**Holiday Book Recommendations**
As I sit down to write this article, I'm surrounded by stacks of books that I've been eager to read and review. The holiday season is upon us, and what better time to get cozy with some festive reads? In this article, I'll be sharing some holiday book recommendations that I hope will bring a smile to your face.
**Battle Royal**
I recently came across a book called Battle Royal by [Author's Name], which caught my attention. It's set in England and revolves around a character who was once on a popular British baking show but got kicked off after one week. The show's judge, who kind of voted her off the show, is now a young and brooding judge, and their dislike for each other blossoms into something more. As I'm writing this article, I don't know if I'll finish the book by the time it goes up, but I wanted to find a new one and that's called Battle Royal.
**Baking Books**
If you're looking for a video all about books that center on baking, let me know! I've done a whole video on this topic before, featuring titles like "The Great British Baking Show" and other books that combine baking with romance or drama. If you want to watch a video specifically about books with baking in them, I'd be happy to create one.
**Cozy Mystery**
I recently finished reading a cozy mystery called A Deadly Scoop by [Author's Name], which was set in the middle of winter and centered around an ice cream shop. The main character finds a dead body outside her shop, and from there, the story unfolds as she navigates her way through solving the mystery. As someone who's not a huge fan of cozy mysteries, I was surprised to find that I enjoyed this one.
**Second Chance Romance**
I've always been a big fan of second chance romance books, and recently came across two titles by [Author's Name] that I thought were particularly great: "Why" and "Then We". Both books are about friends who reconnect after years apart, and explore the complexities of their relationship. The first book, "Why", is about two friends who have been inseparable since college but never acted on their feelings until one of them gets into a car accident. The second book, "Then We", follows two friends who live together in adulthood but never quite took their friendship to the next level.
**Christmas Cheer**
One holiday book that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did is "So This Is Christmas" by Tracy Ann. It's about a character who attends a boarding school and returns home to her hometown of Christmas, where she runs into an old nemesis at school. The story takes place in the midst of the festive season, adding to its cozy atmosphere. As someone who loves holiday books, I'm always on the lookout for new titles that capture the spirit of the season.
**Personal Notes**
As I reflect on my holiday reading list, I realized that I've been reading a lot of books in my 30s and established careers. It's nice to see characters who are grown up and have found their footing in life, but still navigating love and relationships. Speaking of which, I'm currently reading "Oh, Crap! How Old Am I?" by [Author's Name], which is about a woman in her 30s finding herself caught between friendship and romance.
**Conclusion**
And that's it for now – my holiday book recommendations are out there, waiting to be devoured. Whether you're looking for cozy mysteries, second chance romances, or festive reads, I hope this article has given you some inspiration for your next read. If you have any favorite holiday books or authors, please let me know in the comments below!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today i am here to do another instagram recommendations video so i did this video for the first time a while ago and i really enjoyed it basically what it is i went on instagram and asked you guys to ask me for specific or the return of that word recommendations such as like best friends to lovers you know winter things like that and i got a lot of really great ones as always i can't talk about every single one i got on there because that's just would be we would be here forever which makes this a great series i have a few that i wanted to talk about so i'll link my previous ones down below i've done two of them and here we are doing the third installment and yeah let's just get right into it so first up i have book about single moms and for this one the one that jumped out to me is well matched by jen deluca it's the third book in her well-met series i think it's what it's called you don't have to read them in order honestly i mean it would help but honestly you don't have to this is basically about a single mom her daughter is about to graduate high school and so she lives in this very small town and she wants to kind of like you know she's lived in the small town for her daughter for forever and she wants to move out when she goes to college but she starts getting her house ready for like renovations to sell and stuff like that and she asked her really good friend mitch who is kind of like the town's playboy to help her in exchange she has to pretend to be like his girlfriend for his family because he's a playboy so you know his family is always like when are you going to settle down and so they kind of do that exchange and of course things happen it is an adorable romance and it's about a book about a single mom which is awesome because that needs to be represented more i grew up with a single mom and she was she did great next step is