Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is Almost Here...
**Samsung S20 Series: Everything We Know So Far**
The Samsung S20 series is just around the corner, and we're finally getting some concrete details about what to expect from these flagship devices. As mentioned towards the beginning of this video, there are some bonus leaks and rumors that I'd like to share with you all.
One of the most significant changes between the S20 and its predecessor is the absence of a fingerprint scanner. Instead, Samsung has opted for an in-display fingerprint sensor, which we had last year, but were hoping would come back this time around. Unfortunately, it looks like that's not going to be the case this year. This gives you a much larger area to work with and also provides two-finger support for extra security, however, unfortunately, this is not going to be coming to the S20 series. Maybe it will be coming to the Note 20 series.
For the batteries, the good news is that all of these devices are packing some big batteries. The S20 comes in with a 4,000mAh battery, while the S20+ comes in with a slightly larger 4,500mAh battery. However, the real showstopper is the S20 Ultra, which comes with an massive 5,000mAh battery. All of these devices will support fast charging, 25 watts out of the box, and there may be a 45-watt charger available that you'd have to buy separately. Additionally, all devices will also support fast wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging, where you're going to be able to charge other devices like the Galaxy Buds+ on the S20s.
When are we officially going to hear about the S20s? Well, the Unpacked date is set for the 11th of February, and I am going to be doing lots of coverage, hands-on, from there. So once again, make sure you've subscribed, and hit that bell icon so you don't miss any of that coverage. For pricing, still a bit of a question mark, but we're looking at between $900 to $1,000 for the S20, between $1,000 to $1,100 for the S20+, and for the S20 Ultra, around $1,200 to $1,300. These prices will vary depending on your region, and the 5G variants will be more expensive than the base, 4G variant of the S20 and S20+.
**Samsung Galaxy Z Flip: Another Folding Flagship?**
But that's not all we know about Samsung's upcoming flagship devices. There are also some bonus leaks and rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which is Samsung's second foldable device. It's more of a clamshell design compared to the tablet-phone factor that we had on the Galaxy Fold. We have lots of leaks, specs for this, too, so it looks like we're going to have a 6.7-inch, full HD+ AMOLED foldable display, and this is going to be on the Infinity O design once again, with a punchout for the front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Z Flip is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chip set, that's the previous chip set from Qualcomm with eight gigabytes of RAM, up to 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.0 storage, with micro SD card support, a 10-megapixel front-facing camera for the punchout, as well as dual 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras. One of these is going to be a primary wide camera, as well as an ultrawide camera, a small front display which is going to show you things like the time and your notifications, a 3,300mAh battery with support for wireless charging, as well as wireless reverse charging.
Rumored to come in at around $1,400, which will be undercutting the Motorola Razr, which is also a similar clamshell design, but this seems to have much better specs. This is also going to be announced at the Unpacked event on the 11th of February. So what do you guys think of the new S20s and the Z Flip, based on all of these leaks and rumors? Are you excited? Definitely let me know in the comments below.
I'm very, very excited. This is going to be the first big launch of the year, and it's going to start off a very interesting year in the smartphone space. I hope you enjoyed this video, and found it useful. If you did, then do hit that thumbs up for me, and if you haven't already, I know I keep saying it, but make sure you subscribe so you don't miss all of the hands-on coverage that's going to be coming with these devices.
Thanks for watching. This is Saf, on SuperSaf TV, and I'll see you next time.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- With just over a week leftbefore the official launchof the Samsung GalaxyS20s, we pretty much knoweverything there is to know. What's up, guys?Saf here on SuperSaf TV, andwe're going to break downall of the leaks andrumors, SuperSaf style,so you know exactly what to expect. There's also going to be somebonus facts towards the endof this video, so stick around for that.So first up, naming.Yes, the new Samsung GalaxyS series is going to bereferred to as the S20series, not the S11s.We're in the year 2020.It looks like Samsung isgoing in line with that, and also, because we do havequite significant updatescompared to last year. This is all but confirmed. We've already seen the S20 brandingon some leaked renders,as well as a bootup screenon an S20+ device. Now, this year, like we had last year,we are going to have threeSamsung Galaxy S20 devices, the S20, the S20+, aswell as the S20 Ultra. Now, the S20 and theS20+ are going to come in4G or 5G versions, but itlooks like according to rumorsthe S20 Ultra is justgoing to be availablein a 5G version. Now, let's talk aboutdisplays, so firstly, the sizes, the S20 isgoing to be the smallestwith a 6.2-inch display. The S20+ with a 6.7-inchdisplay, and the S20 Ultrawith