**Book Review: "From Lukov with Love" by Mariana Zapata**
As I sat down to read "From Lukov with Love" by Mariana Zapata, I was excited to dive into another installment of the Coldkus series. The author's writing style is always a pleasure to return to, and this book did not disappoint. The story follows the relationship between Ivan Lukov and Jasmine Santos as they navigate their feelings for each other. What I loved about this book was how Zapata wrote with her sister, who is best friends with Ivan. This dynamic added a fresh perspective to the story, making it feel like we were getting an inside scoop on Ivan's life.
The beginning of the book did feel a bit clunky at first, but once Brendan got into the picture, everything fell into place. I loved how modernized it felt, particularly in regards to social media. Zapata tackled the topic with ease, making it seem like a natural part of the story rather than a cringeworthy attempt to fit in. The character development was also top-notch, with Brendan being a standout in particular. He wasn't too grumpy or over-the-top, and his communication skills were on point. I appreciated how Zapata showed him forcing Jasmine to speak about her problems and work through them together.
**A Refreshing Read: "Winter in Paradise" by Elin Hilderbrand**
I recently reread "Winter in Paradise" by Elin Hilderbrand, which was a delightful experience. This book is the first in a three-part series, and it's surprisingly short at around 300 pages. The story follows a woman who receives a call that her husband died in a helicopter crash while on business in Saint John Island. She takes her two grown sons with her to investigate, only to discover that her husband had a whole other life there. What I love about Hilderbrand's writing is how she gets everyone's point of view, making the story feel like a true ensemble piece.
I enjoyed reading this book on the beach, and it felt like the perfect summer read. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting more, so I'm excited to start the next installment in the series. One thing that struck me was how well Hilderbrand wrote about social media and its impact on our lives. She didn't make it feel cringeworthy or forced, which is a testament to her skill as a writer.
**June's Upcoming Reads**
I've got an exciting lineup of books for June, including several reviews and discussions. I'm looking forward to diving into some new titles and sharing my thoughts with you all. As always, I'll be sharing my honest opinions and discussing the books with anyone who wants to join in on the conversation.
**Reading Update**
It's been a busy month, and I've read so many great books that I just can't wait to dive into the rest of my TBR pile. As I'm sure you're aware, it's always hard for me to resist buying new books – it's like an addiction! But seriously, I think it's time for me to take a break from buying new books and focus on getting through the ones I already have.
**Conclusion**
That's all for this month's wrap-up. I hope you've enjoyed reading about my favorite books of the month, and I'd love to hear from you in the comments if you've read any of these titles or have any recommendations for me. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enokay so much going on i am so excited hi guys welcome or welcome back to my channel this month was a really good month for me we're gonna put the obvious first i am a little burnt right now but we're gonna kind of cover that cause it's a little distracting i did go to the beach a few times this weekend but she's a little bird this month was a really good month i read so many books and i don't know what it was i want to put it on school was over and warm weather started i got a new chair out on my deck if you guys have seen on my instagram a little swinging egg kind of chair it's really comfortable the weather's been perfect i've just really nothing else to do but well i guess i do have responsibilities but i've been reading a lot lots of reasons for it but we're just going to start because i'm going to be talking a lot in this video starting with the very beginning of this month i read it feels like literally a year ago i read this book but i finally got through terms and conditions by lauren asher and this is part of the dreamland billionaire series this is declan and iris so the first one was the fine print i think the third one's coming out with the third brother because it's all like brothers who are all bajillionaires but basically this is i guess you can say it's a forced proximity it's also fake not fake dating fake marriage enemies lovers all of that in one to be about to get through i really like the fine print but this one the brothers seemed way too similar i did like declan but the book i didn't love because it was so similar to the first one with the two of them just being animated lovers and they're like the same business and stuff i don't know it wasn't my favorite storyline i felt i got bored i've read way too many grumpy sunshines recently that it's just this trope has well overdone itself where at this point they're all the same i can predict it all and it's just not fun to read anymore but i will say it was a good book otherwise if you like grumpy sunshine and stuff like that you would love this but definitely iris i liked i think i liked him as a couple more than i liked zara and rowan from the fine print but i mean it was good i gave it a three out of five not my favorite read of the month but it was okay it really stick out to me did i say what it's about i think i did he okay maybe i should do that so this was about declan his grandfather passed away and left like tasks for three brothers to take over like the business it's like dreamland which is kind of like disneyland but like in this world so his task was to become ceo he had to marry and then also make like an heir to like the not the throne because they are not royalty but to become ceo he needed to have like a someone who could take it over one day