Rescuing Richard Hammond's Subaru Impreza from the secret Grand Tour compound!

The Dream of Owning a Subaru

For many car enthusiasts, owning a Subaru is a dream come true. The company's reputation for building rugged and reliable vehicles has made it a favorite among off-road enthusiasts and families alike. However, as Richard noted, Subarus can be notoriously difficult to work on, with complex engine designs and tricky repair jobs.

Despite the challenges, Richard has always been fascinated by Subarus. He has played with several Subaru models over the years, including a few that had issues with oil leaks and rocker covers. "Subarus are horrible to work on," he said with a laugh. "But they're every boy's dream car." Richard's love of Subarus dates back to his days racing in Conor McRae, where he competed against other talented drivers from around the world.

Richard recently took us on a tour of his secret barn, where we found a stunning 2004 Subaru that had been modified for performance. The car was a true JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) model, with a number of unique features that set it apart from more conventional Subarus. "This is my dream car," Richard said, eyes shining with excitement. "I'd restore it back to factory condition and make sure everything is perfect."

As we explored the barn, Richard pointed out some of the car's key features, including its iconic yellow headlights and flat bottom engine mount. The car also had a number of unique modifications under the hood, including a high-performance engine that was rumored to produce over 500 horsepower.

Richard's love of Subarus is not just about the cars themselves, but about the community surrounding them. "There are so many talented mechanics out there who are passionate about Subaru," he said. "I'd love to get involved with some of these guys and build a car that would make everyone jealous." For Richard, owning a Subaru is not just about personal preference – it's also about being part of a larger community of enthusiasts who share his passion.

The Future of the Cog

Despite his love of Subarus, Richard knows that he needs to mix things up in his workshop. "I've got a small Cog collection at the moment," he said, "but I think it's time to add some new cars to the lineup." Richard has hinted that one car that will be joining the drivetribe garage is a modern Subaru, which will add a fresh perspective to the team.

"I'm excited about this," Richard said. "It'll be great to have something more contemporary in the workshop, and I think it'll help us stay ahead of the curve." With his passion for Subarus and commitment to building high-performance cars, Richard is sure to bring a new level of expertise to the drivetribe garage.

The Drivetribe Garage: Where Passion Meets Performance

For Richard, owning a car collection is not just about personal enjoyment – it's also about sharing that passion with others. His driveway is home to a diverse range of vehicles, each one carefully selected for its unique character and performance capabilities.

From the rugged Subarus of Conor McRae fame to the sleek, modern cars of today, Richard's garage is a showcase of automotive excellence. With his team of talented mechanics and engineers, he is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with these incredible machines.

As we explore the garage, it becomes clear that Richard's love of cars goes far beyond mere enthusiasm – it's about a deep passion for performance, engineering, and community. Whether he's tinkering under the hood or sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts, Richard is a true driving force in the world of motorsports.