a massive 6.9-inch display. We're almost getting intotablet size category here, but of course, the bezels aregoing to be very, very small, smaller than what we'vehad in previous years. This is going to give usa 20 by nine aspect ratio, which is also slightly longer compared towhat we had last year. Now, all three displaysare going to be followingSamsung's Infinity O design, sowe're going to have a punch outfor the front-facingcamera, and this means thatmy wallpaper from theNote 10 should still workon all of these devices, which I'm very excited about.Okay, so besides that, all of these displaysare going to be Dynamic AMOLED displayswith quad HD plus resolution,so they're going to be sharp, vibrant, some of the bestdisplays in the market, and this year, they areall going to be supporting120 Hertz refresh rates. This is something that Samsungdidn't include last year,so very excited to havethat smooth refresh rateon the new S20s, however, there is a catch. From all the leaks andrumors that we've seenright now it seems likewhen you do go onto120 Hertz, you are going tobe limited to full HD plus, not quad HD plus, so detailsare not going to be as sharp. Now, I don't think thisis going to be a huge dealfor a lot of people, andI'm not sure why Samsunghas done this.Maybe it's to save in battery life, maybe it's the technicallimitations of having 120 Hertz.Remember one plus deviceslast year only hadup to 90 Hertz with thatquad HD plus resolution,so maybe when we getinto 120 Hertz this year, anyway, you can only go fora full HD plus resolution, but nevertheless, I'msuper excited about thesesmooth, smooth displays. All right, now, let'stalk about the builds. Some of you may be pleasedto know that althoughthe devices are goingto have curved displays, they're not going to be ascurved as what we've hadin previous years. The recent trend seemsto be waterfall displays, which are very, verycurved towards the edges, but it looks like Samsung isactually going away from that, and going for somethingthat's still curved, but not as curved as before. We're still going to havea metal and glass sandwich, however, for the S20 andS20+, the frame is going to bealuminum, and for the S20Ultra, we are going to havea stainless steel frame, being the more premium device. All of the devices will beIP68 water and dust resistant, but we do have a majorimprovement, and that's thatyou're going to be ableto submerge these in waterup to five meters, whichis a big improvementcompared to the around1.5 meters that we've hadin previous years. Now, let's talk about thecameras, and this is where thingsget very, very exciting, sofirstly, the camera designis very different fromwhat we've had previously. This is going to be onthe left-handed side, and it's going to be arectangular camera module. Now, for the cameras themselves, the S20and the S20+ have verysimilar camera setups,so we've got three main cameras, and the primary camera isgoing to be 12 megapixels. Now, this is going tohave a larger sensor sizecompared to what we'vehad in previous years,so this is going to be areally good improvement, and then, we're going tohave an ultrawide camera, also at 12 megapixels. This seems to be similar to what we've hadin previous years, andfinally, we're going to havea 64 megapixel telephoto camera, which is going to give youup to three times opticalzoom, and up to 30 timesdigital zoom, so that's animprovement on the two timesthat we've had in previous years. The S20+ is also going tohave a time-of-flight sensor. This is something thatwe're not going to haveon the regular S20.Time-of-flight sensors helpwith depth information,so this should give youbetter portraits on the S20+,but the biggest improvementscome on the S20 Ultra, and that's because the primary camera isa 108 megapixel camera. This is using Samsung's new sensor, and that amount of resolution isgoing to be absolutely insane. There's also an improvementfor the telephoto camera. This is going to be usingperiscope zoom technology,48 megapixels, with upto 10 times optical zoom, and up to 100 times digitalzoom, so this is doubleof the periscope zoom thatwe saw introduced by Huaweilast year with the P30 Pro.It's going to let you getin super, super close.I cannot wait to test these cameras out.Of course, we're going to bedoing lots of SuperSaf stylecamera comparisons and if youdo want to see those first, then be sure to subscribe, and hit that bell iconso you don't miss that coverage. The S20 Ultra, of course,is also going to havethe 12 megapixel ultrawidecamera, as well as thetime-of-flight sensor, and onthe side of video, as well,we've got some major improvements. We've got 8K, and upto 30 frames per secondacross all these devices, which is going to be absolutely insane.Cannot wait to test this out,as well as the pro video mode.So this is going to be reintroduced, and it's going to give youmanual controls over video. Now, for the front-facingcamera, the S20 and S20+,10 megapixels, a similarsensor to what we had last yearon the S10s, as well as the Note 10.The S20 Ultra, once again, going bigger and betterwith a 40 megapixel front-facing camera. We're going to have 4K,60 frames per secondacross all of these, allthe front-facing cameras. This is an improvement onthe 4K 30 frames per secondthat we had last year. All right, now, let's talk alittle bit about the internals. These devices are going tobe powered by either theQualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip sets,or Samsung's Exynos 990,so it looks like once againthis year, we might stillhave some inconsistencybetween the performance of the devices.I'm going to try to geta hold of both