My first time driving a Rally Car... did I suck
What's Up Guys? J2 Sense Here and Just to Give You a Little Warning This Video is a Little Different Than the Type of Content You're Used to Seeing Here I Have Two Passions in This World Technology and Motorsports and When I Had the Opportunity to Go Up to an Advanced Rally School Up in Snowy Washington at a Place Called Dirtfish Rally I Was Not Going to Turn That Down
I wanted to give you a heads up that this video is going to be a little different than our usual content. We've been focusing on technology stuff, but today we're going to switch gears and talk about one of my passions: motorsports. And what better way to do that than by attending an advanced rally school? Huge thanks to my friend Barnacles Nerdgasm for setting this up, and of course, thank you to Voler Media Imaging, Inlight, and Jasper Newton Media for making it all possible. If you're not into cars, I don't know why you even clicked on this video - but regardless, guys, enjoy the ride!
We're finally here at Dirtfish Rally School in Washington, where we'll be learning how to drive these BRZs on loose surfaces that are foreign to me. I think we're going to have a good time, and who knows, maybe I'll even kick your ass. Did you know there were NOS bottles filled up? And get this, the LS1 is tuned like a kitten - more power will hurt out there! Anyway, enough talking, let's just start driving some cars.
I have to be honest with you guys, that was harder than I thought it was going to be. The first run didn't exactly go as planned, but we introduced some break and everything started to come together. What I'm not used to is the difference between pavement and dirt - the gas pedal and steering wheel are totally different on loose surfaces, and it's also kind of scary because there are trees on either side of you pointing at them, telling your brain "I'm going to hit those trees" but physics takes over and says no, the car will rotate and do what it wants to do. So yeah, this was a bit more than I expected.
I actually came in here without any expectations - just ready to learn and have some fun. And that's exactly what we did. We learned how much I really don't know about driving on loose surfaces, but it was a lot of fun. By the end of the day, everything started coming together, and there's still so much to learn. It's all about discipline - my driving style is different from what works here, but that's part of the fun. I used to get a bit bored with pavement, but this makes me want to go out and build a car that can take on the desert and whatever else. How do you guys feel when we're killing cones?
I could highly recommend this school if you guys have ever wondered what it's like to get into an actual rally car - just go out there and kill some cones! I couldn't recommend it anymore, actually - I might be lost for words because I've been having so much fun. We're already thinking about coming back here again soon. Thanks a lot Jerry for setting this up, and to anyone who needs the exposure or help - you need both. Take away my power then just blow!
