Galaxy K Zoom SM-C111 Unboxing and Hands On Look

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom: A Review of Its Features and Capabilities

One of the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is its camera. The device comes with an impressive 10x optical zoom, which allows users to capture high-quality images from a distance. However, this feature can be a bit finicky, as it requires some setup before use. The camera app itself is pretty standard, with options for auto mode, manual mode, and a few other features like beauty face and low light mode. But what really sets the K Zoom apart is its ability to update the camera firmware wirelessly. This feature is still in beta, but it's exciting to see Samsung pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology.

In terms of usability, the device seems fairly responsive. The user interface is smooth and seamless, with no noticeable lag or slowdowns. Scrolling through menus and browsing the web is a breeze, and even tasks like panning across images don't feel sluggish. This is especially impressive considering that the device has a relatively low-resolution display at 720p. However, it's worth noting that this display doesn't seem to be affected by the lack of high definition, and the image quality on the screen is crisp and clear.

Another feature that sets the K Zoom apart from other smartphones is its camera studio app. This app allows users to edit their images or videos in a variety of ways, including adding text, filters, and effects. The results are impressive, and it's clear that Samsung has put a lot of thought into creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface for this app.

In terms of storage and performance, the device seems to be quite capable. The 16GB internal storage is plenty enough for most users, although those who need more space may find themselves running low on room soon. However, with the addition of a microSD card slot, it's easy to expand storage capacity as needed.

One feature that we found particularly interesting was the ability to use the volume rocker as a zoom control. This allows users to quickly and easily adjust their image size without having to tap through menus or use complex controls. We also appreciate the inclusion of features like wind cut and remote viewfinder, which make shooting photos in certain situations much easier.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom seems like an impressive device that's well-suited for photography enthusiasts and casual users alike. Its camera is one of the standout features, and with its advanced zoom capabilities and user-friendly interface, it's clear that Samsung has put a lot of thought into creating a device that's easy to use and fun to play with.

A Look at the Device's Features

As we take a closer look at the device, we can see some other interesting features at work. The magazine UI is a nice touch, allowing users to quickly access their favorite apps and features without having to navigate through menus or home screens. And with the addition of the studio app, it's easy to create and edit images in a variety of ways.

One feature that we found particularly useful was the ability to use the phone as a stand for watching videos or browsing the web. The soft rubber back provides a comfortable grip, and the camera lens can be used as a makeshift kickstand to prop up the device. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works well enough.

We also appreciate the fact that Samsung has included some thoughtful touches throughout the device. For example, the phone comes with a battery life indicator, which helps users gauge how much power they have left before needing to charge again. And with the addition of features like low light mode and beauty face, it's clear that Samsung is committed to creating devices that are easy to use and fun to play with.

A Quick Look at YouTube

As we're reviewing the device, I thought it would be a good idea to take a quick look at some video content. I'll just jump into YouTube and see what we can find.

(After jumping into YouTube)

As you can see, this is a teaser for an upcoming video on "Let's Talk Shop" with Samsung. It seems that the device is going to receive some exciting updates in the near future, so we'll have to wait and see how these changes affect the overall user experience.

An Interview with Someone from Samsung

We had the chance to speak with someone from Samsung about what they're excited about with this new device. When asked what's great about the Galaxy K Zoom, they mentioned that they love the camera features, particularly the ability to update the camera firmware wirelessly. They also appreciate the fact that the device has a soft rubber back and comes with some thoughtful touches like the battery life indicator.

One question we had was whether Samsung would be releasing an app that allows users to open the lens as a stand for the phone. While there wasn't a definitive answer, it's clear that this is something that many people would find useful. With a glass cover on top of the lens and a kickstand built-in, it seems like this feature could be implemented in some way.

The Verdict

Overall, we think that the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is an impressive device that's well-suited for photography enthusiasts and casual users alike. Its camera is one of the standout features, and with its advanced zoom capabilities and user-friendly interface, it's clear that Samsung has put a lot of thought into creating a device that's easy to use and fun to play with.

