From Broke to MultiMillionaire in One Year - Talacrest

A Day Off Turned into a Journalism Career

I remember my first day off from being a tea boy at a newspaper office, and how I ended up in the editor's office. No, I wasn't thinking I was gonna get fired at age 16 right then and there. The editor, who had low esteem for me at that time, rushed up and grabbed my hand, shaking it anyway. This is what journalism is built on, and I have to say, the way he said it - "I can't get my effing reporters to come" - and you came in on your own accord. You start next Monday, taking a course called T-line shorthand, and if you pass, you're in the telephone ring. If you pass that in three months, you're a trainee reporter. Wow, I went three lines and I am the "living thousand times freelancing" so-in-the-late-1970s-around-11,000-pounds-a-year-was-a-lot-of-money-in-the-mid-70s-absorption. Yeah, but Ferrari did notice six grand, wow - how many years from being a tea boy to that point did you have your first Ferrari? I had my first Ferrari eight years after I started working at the newspaper.

Learning to Drive My First Ferrari

So, I needed to be in the right place at the right time. You need luck on your side and hard work to achieve it. I got a tip from Frank about sharing some stocks because I was gonna make a fortune like an idiot. I bought more shares than I had cash, thinking they would go up in value. But then that like Friday over the cold in 1987 - the stock market crashed. The shares I bought went from ATP to therapy, which is like "oh my god, I will come Nevada believe it." My heart just sank.

Surviving the Stock Market Crash

I shared with you all this because everything I thought would be sure, was not. Even after sharing bond and being rid of traveling the world. I survived everything, but never lost anything because it's so stupid stock market crap. But, yes, you still have a Ferrari, right? No, I had to sell my car. And, I learned that all the dealer deals were all gone.

Making a Business Deal with Dealers

I took an offer from a local dealership for thirty thousand pounds, thinking they were lying, cheating sons of bitches. But they'd like me because they knew I was serious. Another twenty-three thousand - that's what it cost me to buy the car in the first place. I thought it was a rising market when we bought those cars. A good business plan and borrowing three hundred thousand pounds from my mates made all the difference.

From Tea Boy to Millionaire

It turns out, doing some research and analyzing the situation, predicted that the business would do well in 1989 - twelve million pounds worth of sales. It went from being a tea boy to becoming a millionaire in the span of just one year. The dealers were amazed at how it all happened so quickly. They'd advertise my car for big trips and told me I could use their dealership as a reference.

The Tea and Afternoon Affair

After we finished with the business, I thought about having an afternoon tea, but we started with dinner in England instead. It turned out to be an exclusive interview - which is what we're doing right now. This is an exclusive look at my life, and how it all went from a humble beginning as a tea boy to becoming a successful entrepreneur.

The Ferrari Business Today

I have learned so much over the years since that first Ferrari purchase. The experience taught me about perseverance, good business sense, and taking calculated risks. I had a great time sharing this story with you today.