variants,so then, I can give yousome proper opinionsin my reviews, as always, but regardless,I'm confident that theseare going to be some of thefastest devices out there. For RAM, we've got 12 gigabytesas a base for all of these, but the S20 Ultra, onceagain, going larger than life, and it's going to have a variantwith up to 16 gigabytes of RAM.For storage, it looks like theS20 and S20+ are going to comewith a base of 128 gigabytes, with an option of 256 gigabytes available. The S20 Ultra, onceagain, 128 gigabyte space, but up to 512 gigabytes. All of these are goingto have UFS 3.0 storage, they're going to be superfast, as well as micro SD cardsupport, so that is quiteinteresting that all of theseare rumored to have themicro SD card support, and that may mean thatyou're going to be able toget a maximum of 1.5 terabytes of storageon the S20 Ultra, whichis absolutely insane. Now, for audio, unfortunately, from all the leaks, rumors, and renders, it looks like Samsungis saying goodbye to the 3.5MM jacks, so on the S series, the S10s last year were thelast ones to support this. This is now time to say goodbye, however, we are going tohave USB-C earphones, tunedby AKG, out of the boxon all of these devices, aswell as, there are speakerstuned by AKG.Now, Samsung is alsogoing to be announcingthe Galaxy Buds+, so thisis the second versionof their Galaxy Buds, which I've really beena big fan of, however,it looks like these are not going to haveactive noise cancellation, unfortunately, but they will haveimproved mics, as well asimproved battery life, and if you do pre-orderthe S20 Ultra, at least, itlooks like Samsung shouldbe including the GalaxyBuds+ out of the box. Now, for the fingerprintscanner, it looks likeSamsung is still stickingto the ultrasonic in-displayfingerprint scanner that we had last year, and they're not going tobe going for Qualcomm's3D Sonic Max, which I wasdefinitely hoping for. This gives you a much largerarea, and it also gives youtwo finger support forextra security, however, unfortunately, this isnot going to be comingto the S20 series.Maybe it will be comingto the Note 20 series. Now, for the batteries, the good news is thatall of these devices aregoing to be packing some big,big batteries, the S20coming in with 4,000 MAH,4,500 for the S20+, andthe S20 Ultra coming inwith a massive 5,000 MAH.All of these are goingto support fast charging,25 watts out of the box, andthere may be a 45-watt chargeravailable that you'dhave to buy separately. All devices are going tosupport fast wireless charging,as well as reverse wirelesscharging, where you're going tobe able to charge otherdevices like the Galaxy Buds+on the S20s.Right, so when are weofficially going to hearabout the S20s?Well, the Unpacked date isset for the 11th of Feb,and I am going to be doinglots of coverage, hands on,from there, so onceagain, make sure you havesubscribed, and hit thatbell icon so you don'tmiss any of thatcoverage, and for pricing, still a bit of a questionmark, but we're looking atbetween $900 to $1,000 for the S20,between $1,000 to $1,100 for the S20+,and for the S20 Ultra, around $1,200 to $1,300.Now, these will, of course, vary depending on your region, and the 5G variants will be more expensiveto the base, 4G variantsof the S20 and S20+,and for the release date, it looks likearound the 6th of March,so quite a big gapbetween Unpacked and theofficial release of the S20s.All right, so that ispretty much everythingthat we know about the S20s,but don't go anywhere yet.As mentioned towards thebeginning of this video, there are some bonus leaks and rumors, and these are around theSamsung Galaxy Z Flip. This is Samsung's second foldable device, and it's more of a clamshell design, compared to the tabletphone factor that we hadon the Galaxy Fold, andwe have lots of leaks, specs for this, too, so itlooks like we're going to havea 6.7-inch, full HD plusAMOLED foldable display, and this is going to beon the Infinity O designonce again, with the punchoutfor the front-facing camera. It's going to be powered bythe Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+chip set, that's the previous chip setfrom Qualcomm with eight gigabytes of RAM,up to 256 gigabytes of UFS, 3.0 storage, with micro SD card support, a 10 megapixelfront-facing camera for the punchout,as well as dual 12 megapixelrear-facing cameras. One of these is going tobe a primary wide camera,as well as an ultrawide camera,a small front display, which is going to show youthings like the timeand your notifications,a 3,300 MAH battery withsupport for wireless charging,as well as wireless reversecharging, and that's roughlywhat we know about theSamsung Galaxy Z Flip, rumored to come in ataround $1,400, which will beundercutting the MotorolaRazr, which is alsoa similar clamshell design, but this seems to havemuch, much better specs,so this is something thatI am definitely also excited to check out. This is also going to beannounced at the Unpacked eventon the 11th of February. So what do you guys think of the new S20s,and the Z Flip, based on allof these leaks and rumors? Are you excited?Definitely let me knowin the comments below.I'm very, very excited. This is going to be thefirst big launch of the year, and it's going to start offa very, very interesting yearin the smartphone space.I hope you enjoyed thisvideo, and found it useful. If you did, then do hitthat thumbs up for me,and if you haven't already,I know I keep saying it,but make sure you dosubscribe so you don't missall of the hands on coveragethat's going to be comingwith these devices. Thanks for watching. This is Saf, on SuperSaf TV,and I'll see you next