so no one wants to marry him because he's grumpy he's mean so his assistant irish she's been working for him for years he doesn't hate her he's just like mean to her just like that's just how he is it's like right off the bat right when you get into the book so that's what this is about they are enemies lovers but they have to put on a show for everyone pretend they're in love it's good just not my favorite okay so next i read i actually put it on my phone it was a kindle read i ended up downloading it on my phone because my kindle was charging for too long and i was like i wanted to start the series the mindfuck series by st abby i heard so much about this series that was recommended so many times definitely check trigger warnings before this book because this book is very graphic or the series isn't very graphic it's it's a lot but it's phenomenal i gave the whole series as a whole five stars the first book i think i gave four to five just because it's always like the first in the series like getting to know everyone and whatever but then as it went on it's just like every book leaves you on the biggest cliffhanger of your life that you need to start the next one what's also great about it is it's a five book series but each book is like a little over 100 pages so it's like really easy to get through and like i said i read it on my phone which i'm probably actually i don't know is it unpopular opinion but to me i love reading on my phone i just feel like just reading online at starbucks i was reading walking around my house just laying in bed it was so much easier to read it's just like so convenient so i sped through it i think they're all free too so they're all kindle unlimited whatever so it's basically about i always forget their names and this is so bad because i gave this five stars so that's really telling i'm not solana but what's the same ben i don't know i always say ben for every single guy logan i always think someone seems bad okay it's valana and logan and basically logan's part of the fbi he's a profiler so as soon as i started reading this it reminded me so much of criminal minds and the way that they profile where i loved criminal minds when i watched in high school so that was amazing and then lana she is a serial killer but she's not just like a crazy serial killer where she's going around just like killing people for fun she has a list and she has reasons for killing these people and you find it all for like drama and you find out all of what's going on but they accidentally like bump into each other and romance kind of happens so you get like her and her serial killing i guess you could say and then you also get their romance and then you get his point of view where he has no idea what she's doing and he's like on the case of what she's doing it's so good and it escalates like so quick for even if being a five book series you get through it so quick you always are uncovering something and it's like their romance grows and it's like you feel their romance like it's not just like i don't know it was so good i wrote down what did i write down okay so it's dual point of view and then also when you're seeing like flashbacks of what happened to her in the past you get them like kind of like spread out throughout the book you don't like get them at once you don't know exactly what happened to her which i liked and like i said every single one ends on a cliffhanger it is so suspenseful when you end off each book and then also like getting logan's point of view and like knowing everything from what lana's doing it's like so good you just like want to get to the end of it every single character in this book as well i love like part of like the team and like her whatever not one of them i didn't like which is hard usually there's like some character that i just dislike but so good and the last thing i said was that was insane that was that if you haven't read it and you want like a thriller suspenseful but also like good romance in one like it's the perfect mix you need to read it then i read along with you and ether by i'm not gonna say her name is it olivier elevy ellie blake this book i talked about this in my five star reads part two and i literally said i didn't write this sometimes it's a five star for me sometimes it's like three i'm just leaving this unrated because i don't know what to even like think about this i know haley read this gave it a five star and then destiny when she told me she was reading and i literally went on amazon and bought it anything that destiny reads i buy and i felt like with this book i couldn't take a break from it if i stopped and went back to it i was so confused i had to read it in like one sitting basically so i just read the first half and then the second half i just sat on my floor of my room and i just finished the whole thing i mean it's not a long book it's like almost 200 pages basically it is about maybe i should remember when i know it's aldo and regan it's a love story it's a romance the first thing i wrote in my notes when i started reading it was i don't know what's going on you kind of have to trust the process with this book honestly i like normal people okay whatever so regan she has ocd her brain is always like running and then you have aldo who is very smart he's very intelligent he knows a lot and his brain is very like ridiculous i guess you could say and you kind of get the insides of their head and you get the insights of like their mental being illness and everything and then you get them crossing paths and how the relationship is with two people being so i don't know how to really word that i don't know but it's written in a way where if you like books like i think i said this in my last video if you like books i get to the point and you know what's going on and you don't have to read between the lines like this isn't for you this is a book where you have like dissect what she's saying and what she's writing and kind of to understand what's going on which i kind of