I'm curious if you think it's priced right or if Acura is asking too much let's get to the price structure right up front there are two trims and two motor configurations the entry point is the ZDX aspec and you can have this as a single motor rear wheel driver or a dual motor with all-wheel drive the single motor starts at $64,500 and the dual motor is just 4,000 more at $68,500 and all the prices I mentioned today do not include destination and handling so keep that in mind next up is the type S this one is dual motor all-wheel drive only but Acura offers it with or without an upgraded wheel and tire package without starts at 73,500 and with is just 1,000 more at 74,500 those prices also do not reflect any potential tax incentives that may be offered another interesting bit to consider is that Acura is offering three options with respect to an included charging package as well the first option is for a home charger setup to be installed this includes a $500 credit towards the cost cost of installation plus another $100 credit for charging with EVO Chargers you also get 60 kwatt hours of charging with Electrify America which is like half a full charge but whatever the second option is a $250 credit towards a home charger install $300 of credit with EO and that same 60 KW hours with EA finally the third option would be for those who already have a charger at home so no credit for an installation but $750 to spend with EVO Plus plus the 60 kwatt hours with Electrify America Acura has a website set up called Acura home electrification which I'll link in the description below this serves as a Marketplace to find a certified installer in your area you can also use it to find an installer for solar a home battery system and Smart Energy Management Solutions so if you want to go deeper than just a home charger you can do that out of curiosity I use the system to see what a battery setup for my home would be since I already own solar on the roof and I have a charger in my garage and my estimate was $36,000 so I'm good for now back to the price of the ZDX though as I asked the question at the beginning of this video do you think it's priced well or is it too high I actually think this came in a little under what I would have guessed especially since this is a premium near luxury electric SUV that last sentence alone feels like it cost me money just to say it so when Acura offers up a vehicle with pretty cool style a nice interior and solid EV credentials I expect a high number the aspec model makes 340 horsepower with that single motor rear wheel drive setup it will make more with the dual motor but Acura isn't saying how much just yet regardless if it's near 400 horsepower it's pretty awesome move to the type S and you have a ZDX with 500 horsepower 15.6in front Brembo brakes adaptive dampers in what I assume will be a fantastic all-wheel drive system that moves torque to exactly where you want and need it and we have quite a compelling machine here it almost sounds like the same numbers I expect Porsche to announce for its upcoming Macan EV this ZDX Type S might even have the same or more powered compared to the Porsche minus whatever Turbo S version they come out with and we can be sure that the Porsche will cost much more so I'm pleasantly surprised with the Acura ZDX pricing announcement yes it's expensive compared to your average vehicle but for a super sporty electric near luxury SUV that's not that badthe ZDX returns well you already know that bit Acura announced the
