7 hottest phones unveiled at MWC 2018

Every year, dozens of phone companies show off their latest designs at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and this year was no exception. The show featured some of our favorites from the event, with Samsung taking center stage with its Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus may look a lot like their predecessors, but they have some important upgrades that set them apart. For starters, they fix the position of the fingerprint scanner, which was previously placed on the front of the phone. This year, it's moved to the back, making it easier to access. The phones also have a faster processor and software upgrades, as well as a new way to unlock the device. But the biggest improvement is in the camera, which now has a variable aperture that adapts to different lighting conditions. This means that the camera can adjust its aperture to optimize the image, whether it's bright sunlight or low-light conditions.

The S9 Plus also comes with a second lens for better portraits and zoom capabilities. The plus model offers a slightly larger screen than the standard S9, at 6.2 inches compared to the 5.8-inch screen on the regular model. Despite their similarities in design, the two phones have some key differences that set them apart.

Nokia also delivered a premium flagship phone with its Nokia 8 Scirocco. The phone may share the same name as last year's model, but it raises the bar in every other way. The curved edges and barely-there bezels make the phone look a lot like the S9, but the screen is slightly smaller, at 5.3 inches compared to the S9 Plus's 6.2-inch display. However, the Nokia 8 Scirocco comes with a dual-lens setup, similar to the S9 Plus. But what really makes this phone stand out is its showstopper feature: the 8110 or G.

Nokia brought back its popular slider phone from the 90s and gave it a refresh. The phone got a banana makeover, complete with a color screen and a battery that lasts for 20 days straight. And yes, it still has Snake, making it a must-have for retro gamers. This is the second revival of a classic Nokia phone, proving that some things never go out of style.

Next up was Sony, which brought its Xperia XZ2 and XE compact phones to the show. Both phones have been given a much-needed design upgrade with slimmer bezels and a sleeker form factor