liked sometimes i like a book like this this isn't like always my first choice it's like a book that's kind of more rhetorical and stuff but this is like it was so good i think it was a beautiful portrayal of what goes on in people's minds because you don't really know i think that she did such a good job of like writing that and doing that just sometimes i was so far out confused that i felt like stupid reading this book i'm not even kidding then other times it was like such beautiful writing where i'm like this is such a beautiful way to say something like that you know i don't know but i literally can't read it because sometimes i just feel like i'm literally not intelligent enough to read this book but it was really good i enjoyed it then i read the roughest draft okay so this is by austin sigmund broca and emily wimberly i think this was was it their debut romance book i don't know the cover is really freaking cute is them in like little pool i read this i have buddy read it actually with haley fam we read at the same time she sent it to me and she was like someone posted it instead of people that love beach read will love this book so we were like we need it okay so this is about katrina and nathan they like co-authored a book and then something happened stop talking it's one of those tropes and then i think it's like ten three why did i say ten years three years and they haven't spoken since something happened and then their partnership but they're in a contract where they have to write one more book together so they agree to it after a little bit of bickering negotiation then they go to florida where they co-wrote their last books they go there together but there's so much tension because they're still not friends and they don't really speak on what's going on they kind of communicate through their writing when they're writing which i thought was really nice i mean it got kind of frustrating because just like use your words but i think that was kind of what they were trying to do with the book is with their writing they would write about the characters from their new book they had to write together and it was kind of like them talking to each other which i thought was interesting some parts did for me get boring but i did like them together like i saw it and i thought it was really cute i loved the ending i left them together some parts were just a little bit boring for me but it was really good i'm gonna give it four to five it wasn't my favorite read but it was really good for what it was and the cover is really cute sadly next is her book lovers by emily henry this was so hyped clearly it's hyped emily henry a new novel i loved beatride people in munification a little boring but i liked it the essence of it it was kind of like underwhelming but then i read this didn't read it actually i read maybe up to 138 chapter 12. i didn't love it he will say one of the reasons i think is because i went straight from this into this and this is literally about two authors that go on subjection to write a book deal or whatever this is about a literary agent and i don't know what he is what is he's an editor so it's kind of like another world of books which sometimes what i'm reading about authors editors and stuff like that it's boring for me they're all like kind of i feel like the same but whatever i started it and off the bat i didn't read the back of it which i think that would have helped you get the prologue and in the prologue she meets the romantic interest charlie and i didn't realize that it was gonna be the romantic interest i literally pictured like a 50 year old man and i was like he's a mean man and then you get to it and she bumps into charlie and you're like oh so right off the bat i had a bad preconceived image of him but whatever aside from that dude like nora i will say the character of nora she is very modernized she's not like trying to be quirky i also will say i think i got tired maybe i should say what it's about laura and her sister libby they take this little vacation for a few weeks to sunshine falls i think it's called in north carolina or like libby her sister's favorite book takes place and like an author that she's an agent for takes place so they went there to stay there for three weeks they end up bumping into charlie all of that stuff but i guess i didn't get too far obviously i think there was too much of libby i loved her as a sister i just felt like there was a little too much of her i didn't like charlie at first so i just felt really like bland to me boring i didn't really want to read this trope or anything about it i will say it wasn't like so bad that i'm not going to go back to it like i think i'll read it again and maybe i'll love it just for all the time that i started reading it what it was about this wasn't what i wanted and it didn't live up to what i was expecting so just bored me and i literally didn't pick it up and i know when i don't pick up a book that i just shouldn't have forced myself so i put it down and i said let's not do this anymore i literally would just leave it and i wouldn't read at all i would go days without reading and this put me in such a big slump but maybe i'll get back to her we will have to see okay and then i read a million kisses in your lifetime by monica murphy this is a pretty big book right off the bat just looking at it but the font is huge and it's kind of like split up the paragraphs which i liked it made me read faster honestly i didn't expect to love this book as much as i did from the last i guess four books that i read previous to this they were all about like i guess 20 late 20 to 30 year olds and their romances and their issues and what's going on with them i think i got sick of reading about adults this is about high school romance so this was refreshing to read i loved their names crew and ren ren and crew go to the same private school both have very rich families ren is very innocent she's like was new to the school of freshman year but they are now