While there are some minor drawbacks, such as the relatively low-resolution display, we think that these can be overlooked in favor of the many positive features that this device offers. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or just looking for a reliable smartphone, the Galaxy K Zoom is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's happening guys.in and today I'm going to be unboxing the new Samsung Galaxy K Zoom now this device is Samsung's attempt yet again to enter into the camera phone market space uh with essentially a camera that is also a phone uh the design on this one is much more mature than previous generation of the Galaxy Zoom and uh the pricing on this also seems right with it being available for around 29,000 rupe uh presently only on amazon.in uh with some special offers which you get freebies worth 6,000 rupees the MRP on the box is 34990 let's go ahead and unbox this so there it is the first thing inside the box is uh the Galaxy K Zoom I'm going to put that to the side and I'm going to go further in I get a quick start guide the standard Samsung travel adapter INE style earphones from Samsung these are pretty decent nowadays uh they come with an inline microphone as well as volume controls you get a US USB to USB 2.0 cable you get additional ear tips for your earphones so depending on what kind of or what size of ear you have you can change these out and last but not the least actually last but the most important is the battery pack which is a 2430 mamp battery pack so I'm going to put all these things aside and I'm going to take a look at the device itself okay so this ladies and gentlemen is the new Samsung Galaxy K Zoom it is running a hexacore uh chipset uh combination we have a dual core 1.7 GHz 815 processor along with a quad core 1.3 GHz A7 processor uh which is a low power processor and uh we do have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage along with micro SD card expandability up to 128 GB now the display on this is the biggest disappointment according to me it's a 720p display uh with uh a 1280 x 720p resolution and it is a 4.8 in display so uh not the best quality display uh even though it is a Super AMOLED display so that's good I'm just going to quickly run you through uh the device uh real quick so over at the front you have a 2 mapel camera along with the earpiece uh two touch capacitive buttons along with the home button at the bottom and you have a micro USB charging data syncing Port along with the main microphone on the right side you have the camera shutter button along with the power power button and the volume rockers on the top is the 3.5 mm headphone jack and on the left side is a lanyard connection point along with the micro SD card slot for hot swiping the micro SD card on the back is the PS the resistance it's the 20 map sensor with 10x optical zoom you do have a 1 over 2.3 in sensor on this so it's not the best sensor that you can get uh but it is a pretty decent sensor it does 1080p video at 60 frames per second and it's quite a Pity actually because uh Samsung had the capability and they could have added 4K video on this with Optical limit stabilization which would have made it really a killer package for a lot of uh people who like to shoot video you have a Zenon flash over here you can see the SIM card slot is also over here you it takes in a mini SIM card not a regular size SIM card so just like the Galaxy S5 you get this dotted pattern uh which may be appreciated by quite a lot of people because on this it is a soft touch uh gives you a lot of grip to hold the camera as well I think it's it's it's a great uh feel this material and it doesn't look half bad according to me on this or at least in this color it looks pretty decent let me quickly turn this on I'm just going to quickly run through this setup process so I'll set all of that later I'm just going to quickly jump in you do get 50 GB of Dropbox storage for 2 years uh so you can sign in with your existing account uh and get that I'm just going to quickly do that so once you do that it's going to ask you if you want to automatically upload uh files to Dropbox I don't want to do that so I just cancel that give the device a name if you want to do that I'm just going to run with the default name and then it loads up into Android right here you can see magazine UI uh laid out over here it's the new Samsung ux um assumptions aside I believe this is running Android 4.4.2 that's right it's running Android 4.4 to Kit card out of the box uh so that's good and you should see a software update on this as well you can see a slightly thick bezel around the device it looks like one of the old school uh S Series phones actually looks like the S2 quite a lot because of the rounded bottom bit so it's a mix of uh usage uh capabilities it's already updating the camera firmware so it's asking us to wait it open the lens for a second and then it closed it uh I'm going to go back into Android okay so now my lens is out it seems that it's worked so now you can use the volume rocker to zoom in and the lens also uh Zooms in optically uh which is a good thing uh pretty decent camera interface it's the usual Samsung thing but it's much more responsive than the previous generation as well you also have something called Pro suggest which will tell you what kind of mode you should be in um you have programmed Auto you have beauty face a short end more so it lets you repeat uh several shots they give you an example you have a panorama mode a virtual tour HDR Etc uh you also have a selfie alarm mode which might come in handy for a lot of folks nowadays apart from that you have your general set of uh settings over here for the camera application you can set your movie size UH 60 FPS is what it records at which is pretty decent actually you also have a wind cut for your uh noise and you can also turn on remote view finder uh for that you also have multi motion so you can get multi motion you can slow down your footage Etc all in the camera application we look at that in depth when we are done reviewing the device uh it also has this camera studio application which lets you quickly jump into the camera and the pro suggest mode directly from uh the main uh window over here the display is pretty vivid for being a 720p display so uh no problems with that uh the magazine UI over at the left if I jump into all applications you'll see a usual set of applications over here so no uh extra set of bloww but there is a big uh bunch of things over here you also have the studio app that allows you to use your images or video uh to create uh some fun things uh so photo studio College Studio short andm video clip studio and a video trimmer as well so you can do some basic editing on the phone itself in terms of usability the device seems fairly responsive if I jump over to again so you'll see that uh it's fairly smooth the user interface scrolling seems to be pretty smooth as well uh I think they've managed to more or less remove lag from uh the basic browser interface uh you can pan around the lag has been reduced to quite an extent and uh you can convert from uh portrait into landscape you'll continue to see a slightly smooth motion over here so that's pretty good I'm going to try and jump into YouTube and quickly play a video for you guys so this is a teaser for the upcoming let's talk shop with Samsung what's happening guys this is bat npal and Welcome to our next edition of let's talk shop and where we've been talking to a lot of people and it's you know usually easier to speak to the president or the prime minister of India but speaking to this guy tell me what's great in this tablet and why are you guys excited why has Samsung stuck on with so it seems that the display is pretty good so the speaker is pretty good what I would have actually liked is since they already have a glass cover on top of the lens as well it would have been interesting if they could have used uh the camera lens to behave as a stand for the phone that would have been pretty awesome you know like if you could just do this but when the lens is open you really can't uh go into your uh usual set of things but it would have been really nice you would have had a inbuilt kick stand thanks to the lens because they have a glass cover over the lens as well so there's no uh problem with the fact that uh it the lens can get damaged you can usually just set this down as a kickstand so you have an inbuilt kickstand I hope somebody comes up with an engenious app to just open this lens uh while uh you're using uh possibly a movie player or something for this device because then you have a phone with a soft rubber back with a kick and inbuilt um thanks to the fact that you have a pretty decent camera lens over here which Zooms in zooms out so there you go guys this was a quick look at the new Samsung Galaxy K Zoom uh this device will be reviewed soon enough on I again so stay tuned for that if you have any questions or queries we'll be doing a special uh video section for this uh probably go outdoors and do a quick shoot bearing in mind that it's hot like hell outside right now but we'll try and do a quick shoot for you guys so uh thank you for watching this has been B nakal I'll see you in the next one\n"
