Fifine budget USB microphone K668 Review

**Five Fine K-668 Microphone Review**

In this review, I'll be discussing my experience with the Five Fine K-668 microphone, which has been a game-changer for me while gaming and streaming.

Initially, I was excited to get my hands on this microphone because it has a removable stand that allows you to mount it to a tripod. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that this basic tripod stand limits your positioning options, making it difficult to place the microphone in a comfortable spot.

The USB cable is attached to the base of the microphone, which means it's not replaceable. This could be considered a point of failure on the microphone, especially considering that some Blue microphones have similar issues with their USB ports breaking frequently.

One major omission on the body of the microphone is a physical gain knob. As someone who enjoys gaming and streaming, I find this to be a significant issue because my speaking voice varies in volume, and without a physical gain knob, it's difficult to adjust the levels properly.

**Sound Quality**

Despite the limitations mentioned above, the sound quality of the Five Fine K-668 microphone is surprisingly good. I've been using it in a very noisy room, with traffic noise being a significant concern, but the noise rejection has been decent.

To test the keyboard noise pickup, I conducted a quick typing test on the Cherry MX Blue switches, which are notorious for their loud and clicky sound. As expected, the microphone picked up some of the keyboard noise, but it wasn't unbearable.

**Comparison with Higher-End Version**

For those who are interested in upgrading to a higher-end version, the Five Fine K-66 variant comes with a physical gain knob, which addresses one of my major concerns with this microphone. While it may be slightly more expensive than the K-668 model, I think it's worth considering for its improved features.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, while the Five Fine K-668 microphone has some limitations, such as the lack of a physical gain knob and the potential point of failure due to the non-replaceable USB cable, its sound quality is impressive. If you're on a tight budget or don't mind the limitations, this microphone might be a good choice for gaming and streaming.

However, if I were to recommend it, I would suggest considering the higher-end K-66 variant, which addresses some of the concerns mentioned above.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennow I recently got an email from a company called Fife I'm asking if I wanted to review their current best selling microphone on Amazon which goes for $22 I remember recently watching a video by Linus tech tips where they reviewed a bunch of microphones under $50 and there was a five fine microphone on that test that did really well I was honestly very impressed so I decided yeah I'd like to check out your entry-level microphone as you can see all of the audio in this video will be recorded using the microphone so this is the kind of audio quality that you can expect with it while you're up streaming or using it to shot at your teammates in multiplayer games or whatever it is that you're gonna use it for now before we get into the audio quality I just want to mention the packaging because this microphone is really well presented it comes in a very solid white box with some nice fine branding on it and then when you get the product out of the box it's just a microphone this little stand that I'm using now and in some documentation it also comes with a little wind like foam wind shield which I would recommend using now let's move on to the actual build quality honestly the microphone looks pretty microphone II there's nothing there's nothing much to say about its appearance it's fairly well made it doesn't feel super premium you know premium in the way that if you hit someone in the head with it that the person would die before the microphone does it doesn't feel like that but it feels more than well-made enough and then it comes with a screw in point for this little tripod one of the issues with this screw in point is that it's not a standard size or at least on my version it wasn't so I couldn't screw in a reducer so that I could mount it to a tripod which is a huge oversight in my opinion because this basic tripod stand kind of limits your positioning options it's got about a 1.8 meter long cable the USB cable is attached to the base of the microphone so it's not replaceable so that is actually a point of failure on the microphone but with some blue microphones so like there's a there's a snowball I think which is their entry-level microphone has like a us a square USB port in the back and apparently that USB port breaks quite a lot so I don't know apparently the removable ones also is a point of failure but that's just something to bear in mind other than that there's one big omission on the body of the microphone which is a physical gain knob that's something it's a big issue for me because I have a lot of like a variation in the loudness that I speak when you're gaming and you kind of have the mic and you see that the microphones clipping you can't actually physically do anything about it you have to like either alt-tab out of the game and change the microphone volume in Windows or change it in-game but if you do set the levels properly for your speaking voice it shouldn't be much of an issue so now let's move on to the sound quality and as you probably could have heard through the entire video I think it sounds really good the noise rejection is decent I'm sitting in a very noisy room I live on what is essentially a highway so I can hear a lot of traffic now and it definitely needs fairly good noise rejection because it has to sit quite close to your keyboard it means that it could pick up a lot of keyboard noise especially if you use a fairly noisy mechanical keyboard so I'm gonna do a quick test to simulate what it would sound like to your teammates or what it would sound like if you're streaming over the Internet and I just want to say that my conduct in the stream mock-up is a joke I I don't actually behave like that on the internet the way I have it set up now is the only way that puts the keyboard in a comfortable position for me and that does mean that the microphone is going to pick up some of the keyboard noise but that's kind of part of what I'm testing here now this keyboard uses Cherry MX blue switches which are specifically noisy yep so let's just do a quick keyboard noise test okay there's a guy right over there no go over just go around the corner there's a guy we can flank him if you look why aren't you listening to me I'm the only one on this team that actually knows what he's doing and now you're being a noob and not noob listening to me what do you mean I'm the noob you're the new bro this is every single time I play this game this happens and that's why every person that plays this game is a loser and I'm the only one that's cool am I am I the only person that gets shouted at like that while I'm gaming and then finally I just want to do a quick typing noise pickup test this is me doing a typing test of the five fine K 668 microphone this is if you really go to town on your keyboard while gaming what it would sound like now with all of that out the way let me know in the comment section below what do you think of the sound quality of this microphone and just the audio on this video I actually think the microphone sounds really good especially for twenty two dollars although the fact that it doesn't have a physical gain knob on it makes it really difficult for me to recommend this microphone if that's something that you don't really care about it and you only have twenty two dollars to spend on this microphone I think it's a really good purchase but I personally would spend a couple dollars extra and get the k66 nine variant which is the higher-end version of this microphone from five fine and it actually comes with a physical gain knob anyway thank you very much for watching this video if you liked that do like and subscribe to the channel for more videos like this one check out my
