How to get Gwen Stefani's Soft Curly, Big Hair

Creating Big Hair Like Gwen Stefani: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hey guys, so today we're going to do a tutorial on how to get big hair like Gwen Stefani's. Gwen Stefani is a beautiful woman and she has beautiful hair, and beautiful makeup in every single video that I've done in the past. It was a little bit less beautiful, but still, um, really beautiful. In my rock chick video, I have one picture on Daily Booth with really big hair, and um, like everyone wanted to know how I did it, so today I'm showing you how I did it.

To start, we're going to apply a heat protectant thing, and I'm going to use my Cheese silk infusion. Just put that in your hair mainly in the ends, because that is where your hair is most damaged. Once you've applied that, you're going to take a big brush and then just brush your hair to get it everywhere. The heat protection thing we're using is from the hi shop, and this one's by Elevate - it's a 1/4 in curling iron. This is my new baby, um I love it.

I'm going to follow the highest point of my arch up, so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to make three big curls on our hair and then clip them back so it stays on. We're going to make one here, we're going to make one in the back, and we're going to make one here, and that already gives like a lot of like texture and curl to the hair but not too much. And then from there on, we can work even further with it.

I'm going to show you one and then the other two, I probably going to speed forward or something. You're going to take a strand of hair like that, so something like that. Um, I learned a great trick from one of my friends - she told me if you want to curl outwards, keep the clamp in front, whatever you do, keep it in front. So, first I'm going to go through the entire hair then go in a bit and go a little bit further until the entire hair is in it like most of it.

As you can see, most of it is in now. The other just wrap it around, okay? Now, you clamp it out and now you're going to pin it back so you're going to do that. We want our curls to be nice and tight, not too loosey-goosey. That's the trick to big hair.

Now, let's talk about teasing. I know some of you might be thinking, "Teasing? Isn't that bad for your hair?" And yes, it can be. But a little bit of teasing can go a long way in adding volume and texture to your hair. So, we're going to tease the back of our hair just a bit more, and then we'll use some hairspray to keep everything in place.

I'm going to grab my secret ingredient - this is Osis Plus by Schwartz. This powder is called Dust It, and what this does is make your hair really rough and textured, and adds volume like no other. I'm just going to apply that to some places you see the powder Rook it in and the hair gets so textured that you can do anything with it.

One downside to using Dust It is that it makes your hair kind greasy because it's a powder. But don't worry, there are plenty of ways to counteract this. Just use some dry shampoo or texturizing spray to absorb any excess oil and add more volume to your hair. Now, let's brush out some of those curls to make them nice and soft.

For Big Hair, we're going to tease the overall a bit more, and then flip it over - that's going to be dramatic as hell, and I love it! And finally, for the finishing touch, let's add a lot of hairspray to make it stay where it is. With this hairspray, you can like scrunch it a bit and make it even more. Look at it - put some airspace crunch big hair!

Creating Big Hair Like Gwen Stefani: Tips and Tricks

If you completely hate Big Hair, don't worry! There are plenty of tips and tricks to take away from this video that you can use to create soft curls on top or volume at the bottom. Just remember, when it comes to big hair, you want to start with a strong foundation - so make sure to use a heat protectant spray and brush your hair thoroughly before you begin.

One thing I learned from using Dust It is that it's not just about adding volume, but also texture and roughness. This powder can be used on its own or mixed with other products to create a unique look. Experimenting with different combinations of products will help you find the perfect balance for your hair type and style.

