**The Brightness of Lights**

"Okay, that's pretty bright," said one of the friends as they tested out a new set of lights.

"That's pretty bright," agreed another friend. "It's like daylight out there."

"This light is more of a flood," observed a third friend. "More of a flood light."

"It's not just a light, it's a flood light," said one of the friends with a chuckle.

"What does it look like coming on?" asked a curious friend. "I wanna see how scary you look."

"I feel pretty good for 80 bucks, I don't think you'd be any happier than that," said another friend.

As they continued to test out different lights, one of the friends exclaimed, "This is scary, dude!" Another friend chimed in, "Oh my God!"

The group then decided to compare their lights with a more expensive setup from KC Lights. The results were striking - the KC Lights setup produced a much brighter and more focused beam.

"Damn, that's a spread," said one of the friends as they gazed at the light's coverage area.

"So we've got maybe more of throw out like the electrical boxes out there," observed another friend.

"It looks more focused," said a third friend. "Yeah, our beam pattern I think is supposed to be a bit narrower and that's even what it says."

The group then tested out the high truck light setting, which produced an impressive 320 lux of light. This was compared to the 150 lux of the low truck light setting.

"It's over double," exclaimed one of the friends. "It's like using little LED pods that we have on top of these cameras versus using full studio lights."

The group then decided to take their lights on a trip to see how usable they were in different situations.

As they continued to test out the lights, one of the friends exclaimed, "Damn, I mean it is like night and day!"

"What do you think?" asked another friend. "Is more expensive better?"

"Absolutely," replied Nolan. "More expensive means better."

The group then compared their lights with a $1,500 setup from KC Lights, which produced an impressive light beam.

"This is one of those spots where if I'm honest, this is it, man," said one of the friends.

"So, does more expensive mean more better?" asked another friend.

"Why are you thinking so hard?" replied Nolan. "What's there to think about?"

The group then concluded that while their LED set up was less expensive at $90, the KC Lights setup produced a much brighter and more focused beam.

"Your LED set up is 10 times cheaper," said one of the friends. "But I think our lights look cooler."

"Yeah, looks count for a lot in this case," agreed another friend.

that we runinto time and time again, with more expensiveparts, is adjustability.Low team has a light barthat they bought from Spencer's Gifts. It's the shape that itis, it goes where it goes,it's gonna outside lights pointtowards the sides of the road, and then full radius, whichis essentially a rainbow, every light has a littlebit of degree to it.Again, it's probably gonna takea little bit more time to set up,but in the long run, we'regonna have exactly what we needwhen we need it, and tome, that's worth the money.- Well, that'll definitely work.- Dude, that looks so cool.- We've got the theseguys have to go through?- Yeah.(car horn honks)Wow.- Scale this from one to10, this is like a three.- Yeah, it was--- Very easy.- So this is Is about asmuch downward tilt as we havejust because of the fairing, but I think they look badass. This thing finally looks like a toy truckand that was the dream all along.(drill whirring)- Still have to wire themwhich is gonna be aboutjust as much work past workis paying off big time right now.The switch panel that we installedwith the air compressor and the lockers, having this switch box installedgives me a really easy optionfor wiring up these lights.I can just cut off most ofthe wiring of these lightsand wire them straight into this box,and then they'll work from my switch panelthat's already installed. All that time spent,it's really paying off.♪ Get trucked up and call your mum ♪♪ Get trucked up and call your mom ♪♪ And tell your mom to get trucked ♪♪ And then put grandmaon the phone and say ♪♪ Hey or lady, get trucked ♪- Hell yeah, dude.Good song.- Let's talk about some specs. The light bar on high truck is ratedat a brightness of 16,100 lumens, sounds pretty bright, right?Well, this guy right hereis rated at 57,600 lumens, not bad for $80.However, a high lumens ratingdoes not a good light bar make.Lumens are just measuredoff of the bulbs themselves, the little LED cells thatyou can see in our light bar.Lumens does not taking into accountthe housing that the lights are in,so that would be each ofthese individual mirrorkind of cones that they're living in.So, just because it has asuper high number does not some debate as towhich metric is the bestfor measuring brightness, but I think for our purposes,it sounds like lux isprobably the best onebecause we wanna be ableto throw a lot of lighta very far
