The Extraordinary Things I'd Give Up to Be Friends with My Favorite Authors

As a self-proclaimed bookworm, I have always been fascinated by the lives and works of my favorite authors. In this article, I'll share with you some extraordinary things that I would be willing to give up if it meant being able to spend time with them.

I must confess that I'm a bit of an Harry Potter fanatic. I mean, who isn't? I've read all the books multiple times, and I can recite entire passages from memory. But what would really make my day is if I could sit next to one of the authors at a book signing event or a literary festival. My dream author to meet would be Sarah Desen, an author whose books I love for their unique blend of humor and insight into human relationships. I think she's kindred spirits - we both love all things pop culture and are not afraid to speak our minds. If I could spend an hour talking with her about anything from Harry Potter to the latest trends in pop music, I would be absolutely thrilled.

Another author who holds a special place in my heart is Ernest Cline, the genius behind Ready Player One. This book has been on repeat for me since I finished it - I just can't get enough of its nostalgic 80s vibe and clever exploration of virtual reality. If I could sit through a thousand hours of commercials to ensure that Hollywood makes this book into a movie, I would be more than happy to do so. Can you imagine the epic trailer? The cast of up-and-coming actors who would bring these characters to life? It's like my dream come true. And while it might seem like cheating, since they already have acquired the rights to adapt the book into a film, I just can't help but hold out hope that one day we'll see this movie on the big screen.

But what about some of the more obscure authors who haven't quite made it to the mainstream yet? That's where The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater comes in. While it may be harder for Hollywood to adapt books like these into movies, I think they're just as deserving of attention and adaptation as any other work. There's something so beautifully haunting about Stiefvater's writing style that I think would translate incredibly well onto the big screen.

For those of us who are a little more...imagination-driven, living in the world of our favorite books can be a tantalizing prospect. And let's be real - wouldn't it be amazing to just step into the pages of Harry Potter and live out a whole year within the magical realm of Hogwarts? I mean, can you think of anything better than being a part of that wizarding world? I didn't think so.

When it comes to romance, there's one book series that always makes my heart skip a beat: The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth. Okay, this might be a bit of a departure from the usual authors I'd be willing to spend time with - but hear me out! While I've been loyal to this series for years, there's one character in particular who has won my heart: Tobias "Four" Eaton. If I could donate everything I own to Goodwill just so I could date him in real life (yes, you read that right), I would do it without hesitation. Can you imagine the swoon-worthy dates we'd have? The deep conversations about dystopian fiction and social justice? I'm already getting butterflies thinking about it.

on the internet so it's going to take a heck of a book to make me give up internet so for that I put any Harry Potter book any one of them a freaking signed first edition of them I would gladly stay off the internet for a month like it would be hard but I'm like I have this beauty it would be the best ever any of them I don't that's how unpick I am when it comes to Harry Potter any of the Harry Potter folks number two is I would give up pizza fore year if it meant I could sit next to this author on a long plane ride um Pizza is hard I like pizza but I don't love pizza I'd say giving up pasta would be harder because I love pasta but the author I picked for this one is Sarah desen and the reason why I picked her and not like Jakey rolling or something because I think feel like Sarah deson is just kind of a person like she's kind of similar to me I love all of her books I devoured her latest books say anything and I would just love to chat with her like which one of her favorite books of hers is like which one of her books is her favorite that she's written you know what's her ideas how did she come up with books I think I would just really Bond well with Sarah dtin and the fact that she lives like in my sister state I'm pretty sure she would Liv in North Carolina so I'm like we're both southern girls let's let's talk it out question number three is I would sit through a thousand hours of commercials if I can ensure that Hollywood made this book into a movie and this is kind of cheating because they already are but it's feels like it's been like 20 years since they have bought the copyrights to this movie so I'm like I feel like it's going to get made but it's never going to get made and that is ready player one by Ernest Klean I ever since I finished that book I was like this needs to be made into a movie right now it would be amazing but I've heard that stepen Spielberg has picked up on that so I'm like that's going to be epic so and putting that in there also another one is the Raven boy from Magie stot it would be a hard book to translate but I think it would be interesting and I would I would love it because I love both of those books ready player one would be an amazing movie like I think everyone would love that movie and I would just be like fangirling out when it when the trailer comes out if it ever does number four is I would never read a new book again if it meant I could live inside this book that's a big feat too I'll never read another book um Harry Potter okay if I could live inside of Harry Potter's World I would be happy as a clan don't number five is I will let my Google search history made be made public and it meant I could be best friends with this author I want to see JK rolling but I don't want to be this too much Harry Potter I'm going to sayb roll prob rainbow roll probably I mean that'd be a hard fee is get letting your Google search history be made a public because let's be honest all of us type probably some weird things in Google search history and then sometimes when I'm doing it I'm like man if my search history became public people would think I'm a lot weirder than I already am let's be real