seniors and crew has always had a thing for her they never spoke because crew is kind of mean whatever it's not like really grumpy sunshine like at all you don't really get that vibe as you do like a regular grumpy sunshine it's just like that's just their personalities i will say the beginning i didn't love because i didn't love the way that they would like portray each other like i didn't like how crew looked at wren and said things or like thought things about her and then how ren made it such a big deal that she was so innocent but then i was like this is the point of the book you will understand if you read it or if you're going to they just end up in the same class together i think it's psychology they're paired together for a psychology project where the teacher pairs everyone and they have to just do a project on getting to know each other so they're forced to get to know each other it was so good i really did thoroughly enjoy this book again the beginning wasn't that great but after like 100 pages i just flew through it there is one part with like a teacher mr fig that i didn't think was necessary i think she needed to put it in to give more to the plot line but i didn't love that i did love running crew i love crew he would do absolutely anything for this girl this felt just like a comfort book at the time of me reading it i feel like i would go back to this and read it and that's when i know it's like so good it was hard for me to rate this i don't know if i should give it a 4 or a 5 i give it 4.5 out of 5. i also loved this book was like kind of just about them there wasn't really any other i guess there was a few but like not really big other side plots going on like it really just focused on like what was going on with them i said that there was no drama no extraneous just their growing relationship and ren growing as a woman which i love so great book i saw it all over bookstagram and i'm very happy that i read it then i read every summer after by carly fortune this is her debut novel it is her debut novel this book okay i'll start off by saying i did give it five out of five but that wasn't the case in the beginning of reading it basically it's about if you take love in other words this is why i saw this and ordered it love in other words people would meet on vacation and i think there was another one like mix it all together you get this that's exactly what it is and that is the reason i was so turned off in the beginning it felt like she just kind of took the most hyped books and the most loved books and put them into this and you guys know how i feel about love another word so i feel like it was just like mocked and copied and i was like why just be original but she was it was just the way it started because it's the same tropes it's childhood friends lovers it's they haven't spoken in like 12 years percy gets a call she's older now she gets a call something happens she has come back to the lake house that she grew up with next door to sam you see sam again for the first time in 12 years it's basically love in other words in a different font in a different way of writing it's honestly i think it's spicier love in other words but aside from being turned off in the beginning i continued to read it because lauren was reading it at the same time and she said i like have to let it get so good and i trust her so i continued after getting over the whole copycat dilemma that i was dealing with it got so good if someone told me a book or my love in other words and you don't think i'm gonna read it think again because i'm obviously going to run and read it and see what the hype is about and that's my favorite tropes childhood friends lovers second chance romance i will give it a 5 out of 5. i loved it i was like crying at the end happy tears not sad tears just one thing about me is i'm a sucker for this trope the only thing i want is these two tropes with dual point of view i want to know what the boy is thinking if i can get elliot's point of view in that book or if i get sam's in this like that's all i'm asking for it's for someone to write childhood friends lovers second chance romance they haven't seen in the years give me the voice point of view i want to know what they're thinking but yeah these had high expectations i literally before everyone said good luck to this book because again they said love in other words but it was so good i did guess why they didn't speak for years i mean there was a kind of like a second part to it one of the parts i did guess it was kind of you could pick up on it but when it did come i was still taking it back taken by surprise yeah i was obsessed five out of five it deserves the hype that it's getting and good for her her jb book and she is getting so much hype on it but that's what happens when you take the best book in my opinion and put it into like another one it's just spicier it was so good i read it happened one summer by tessa bailey i did just now go to barnes and get the second one hookline and sinker which is like the sisters side so first i remember seeing this all over the place almost a few months ago i don't really remember one but basically it's kind of like a shit's creek inspired rom comic book i love shit's creek one of my favorite shows absolutely ever it is to me peak comedy of shows i think it's so funny so i saw that solid cover and i was like this is gonna be perfect but basically it's about piper rich la girl basically alexis from shit's creek if you've seen it but she is just kind of like closed off to reality because her stepfather's so rich whatever something happens and she gets sent off to a different town westport washington she gets sent off her sister goes with her and it's basically a small town where her father her real father kind of grew up and stuff so she gets that there she sent there for three months to kind of come back down to reality figure out how to take responsibility her sister goes with her because they're best friends and i think this is where