Tech has come a long way and budget graphics cards would have no trouble maxing out any almost decade old game now I wanted to do this because it should give you guys a good idea of which budget card would make a good choice as well so let's get into it.
The cards we'll be using today are the GTX 750 Ti, GTX 950, RX 460, and the new 1050. The cheaper and still very capable option of the two budget TH00 series cards we're also using our X4 860K which is an ideal budget choice and doesn't cause any bottlenecking with any of these cards.
First up we have our 750 Ti priced at around $15 or £99. This popular low-cost GPU released in 2014 and I would have very little trouble recommending it even today it features 2 GB of vram and the version we're using along with most of them doesn't require an external power input making it a great low power solution.
So let's get into full HD 1080P and maximum settings across the board here and the game runs at around 27 frames per second on average but it looks fantastic to be honest I think we're off to a very good start. And of course lowering the settings would increase FPS for a more enjoyable experience that goes for all and any graphics cards of course but for the purpose of this video it was much more fun to max the game out so let's move on.
Next up we have our GTX 950 again this card features 2 GB of vram and can be found for around $140 or £130. This is also the better performer here as to be expected hitting 34 frames per second on average. The averages here were worked out by testing each card for an hour and playing a few fairly action-packed levels.
The RX460 is up next this comes in either a 2 GB or 4 GB variant but we're using the 2 GB model here as it seems to be more widely available and a bit cheaper at least where I live. I've used both previously and to be honest never noticed that big of a difference an average frame rate of 37 means that whilst this card does outperform the 950 it's also a little bit cheaper from the prices I've seen at just $110 or £90.
So it wasn't so long ago that I feel that this was a little bit overpriced so it's nice to see the drop especially with the holidays coming up. Last and by no means least we've got the most recent release the 1050 an excellent choice that would make a great addition to any pre-built or budget system to bring you an out-of-the-box gaming experience we went for this as opposed to the 1050 TI as it's cheaper and seems to be more widely available again at least where I live.
So with all of crisis here we're seeing 39 frames per second on this $115 or £110 card. It's quite amazing that even though these modern budget cards were able to run crisis at the maximum settings any other game from the same year probably would have been touching 60 or even over it most of the time which just goes to show you not only how far cheaper tech has come but how demanding and intensive this game really was so much so that it's still considered a suitable benchmark today.
As for the cards they're all great budget choices but it's between the RX460 and 1050 especially given AMD's recent price drop on the former if you wanted to spend a little more for the 1050 TI then that would obviously be the best option but if you're looking to treat yourself this holiday season while still sticking to a sensible budget then you know what to do now.
I'm off to actually enjoy the story of Crisis for the first ever time and not just look at the fancy foliage so thank you so much for watching guys I hope you've enjoyed this little look back at crisis as well as seeing how it ran on a few modern budget graphics cards. um Thanks again for all the support on this channel recently my uh special video for 50,000 subscribers should actually be coming out either tomorrow or the day after if you like this video click that like button if you didn't enjoy it that much click dislike and hopefully I'll see all of you in the next one or almost forgot don't forget to subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone and welcome to another video now back in 2007 crisis bought many PCs to their knees this was in some respects a landmark title that really showed off how far PC visuals could be pushed but that could also be seen as a bad thing I don't know about you but when this first released I was so obsessed with seeing how far I could push this graphical powerhouse on my way less than minimum requirement system at the time that I never really took in the story or it's characters it was a thrill to turn everything way up and get a glimpse of how good this game would look at very high settings despite probably hitting five frames per second I had seen the future and it was pretty amazing but here's the thing not many games even today can match the standard that crisis set Graphics wise except well crisis 2 and Crisis 3 and they run better on PC than the original maybe it's because most game developers including krych themselves have to keep consoles in mind or maybe it's because there's not really any sense in developing a game that not many people can run regardless of all this almost a decade on and you'd think that even recently released budget graphics cards should be able to Max it out I mean Tech has come a long way and budget graphics cards would have no trouble maxing out any other almost decade old game now I wanted to the better performer here as to be expected hitting 34 frames per second on average the averages here were worked out by testing each card for an hour and playing a few fairly action-packed levels the 950 despite not actually offering that many more frames does feel quite a bit smoother I think it's creeping over that 30 frames per second threshold that does the trick the rx460 is up next this in the UK probably making it the Best Buy so far out of these three it wasn't so long ago that I feel that this was a little bit overpriced so it's nice to see the drop especially with the holidays coming up so last and by no means least we've got the most recent release the 1050 an excellent choice that would make a great addition to any pre-built or budget system to bring you an outof the-box
