Sony Handycam HDR-CX150 - Unboxing and Tour

**Unboxing and Exploring the Sony HDR-CX150 Handycam**

As I begin to unbox my new Sony HDR-CX150 Handycam, I notice that there is no GPS and no accessory mount for the top, which means I won't be able to attach any extra lights or accessories. However, upon closer inspection of the camera's side, I see that it has a black pearl finish available in other colors such as red and blue. On the back, I find a dock for the battery and an AV input.

**Camera Components and Features**

Upon opening the door on the back of the camera, I find a jack for the AV cables that came with the Handycam, as well as the dock for the power cable. This allows me to connect my camcorder to various devices such as TVs or computer screens. The component cables that came with the Handycam are designed specifically for this model, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

**Built-in Features and Controls**

As I examine the camera's controls, I find a built-in charging light that indicates the charge status while it's plugged in. The start/stop button is also present, allowing me to control the camera's power. Additionally, there is a little built-in Sony strap on the bottom of the camera, as well as a mounting bracket. This enables me to securely attach the camcorder to a tripod or other stabilizing device.

**Memory Expansion and Image Capture**

The Handycam features two slots for memory expansion: an SD card slot and a memory stick Pro card slot. This allows me to expand the camera's storage capacity, giving me more flexibility when recording video or taking photos. The built-in 16 GB NAND flash drive is also present, which provides additional storage space.

**Viewing and Recording Capabilities**

The camera has a 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD display, allowing me to zoom in on subjects or record footage with ease. When the lens cover is closed, the camera automatically turns on, ready for use. The screen swivels to allow for smooth panning and tilting, making it ideal for capturing dynamic scenes.

**Recording Modes and Settings**

In video mode, I can switch between various recording modes using the physical button on the side of the camera. These modes include face detection, spot metering, and smile detection, among others. When in photo mode, I can use the touchscreen display to access additional settings such as scene selection, self-timer, exposure, and more.

**Additional Controls and Features**

On the front of the camera, I find a lens with stereo left and right microphone inputs, allowing me to capture high-quality audio along with my video or photos. A little switch on the top controls the lens's opening state. Additionally, there is a mode button that cycles between video and photo modes. When this button is pressed, the mode currently selected is highlighted.

**Power and Storage Options**

The camera has a power button located on the front, which allows me to turn it off when not in use. This feature can be useful for conserving battery life. On the bottom of the camera, I find a lever that releases the battery, making it easy to swap out or recharge.

**Connecting to External Devices**

The Handycam has an HDMI output, allowing me to connect it to a high-definition screen at 1080P or lower resolution. However, unfortunately, this output is not included in the camera's packaging. I do have one included, which can be connected to an HDMI input on my TV or other device.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the Sony HDR-CX150 Handycam offers a range of features and controls that make it an excellent choice for recording video and taking photos. From its user-friendly interface to its advanced features like face detection and smile detection, this camera is designed to provide high-quality output in various situations.