i wish book lovers did because she went to a small town with her sister they went to a small town together the way that she wrote with the sister was perfect like the sister wasn't involved too much it was focused on the relationship of what was going on the beginning wasn't like that good because again it's like build what's going on but once brendan got into the picture it was amazing scruffy sunshine but it's not grumpy where he is possessive he is obsessive he's annoying he's mean it was like perfectly done right so i said i loved how modernized it felt felt nice to read about social media not a cringy way because she's an influencer she has millions of followers and stuff like that she kind of talks about that and goes through whatever she's doing with that it just felt like normal i don't know if that was predictable but that's like every grumpy sunshine you're gonna get the exact same thing and that's what i'm saying in the beginning of this video i am so over grumpy sunshine but what are you gonna do or not i think it was done well brendan wasn't too grumpy over the top and they communicated and weren't toxic and that is where this stood out for me brendan was so communicative usually in a book they have an argument and they stop talking and it's like communicate maybe just talk it out and brendan legit forced them to speak about their problems and fix what was going on and i think that's what made him so perfect he was so understanding communicated and he is just perfect so i loved this i think i gave it a four out of five just because this trope is just like it's getting overdone for me so that's sad but it was great i did enjoy it i loved them okay last but certainly not least i just finished this today this is winter in paradise alan hildebrand the first in the series it's a series of three i read this sometime last year but i am now going to finish the series i just learned the second one and i just bought the third one so i want to finish the series but i need a refresher because i don't remember what happened i know the essence of like what happened but i needed to reread it it's kind of short it's like 300 pages but basically it's about a woman who gets a call that her husband was on business but he ended up dying in a helicopter crash with the pilot and another woman was on the helicopter with that over saint john island over there and she's like why was my husband there so she has to go over to st john investigate figure out why her husband is over there turns out he had a whole other life she takes her two grown sons with her they're shocked too and then you also get point of views from all the people on the other side because the woman that was also in the helicopter lived on st john so you get like people that were like her life you get all of it and what i love about ellen is by ellen hildebrand she gets everyone's point of view so you get the mom's point of view the two sons you get ayers who is one of the town people you get huck you get might you get everyone's point of view so you get what everyone's thinking what's going on with everyone and it's just i love her writing it's really refreshing i've read this on the beach so it felt right but i'm on the second one i forgot how much of a cliffhanger this ends on so i'm very excited to start this anyone i kind of started i read one chapter but actually there's no chapters it just changes point of views which i really like i love her writing so okay about this series we will talk about the second and third in what i read in june i am so excited for june's books because i've read so many this month so many good ones and i just i've read a good amount and it makes me excited for summer reading because it's the best time to read it's also my birthday month which is very exciting those are all the books that i read this month let me know if you've read any of these if you have any opinions if you have any books you want me to read next month i do have quite the lineup right now i'm trying to get through the books that i have in my room even though i keep buying new ones i need to stop but it's hard it's a hard life i need to ban myself from buying more but whatever okay i know this is a longer one but i do hope you enjoy and i will see you hopefully in the next one byeokay so much going on i am so excited hi guys welcome or welcome back to my channel this month was a really good month for me we're gonna put the obvious first i am a little burnt right now but we're gonna kind of cover that cause it's a little distracting i did go to the beach a few times this weekend but she's a little bird this month was a you always are uncovering something and it's like their romance grows and it's like you feel their romance like it's not just like i don't know it was so good i wrote down what did i write down okay so it's dual point of view and then also when you're seeing like flashbacks of what happened to her in the past you get them like kind of like spread out throughout the book you don't like get them at once you don't know exactly what happened to her which i liked and like i said every single one ends on a cliffhanger it is so suspenseful when you end off each book and then also like getting logan's point of view and like knowing everything from what lana's doing it's like so good you just like want to get to the end of it every single character in this book as well i love like part of like the team and like her whatever not one of them i didn't like which is hard usually there's like some character that i just dislike but so good and the last thing i said was that was insane that was that if you haven't read it and you want like a thriller suspenseful but also like good romance in one like it's the perfect mix you need to read it then i read along with you and ether by i'm not gonna say her name is it olivier elevy ellie blake this book i talked about this in my five star reads part two and i literally said i didn't write this sometimes it's a five star for me sometimes it's