The MSI Prestige Laptops: A Revolution in Portable Power and Performance

The latest addition to MSI's lineup is the Prestige series, a range of laptops that are designed to cater to the needs of creatives, gamers, and anyone who requires a powerful machine on-the-go. At the heart of this series is the PS 42, a compact powerhouse that packs a punch despite its small size. Weighing in at just over 2 pounds and measuring under 16 millimeters in thickness, the PS 42 is the perfect travel companion for those who need a reliable laptop that can handle demanding tasks such as full HD video editing, Photoshop work, and even some light gaming.

The PS 42 boasts an impressive specification sheet, featuring an Intel Core i7-8558 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 discreet graphics chip, 16 gigs of RAM, and 512 gigs of storage. This combination provides more than enough power to handle demanding tasks without breaking the bank. The laptop also features a range of ports, including two USB Type-C, one SD card reader, and other connectivity options that make it easy to transfer files or connect external peripherals.

One of the standout features of the PS 42 is its responsiveness, thanks to the chiclet-style keyboard and precision touchpad. The built-in fingerprint reader supports Windows Hello, making it easy to log in with a single scan. The matte IPS panel provides decent color accuracy, covering 99% of the sRGB color gamut, while the lightweight construction makes it easy to carry around.

For those who require even more power and performance, MSI's Prestige series also includes the P 65 Creator. This larger laptop takes things up a notch, featuring an Intel Core i7-78750H processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics card, and 16 gigs of RAM. The P 65 is designed to handle demanding tasks such as 4K video editing and gaming at high refresh rates.

The P 65 boasts a stunning display with a 144Hz refresh rate, providing an immersive gaming experience that's unmatched by most laptops on the market today. This means everything feels super smooth and responsive, making it ideal for gamers who want the best possible performance without sacrificing portability. The full HD resolution ensures a solid framerate, even at high frame rates.

In terms of design, both the PS 42 and P 65 are stunning machines that turn heads wherever they go. The limited edition white color is particularly noteworthy, with MSI claiming it's a very limited quantity available for those who want to get their hands on one before they're gone. Unfortunately, if you do manage to snag a white one, you'll be one of the lucky few.

One feature that sets the P 65 apart from its smaller sibling is the range of ports it offers. In addition to the usual USB, HDMI, and Ethernet ports, the P 65 also includes an RJ45 Ethernet port, separate mic and headphone jacks, a main display port, and a USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity option. This makes it easy to hook up high-resolution monitors or plug in an external graphics card for more power.