Finally, don't forget to scrunch your hair after applying hairspray - this is where the magic happens! By adding some texture and volume to your curls, you can achieve that Big Hair look without sacrificing all control.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys so today we're doing a tutorial on Gwen Stefani's big big hair Gwen Stefani is a beautiful woman and she has beautiful hair and beautiful makeup in every single video in the past it was a little bit less beautiful but still um in my rock chick video I have one picture on daily Booth with like really big hair and um like everyone wanted to know how I did it so today I'm showing you how I did it but today I added some more curls to make it more Gwen Stefani like so um if you want to know how to get this like big Gwen Stefani hair um or just take some tips and tricks on how to make like only this bigger or make these curls right here or make the curl right here if you just want to know how to like make your hair a little bit bigger at the top or the bottom or anything then please keep on watching so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to apply a heat protectant thing and I'm going to use my cheese silk infusion just put that in your hair mainly in the ends because that is where your hair is most damaged okay once you've applied that you're going to take a big big brush and then just brush your hair to get it um everywhere the heat protection thing the curling iron we're using is from the h i got it there at the um afro shop and um this and this is by Elevate it's a 1/4 in curling iron this is my new baby um I love it I love you part your uh front um I'm going to follow the highest point of my arch up so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to make three big curls on our hair and then clip them back so it stays on so we're going to make one here we're going to make one in the back and we're going to make one here and that already gives like a lot of like texture and curl to the hair but not too much and then from there on we can work even further with it I'm going to show you one and then the other two I'm probably going to like speed forward or something you're going to take a strand of hair like something like that so something like that um I learned a great trick from one of my friends she told me if you uh want to curl outwards keep the clamp in front so whatever you do keep it in front so here front front front so first I'm going to go through the entire hair then go in a bit and go a little bit further until the entire hair is in it like most of it so uh as you can see most of it is in now the other just wrap it around okay now you clamp it out and now you're going to pin it back so you're going to take that curl and push it up now clamp it down to your head like that so this is going to cool down and then when you take it out it stays like this bouncy curl as I said keep the clamp in the front so clamp your hair in it go through it entirely and then when you almost reach the end curl it in and go out and in you just want to make sure that the ends are completely in it and you do that by just um go through the entire hair and then clamp it in and then go back up so the ends go into the curling Island as well so you now have those three big curls and you're going to let them cool down in those clips and now we can work on the rest of the hair so you just take a little piece of hair okay little piece take your curling iron clamp forward and just curl some random loose strands but not all the way just like keep it like that so don't go all the way in just the ends a bit just curl them in a bit you want nothing like dramatic and that is going to stay like that so you're not going to go and clamp it up and do things with it just let it hang there now do this with more parts of your hair just to give it a nice General curl so curling iron go through there curl it in go a little bit out to get the ends in curl don't go entirely in because you're only doing that at the top and then wait you have to wait a lot with curling irons so you see those three curls right there let them hang don't do anything with them and just do the other side The Big Three curls right there I'll cool down so you're going to let them free so I'm going to divide it in some pieces and then curl it with the clam forward and do the same but then just with your bang area like that you can do this on the other side as well if you like if you have shorter hairs right there so what we're now going to do is tease a little bit of the back of the hair so I'm going to take a section and then spray some hairspray in it this is just the elnet spray it cool down a bit and tease then you already have a lot of volume at the back it's what you want and I'm going to grab my secret um ingredient this is osis plus by Schwartz this is going to be a no no now I'm going to take osis plus byz and this powder is called dust it and what this does it makes your hair really rough and textured and you can add volume like no other to your hair so I'm just going to apply that to some places you see the powder Rook it in and the hair gets so textured that you can do anything with it and look at it by just moving it a bit it stands up this powder if you want big hair without teasing it too much dust it um one downside to dust it it makes your hair kind greasy because it's a powder but it makes it greasy because it's so textured okay also in here such a weird powder but I love it now take a brush and brush some of those curls out to make them nice and soft and now for Big Hair just tease the overall a bit more and then this part right here we're going to flip it over and that is going to be dramatic as hell and I love it and then it's a Finishing Touch at a lot of hairspray to make it stay where it is man and with that hairspray you can like scrunch it a bit and make it even more look at it like put some airspace crunch big hair and that completes your big Grand safani inspired like soft curly just like big hair if you completely hate big hair you can just take some tips and tricks out of this video just like uh get some of this osis plus powder or how you can make like soft curls on the top like the three things I did or like at the bottom so you don't have to make it as big as ey it it's just um when I go big I want it to be me big so thank you guys so much for watching and that is how I did my daily Booth hair but at the daily Booth picture it was a little bit more straight but that is basically how I did it so I hope you guys enjoyed and I love you bye\n"