like three i'm just leaving this unrated because i don't know what to even like think about this i know haley read this gave it a five star and then destiny when she told me she was reading and i literally went on amazon and bought it anything that destiny reads i buy and i felt like with this book i couldn't take a break from it if i stopped and went back to it i was so confused i had to read it in like one sitting basically so i just read the first half and then the second half i just sat on my floor of my room and i just finished the whole thing i mean it's not a long book it's like almost 200 pages basically it is about maybe i should remember when i know it's aldo and regan it's a love story it's a romance the first thing i wrote in my notes when i started reading it was i don't know what's going on you kind of have to trust the process with this book honestly i like normal people okay whatever so regan she has ocd her brain is always like running and then you have aldo who is very smart he's very intelligent he knows a lot and his brain is very like ridiculous i guess you could say and you kind of get the insides of their head and you get the insights of like their mental being illness and everything and then you get them crossing paths and how the relationship is with two people being so i don't know how to really word that i don't know but it's written in a way where if you like books like i think i said this in my last video if you like books i get to the point and you know what's going on and you don't have to read between the lines like this isn't for you this is a book where you have like dissect what she's saying and what she's writing and kind of to understand what's going on which i kind of liked sometimes i like a book like this this isn't like always my first choice it's like a book that's kind of more rhetorical and stuff but this is like it was so good i think it was a beautiful portrayal of what goes on in people's minds because you don't really know i think that she did such a good job of like writing that and doing that just sometimes i was so far out confused that i felt like stupid reading this book i'm not even kidding then other times it was like such beautiful writing where i'm like this is such a beautiful way to say something like that you know i don't know but i literally can't read it because sometimes i just feel like i'm literally not intelligent enough to read this book but it was really good i enjoyed it then i read the roughest draft okay so this is by austin sigmund broca and emily wimberly i think this was was it their debut romance book i don't know the cover is really freaking cute is them in like little pool i read this i have buddy read it actually with haley fam we read at the same time she sent it to me and she was like someone posted it instead of people that love beach read will love this book so we were like we need it okay so this is about katrina and nathan they like co-authored a book and then something happened stop talking it's one of those tropes and then i think it's like ten three why did i say ten years three years and they haven't spoken since something happened and then their partnership but they're in a contract where they have to write one more book together so they agree to it after a little bit of bickering negotiation then they go to florida where they co-wrote their last books they go there together but there's so much tension because they're still not friends and they don't really speak on what's going on they kind of communicate through their writing when they're writing which i thought was really nice i mean it got kind of frustrating because just like use your words but i think that was kind of what they were trying to do with the book is with their writing they would write about the characters from their new book they had to write together and it was kind of like them talking to each other which i thought was interesting some parts did for me get boring but i did like them together like i saw it and i thought it was really cute i loved the ending i left them together some parts were just a little bit boring for me but it was really good i'm gonna give it four to five it wasn't my favorite read but it was really good for what it was and the cover is really cute sadly next is her book lovers by emily henry this was so hyped clearly it's hyped emily henry a new novel i loved beatride people in munification a little boring but i liked it the essence of it it was kind of like underwhelming but then i read this didn't read it actually i read maybe up to 138 chapter 12. i didn't love it he will say one of the reasons i think is because i went straight from this into this and this is literally about two authors that go on subjection to write a book deal or whatever this is about a literary agent and i don't know what he is what is he's an editor so it's kind of like another world of books which sometimes what i'm reading about authors editors and stuff like that it's boring for me they're all like kind of i feel like the same but whatever i started it and off the bat i didn't read the back of it which i think that would have helped you get the prologue and in the prologue she meets the romantic interest charlie and i didn't realize that it was gonna be the romantic interest i literally pictured like a 50 year old man and i was like he's a mean man and then you get to it and she bumps into charlie and you're like oh so right off the bat i had a bad preconceived image of him but whatever aside from that dude like nora i will say the character of nora she is very modernized she's not like trying to be quirky i also will say i think i got tired maybe i should say what it's about laura and her sister libby they take this little vacation for a few weeks to sunshine falls i think it's called in north carolina or like libby her sister's favorite book takes place and like an author that she's an agent for takes place so they went there to stay there for three weeks they end up bumping into