MSI is also offering a Creator Bundle of Amps for both laptops, which includes software such as MAGIX Movie Edit, PaintShop Pro x9, and TubeBuddy Music Studio. While this bundle may not be essential for everyone, it's certainly worth considering if you plan on using the laptop for video editing or music production.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys I'm Tom the tech chap and I think it's fair to say that MSI are best known for their gaming laptops but they've also now realized that a lot of people including myself really want a powerful laptop for other things as well like video editing 3d rendering Photoshop things like that and it also comes in a slightly more elegant and professional and classy design and that's where this new range of prestige laptops come in so I've got two of them here the 14 inch MSI PS 42 modern and the 15 inch P 65 creator and straightaway from the packaging to the striking metal designs with silver and white colours respectively these definitely stand out so the smaller PS 42 is all about portability but while also being more powerful in your typical Ultrabook it's one of the lightest 14 inch laptops you can buy weighing less than 1.2 kilograms that's about 2.6 pounds and it's just under 16 millimetres thick so this is a great little travel laptop it's also powerful enough for full HD video editing Photoshop work and even some like gaming the model I've got here has an Intel 8 jane quad core i7 8558 processor an nvidia geforce MX 150 discreet graphics chip which is much faster than Intel integrated graphics 16 gigs of ram and 512 gigs of storage all while offering up to 10 hours of battery life there's a solid range of ports including two USB type-c s although they're not Thunderbolt 3 and an SD card reader which is handy for transferring my files straight for my camera overall it's just nice to use with a responsive chiclet style keyboard a precision touchpad with built in a fingerprint reader that supports Windows hello and I'm really glad they went with a matte IPS panel so you don't have to worry as much about reflections and you get decent color accuracy it covers 99% of the srgb color gamut so the MS IPS 42 starts at about 900 pounds with an i5 but this high spec model I've got here will say you back about 1300 but what about is bigger brother the P 65 creator for me this is the one I'm most excited about because it's I will step up in terms of specs and performance and so on who creates an edit 4k video and likes to play some you know top-end games and heist from time to time this is kind of exactly what I want inside this one I've got an 8th gen I 78750 H that's a 6 core processor an nvidia geforce gtx 1070 max-q graphics card and 16 gigs of ram and while these prestige laptops may be aimed at creators gamers are gonna love them too especially with the p65 144 hertz refresh rate so everything feels super smooth and the full HD resolution means you still get a solid framerate it's also just a really really good-looking laptop and it comes in either silver or this beautiful limited edition white color which I'm a huge fan of although unfortunately MSI say it is a very limited quantity of these so if you do manage to get a white one then well you've done well and also one like black laptops this doesn't show up ugly grease marks or finger prints the p65 is still reasonably portable - it weighs 1.88 kilograms and comes in a little under 18 millimeters thick so the PS 42 and the P 65 have a lot in common including the same keyboard touch pad fingerprint reader although you do get a better port selection on the P 65 including an rj45 Ethernet separate mic and headphone jacks a main display port and most importantly a USB C with Thunderbolt 3 port so you can hook up high resolution monitors or even plug in an external graphics card for more power it's also got super thin bezels and an IPS matte screen covering 99 percent srgb and while the 4k option might have been nice 1080p with this 144 Hertz refresh is much better for gaming if you buy one of these before the end of 2018 msi are also offering a creator bundle of amps for both laptops which is worth about 400 pounds and you get things like MAGIX Movie Edit PaintShop Pro x9 and sampler tube music studio you can of course just uninstall them if you prefer but that could be useful I personally use Adobe Premiere Pro for my video editing and I found the PS 42 ideal for Taney piercing while the more powerful P 65 suited me as I shoot in 4k but as you would expect given the specs of the P 65 it is a fair bit more expensive starting at 1,700 pounds for the entry-level model with a gtx 1050 TI so that's just a quick look at the new MSI prestige range of laptops they're beautiful machines and it is really good to see that MSA are often something just a bit different for people who want a thin and light travel laptop or a powerful editing and gaming machine but all well in a slim and stylish chassis what do you think though do you like the style and which one of these would you go for let me know in the comments below I have put links in the description if you want to find out more or buy one of these laptops thank you so much for watching guys don't forget to Like and subscribe if you want to see more of my videos and see you next time right here on the tech churehey guys I'm Tom the tech chap and I think it's fair to say that MSI are best known for their gaming laptops but they've also now realized that a lot of people including myself really want a powerful laptop for other things as well like video editing 3d rendering Photoshop things like that and it also comes in a slightly more elegant and professional and classy design and that's where this new range of prestige laptops come in so I've got two of them here the 14 inch MSI PS 42 modern and the 15 inch P 65 creator and straightaway from the packaging to the striking metal designs with silver and white colours respectively these definitely stand out so the smaller PS 42 is all about portability but while also being more powerful in your typical Ultrabook it's one of the lightest 14 inch laptops you can buy weighing less than 1.2 kilograms that's about 2.6 pounds and it's just under 16 millimetres thick so this is a great little travel laptop it's also powerful enough for full HD video editing Photoshop work and even some like gaming the model I've got here has an Intel 8 jane quad core i7 8558 processor an nvidia geforce MX 150 discreet graphics chip which is much faster than Intel integrated graphics 16 gigs of ram and 512 gigs of storage all while offering up to 10 hours of battery life there's a solid range of ports including two USB type-c s although they're not Thunderbolt 3 and an SD card reader which is handy for transferring my files straight for my camera overall it's just nice to use with a responsive chiclet style keyboard a precision touchpad with built in a fingerprint reader that supports Windows hello and I'm really glad they went with a matte IPS panel so you don't have to worry as much about reflections and you get decent color accuracy it covers 99% of the srgb color gamut so the MS IPS 42 starts at about 900 pounds with an i5 but this high spec model I've got here will say you back about 1300 but what about is bigger brother the P 65 creator for me this is the one I'm most excited about because it's I will step up in terms of specs and performance and so on who creates an edit 4k video and likes to play some you know top-end games and heist from time to time this is kind of exactly what I want inside this one I've got an 8th gen I 78750 H that's a 6 core processor an nvidia geforce gtx 1070 max-q graphics card and 16 gigs of ram and while these prestige laptops may be aimed at creators gamers are gonna love them too especially with the p65 144 hertz refresh rate so everything feels super smooth and the full HD resolution means you still get a solid framerate it's also just a really really good-looking laptop and it comes in either silver or this beautiful limited edition white color which I'm a huge fan of although unfortunately MSI say it is a very limited quantity of these so if you do manage to get a white one then well you've done well and also one like black laptops this doesn't show up ugly grease marks or finger prints the p65 is still reasonably portable -
