The Apple Magsafe Wireless Charger: A Comprehensive Review

Hey what's up guys I don't bite help here welcome back to the channel today we're taking a look at apple's brand new magsafe wireless charger for iphone 12. In this video I'm going to try to answer as many questions as possible for you guys such as does it work with other apple products like the airpods maybe another iphone and what comes inside the box so we're going to take a look at that and everything else about the magsafe we're going to see how that works and I also picked up one of apple's silicon cases this one here is also magsafe compatible I'm going to also try to see if this one works with other cases or through other cases as well so we'll get to all that here.

Let's first get through the unboxing so let's go ahead and remove the label right here and let's see what comes inside the box itself. Right here it is, inside of the box we get some instructions no apple stickers nope nothing else that's pretty much it. Inside the box, right here it is, designed by apple in california so we open it up and there we go. It comes with the usb type-c end, so keep that in mind you need a usb type-c or a computer with a usb type-c adapter.

Let's go ahead and remove it from the packaging this reminds me a lot of the apple watch charger by the way, so there it is just a bigger version of that. There it is nothing much to it so just aluminum feels sturdy obviously, the cable isn't braided, I feel like it could easily break honestly but we'll have to test that over time. So let's go ahead and plug it into a power source here and I'm going to go ahead and try this with an iphone 11. Right here, let's go ahead and place it to see if the uh starts charging. It does it does start charging actually so let's see if it works with the airpods pro.

So airpods pro yeah, it does work with airpods pro how about older iphones? Let's try the iphone uh 10s right here 10s max yup, it does work with that as well so it is compatible with airpods uh iphone 11, previous generation iphones. Let's try the apple watch just out of curiosity so let's go ahead and do that and let's see if it charges the apple watch. Nope, it doesn't look to be charging the apple watch, so no, no apple watch compatibility here uh I guess it's just too big for the apple watch but yeah, no apple watch compatibility.

Now let's go ahead and take a look at the apple uh silicon case and try that to put it to charge with the iphone. So there it is, I really like this color as I mentioned this is i guess its cut the plum color plum, there it is and the inside we have the circle which mimics the circle for the magsafe this goes on the back and it's magnetic just like that. So let's bring in the iphone 11 pro max with apple's smart battery pack which is wirelessly chargeable and compatible. Let's see if it works with that and it doesn't look like its charging so it's not charging maybe it's just not correctly aligned, just going to place it here.

The thing about the magnets with apple's new silicon case is that the magnet aligns it perfectly, and that's the whole purpose of that. So it doesn't appear to be charging the iphone 11 pro max with apple's smart battery okay so that doesn't work, so that's pretty much it.