charlie all of that stuff but i guess i didn't get too far obviously i think there was too much of libby i loved her as a sister i just felt like there was a little too much of her i didn't like charlie at first so i just felt really like bland to me boring i didn't really want to read this trope or anything about it i will say it wasn't like so bad that i'm not going to go back to it like i think i'll read it again and maybe i'll love it just for all the time that i started reading it what it was about this wasn't what i wanted and it didn't live up to what i was expecting so just bored me and i literally didn't pick it up and i know when i don't pick up a book that i just shouldn't have forced myself so i put it down and i said let's not do this anymore i literally would just leave it and i wouldn't read at all i would go days without reading and this put me in such a big slump but maybe i'll get back to her we will have to see okay and then i read a million kisses in your lifetime by monica murphy this is a pretty big book right off the bat just looking at it but the font is huge and it's kind of like split up the paragraphs which i liked it made me read faster honestly i didn't expect to love this book as much as i did from the last i guess four books that i read previous to this they were all about like i guess 20 late 20 to 30 year olds and their romances and their issues and what's going on with them i think i got sick of reading about adults this is about high school romance so this was refreshing to read i loved their names crew and ren ren and crew go to the same private school both have very rich families ren is very innocent she's like was new to the school of freshman year but they are now seniors and crew has always had a thing for her they never spoke because crew is kind of mean whatever it's not like really grumpy sunshine like at all you don't really get that vibe as you do like a regular grumpy sunshine it's just like that's just their personalities i will say the beginning i didn't love because i didn't love the way that they would like portray each other like i didn't like how crew looked at wren and said things or like thought things about her and then how ren made it such a big deal that she was so innocent but then i was like this is the point of the book you will understand if you read it or if you're going to they just end up in the same class together i think it's psychology they're paired together for a psychology project where the teacher pairs everyone and they have to just do a project on getting to know each other so they're forced to get to know each other it was so good i really did thoroughly enjoy this book again the beginning wasn't that great but after like 100 pages i just flew through it there is one part with like a teacher mr fig that i didn't think was necessary i think she needed to put it in to give more to the plot line but i didn't love that i did love running crew i love crew he would do absolutely anything for this girl this felt just like a comfort book at the time of me reading it i feel like i would go back to this and read it and that's when i know it's like so good it was hard for me to rate this i don't know if i should give it a 4 or a 5 i give it 4.5 out of 5. i also loved this book was like kind of just about them there wasn't really any other i guess there was a few but like not really big other side plots going on like it really just focused on like what was going on with them i said that there was no drama no extraneous just their growing relationship and ren growing as a woman which i love so great book i saw it all over bookstagram and i'm very happy that i read it then i read every summer after by carly fortune this is her debut novel it is her debut novel this book okay i'll start off by saying i did give it five out of five but that wasn't the case in the beginning of reading it basically it's about if you take love in other words this is why i saw this and ordered it love in other words people would meet on vacation and i think there was another one like mix it all together you get this that's exactly what it is and that is the reason i was so turned off in the beginning it felt like she just kind of took the most hyped books and the most loved books and put them into this and you guys know how i feel about love another word so i feel like it was just like mocked and copied and i was like why just be original but she was it was just the way it started because it's the same tropes it's childhood friends lovers it's they haven't spoken in like 12 years percy gets a call she's older now she gets a call something happens she has come back to the lake house that she grew up with next door to sam you see sam again for the first time in 12 years it's basically love in other words in a different font in a different way of writing it's honestly i think it's spicier love in other words but aside from being turned off in the beginning i continued to read it because lauren was reading it at the same time and she said i like have to let it get so good and i trust her so i continued after getting over the whole copycat dilemma that i was dealing with it got so good if someone told me a book or my love in other words and you don't think i'm gonna read it think again because i'm obviously going to run and read it and see what the hype is about and that's my favorite tropes childhood friends lovers second chance romance i will give it a 5 out of 5. i loved it i was like crying at the end happy tears not sad tears just one thing about me is i'm a sucker for this trope the only thing i want is these two tropes with dual point of view i want to know what the boy is thinking if i can get elliot's point of view in that book or if i get sam's in this like that's all i'm asking for it's for someone to write childhood friends lovers second chance romance they haven't seen in the years give me the voice point of view i want to know what they're thinking but yeah these had high expectations i literally