### A Day with Elgen’s Modified Nissan S13 240SX: A Drive You’ll Never Forget

#### Introduction

In this video, we join Elgen and his friend for an exciting ride in Elgen’s highly modified 1995 Nissan S13 240SX. The day is beautiful, and the car is ready for some fun on the road and at the track. Elgen shares details about his build, driving experience, and the journey of turning this car into a beast of performance while retaining its street manners.

---

#### The Car: A Stock S13 with Basic Bolt-Ons

Elgen’s 240SX is far from stock. It’s a BA-spec S13 (Blue Bird) with basic bolt-ons, including cams, full exhaust, and a GTX turbo running at 15 pounds of boost. This setup gives the car an impressive 300 wheel horsepower and 300 torque. The engine has been running for over 10 years, but Elgen rarely drives it much, keeping it in the garage most of the time.

---

#### Suspension and Handling

The car features a two-way full suspension setup with S15 control arms and a riveted-on widebody. Elgen is a huge track guy, so he loves the precision and grip this setup provides. The steering is quick—much faster than the standard rack—and the suspension feels well-sorted. The car’s weight is surprisingly light despite the cage and modifications.

---

#### Interior and Driving Comfort

Inside, the car has a Ricaro XL seat and a full cage with emergency cutout switches, making it feel like a proper track machine. Despite its performance-oriented setup, Elgen finds the car comfortable to drive on the street. The short shifter from B&M makes every upshift feel precise and satisfying.

---

#### Wheels and Tires

Elgen is running 275 N1’s in the rear for grip, especially during tight corners or when navigating hairpin turns. The front wheels are wrapped in 205/45 R16 tires, which provide excellent handling on both the street and track.

---

#### Braking System

The car features Sentra Str brakes with endless pads, giving it strong stopping power. While the brake pedal feels tight, Elgen mentions that it rubs a bit when he drives aggressively, but overall, the braking system works well.

---

#### Power Delivery and Drivetrain

The engine’s torque curve is flat above 4,500 RPM, making the car feel powerful and responsive. The short shifter and precise steering make it a joy to drive on twisty roads or autocross courses. Elgen jokes about how the shifter gets hot during aggressive driving sessions, so he keeps a beanie in the back to cover it.

---

#### Track Performance

Elgen has run this car at Willow Springs and other tracks in the past, but with its current setup, it’s much faster than when it was stock. The car’s light weight and precise handling make it a beast on autocross courses, especially when descending twisty sections. Elgen mentions that he used to throw drifting events with his friend Naoki, and this car would be perfect for such purposes.

---

#### Driving Experience on the Street

On the street, the car feels surprisingly unstressed, with no engine restrictions holding it back. The power delivery is smooth, and the flat torque curve makes it easy to drive in traffic. Elgen admits that he rarely gets the chance to drive this car much, but when he does, it’s always a blast.

---

#### Past Racing History

Elgen has a long history with drifting and grip events. He used to compete in Fiesta STs and even threw drift days with Naoki at places like Gs Center. His passion for driving is evident as he talks about the car’s performance on the track and how it feels when pushed to its limits.

---

#### Current Setup and Future Plans

Currently, Elgen has the car set up for grip rather than drifting. The coilovers are well-tuned, and the dampers provide excellent feedback. He plans to take the car to more drift events in the future but is happy with how it performs on the street and at the track.

---

#### Conclusion

Elgen’s 240SX is a perfect blend of performance and usability. It feels light on its feet, handles like a precision instrument, and delivers power that’s both exciting and manageable. Elgen’s passion for driving and his attention to detail have turned this car into a true driver’s machine.

Thank you, Elgen, for sharing your car with us and giving us a glimpse into the life of a car enthusiast who loves pushing limits on the road and track. If you enjoyed this video, make sure to hit that like button, subscribe, and ring the bell for more exciting car content!

nothing holding it back from running you know yeah the power band is very flat i' I've really wanted this car to respond very well let's see if this truck uh moves out of our way these water trucks tend to tend to do that but so far uh so far so good all right I don't think he's going to do that so we're going to take a pause we'll be back in one second this car has 265,000 M on it which is a ton but how many are on this engine uh I don't know I've had this engine 10 years but so a lot yeah but I I rarely drive as much as I should um I daed it for a little bit when I was in college but other than that like it practically for the past 8 years it kind of just sat in the garage just here and there dude it feels really really nice I mean just the way it transitions the way it handles camber yeah it loads up very nice yeah and you know it has very light steering steering but it's very precise steering the uh the last one I drove that S14 had a lot heavier steering than this this one's so light wait for this guy to turn out of the way are you just going to sit there really let's see what she's got good power good power good that's great not enough to scare you but enough to uh it doesn't really sound like a turbo motor I'm surprised I'm not getting more like buing and stuff yeah everyone uh says like this car drives like it's na it it kind of does I mean there's a little bit of the of the build around 4500 RPM but it it's a much flatter uh torque curve than you'd expect this thing is great dude thank you and I mean there's some rattles cuz you have no interior in the back half of the car but course but I can just tell like it's been sorted over time you know what I mean and gradually this is going to I hope you not going to bottom out here the car's not that low working that hard I totally get why people like these cars it's a fun car it's really fun and it feels so light on its feet the transitions are great and you can just set these things up for whatever what kind of change ches that you make for it to be a drift car um just different tires different alignment settings that's it and no Hardware no Hardware just change the dampening on the coilovers but you don't have like a funky angle kit or anything on this no that's great I'll tell you what you do know it's a turbo car below 3,000 RPM once you get it up above 4 it's just flat all the way but it drives great this shifter is like really nice and precise do you ever park it outside and you come back and the shifter balls like hot as oh yeah and you can't that's why I have a beanie in the