before everyone said good luck to this book because again they said love in other words but it was so good i did guess why they didn't speak for years i mean there was a kind of like a second part to it one of the parts i did guess it was kind of you could pick up on it but when it did come i was still taking it back taken by surprise yeah i was obsessed five out of five it deserves the hype that it's getting and good for her her jb book and she is getting so much hype on it but that's what happens when you take the best book in my opinion and put it into like another one it's just spicier it was so good i read it happened one summer by tessa bailey i did just now go to barnes and get the second one hookline and sinker which is like the sisters side so first i remember seeing this all over the place almost a few months ago i don't really remember one but basically it's kind of like a shit's creek inspired rom comic book i love shit's creek one of my favorite shows absolutely ever it is to me peak comedy of shows i think it's so funny so i saw that solid cover and i was like this is gonna be perfect but basically it's about piper rich la girl basically alexis from shit's creek if you've seen it but she is just kind of like closed off to reality because her stepfather's so rich whatever something happens and she gets sent off to a different town westport washington she gets sent off her sister goes with her and it's basically a small town where her father her real father kind of grew up and stuff so she gets that there she sent there for three months to kind of come back down to reality figure out how to take responsibility her sister goes with her because they're best friends and i think this is where i wish book lovers did because she went to a small town with her sister they went to a small town together the way that she wrote with the sister was perfect like the sister wasn't involved too much it was focused on the relationship of what was going on the beginning wasn't like that good because again it's like build what's going on but once brendan got into the picture it was amazing scruffy sunshine but it's not grumpy where he is possessive he is obsessive he's annoying he's mean it was like perfectly done right so i said i loved how modernized it felt felt nice to read about social media not a cringy way because she's an influencer she has millions of followers and stuff like that she kind of talks about that and goes through whatever she's doing with that it just felt like normal i don't know if that was predictable but that's like every grumpy sunshine you're gonna get the exact same thing and that's what i'm saying in the beginning of this video i am so over grumpy sunshine but what are you gonna do or not i think it was done well brendan wasn't too grumpy over the top and they communicated and weren't toxic and that is where this stood out for me brendan was so communicative usually in a book they have an argument and they stop talking and it's like communicate maybe just talk it out and brendan legit forced them to speak about their problems and fix what was going on and i think that's what made him so perfect he was so understanding communicated and he is just perfect so i loved this i think i gave it a four out of five just because this trope is just like it's getting overdone for me so that's sad but it was great i did enjoy it i loved them okay last but certainly not least i just finished this today this is winter in paradise alan hildebrand the first in the series it's a series of three i read this sometime last year but i am now going to finish the series i just learned the second one and i just bought the third one so i want to finish the series but i need a refresher because i don't remember what happened i know the essence of like what happened but i needed to reread it it's kind of short it's like 300 pages but basically it's about a woman who gets a call that her husband was on business but he ended up dying in a helicopter crash with the pilot and another woman was on the helicopter with that over saint john island over there and she's like why was my husband there so she has to go over to st john investigate figure out why her husband is over there turns out he had a whole other life she takes her two grown sons with her they're shocked too and then you also get point of views from all the people on the other side because the woman that was also in the helicopter lived on st john so you get like people that were like her life you get all of it and what i love about ellen is by ellen hildebrand she gets everyone's point of view so you get the mom's point of view the two sons you get ayers who is one of the town people you get huck you get might you get everyone's point of view so you get what everyone's thinking what's going on with everyone and it's just i love her writing it's really refreshing i've read this on the beach so it felt right but i'm on the second one i forgot how much of a cliffhanger this ends on so i'm very excited to start this anyone i kind of started i read one chapter but actually there's no chapters it just changes point of views which i really like i love her writing so okay about this series we will talk about the second and third in what i read in june i am so excited for june's books because i've read so many this month so many good ones and i just i've read a good amount and it makes me excited for summer reading because it's the best time to read it's also my birthday month which is very exciting those are all the books that i read this month let me know if you've read any of these if you have any opinions if you have any books you want me to read next month i do have quite the lineup right now i'm trying to get through the books that i have in my room even though i keep buying new ones i need to stop but it's hard it's a hard life i need to ban myself from buying more but whatever okay i know this is a longer one but i do hope you enjoy and i will see you hopefully in the next one bye\n"