book about grief and for this one i always really recommend float plan by trish dollar i read this this year obviously you can tell it's going to be one of my favorite books of the entire year this is about a girl named anna who loses her beyonce to suicide and she takes a boat like trip and memory she takes like a boat trip that one they planned before he passed away to honor his memory and it's all about her you know going on this literal physical and kind of mental journey of grief and getting over things and it's just a beautiful and profound book that is really heavy and talks a lot about grief next up is marriage in trouble for this one i immediately thought of one of my favorite taylor dickens reads and that is after i do by taylor drake's read like i said it's one of her earlier ones she's kind of gone away from the kind of women's fiction chiclet and more literary fiction historical fiction but still this is one of my favorite ones by heart this is about a couple that's married and they're kind of falling out of love they're reaching a crossroads of their marriage they decide to take a year off where they kind of just separate they don't talk to each other things like that they only see each other to exchange the dog that they have um and it's just a year to figure out if they really do truly love each other if they're gonna find their way back to each other or if they should just move on and it's a beautiful book about marriage that you know is a marriage about struggling and it's a book all about that i really recommend this one i love it a ton i don't hear you know when you hear telejay kids read you always hear seven um husbands evelyn hugo and um daisy jones in the six and her latest release but still this is one of her like i uh i don't know if this is one of my this might be my favorite of her earlier works honestly i just really enjoy that economy of this relationship and you know watching their year apart to figure out if they will come back together again or not next up is fake dating y a and for this one i picked the upside of falling by alex light i read this did i read this this year last year i don't even know my years are starting to get so like put together but this is about a girl that gets confronted by kind of her ex-best friend because she likes reading romance novels you do your thing girl and her best friend her ex best friend's like why are you going to read that like you don't know anything about romance or anything like that and the high school star quarterback overhears this and he's like you know this is my girlfriend why are you talking about her like that he saves her pretty much and they decide to have a fake relationship that's going to benefit them both and it's a super cute book i'd say this really reminds me of to all the boys i love before where it's kind of um it's pg you know it's really great it's super cute i really enjoy it not a ton of people talk about it which is sad because i really enjoy it if you love wine contemporaries i highly recommend checking this one out next up are books set in alaska and for this one i'm gonna be so cliche because i've only read a couple that are set in alaska even though i would say it's like one of my favorite like tropes if you will um number one the simple wild i love it a lot of people love it you're probably like i already knew this why are you talking about it but in case you don't there you go it's all about a girl that goes to alaska to reconnect with her dad and she kind of falls in love with this really gruff and kind of mean pilot um so we have that one then also we have the great alone by kristin hannah this one is a historical book that says that is set in the 60s of a family that moves to alaska like um and kind of you know lives there and it's really brutal not only in the house but in the wilderness um both of them are great alaska books i'm actually about to start another book that is set in alaska called the name curse i believe it's all about like a girl that takes a hike or takes like some sort of thing in alaska i was like i need to read more alaskan books so i can recommend more than the two that i recommend all the time so there's some recommendations in case you haven't heard of those which i'm sure you have so hopefully i can recommend the name curse and that'll be something new but check it out if you want another alaskan book whether it's good or not i don't know i'll let you know next up we have plus size main character which i always love and read as much as possible because i am clearly plus size for this one i thought of for this one i thought a spoiler alert by olivia dade this one is all about a character i think her name is april um she's a plus size character she's really into fandoms and she gets involved with an actor and it's super cute really enjoy it and we also have um any brown sister books by talia hibbert she has a series of them get a life chloe brown take a hint danny brown and act your age evie brown they are all plus-sized they're all great characters i love them a ton and i think the specific recommendation for this was plus size main characters that are not on a weight loss journey or doesn't talk about weight loss which is totally fine and none of these do honestly they are happy with who they are and i think that is great next up we have holiday romance and for this one i have one that i recommend that i really really enjoy and that's window shopping by tesla baylor this is her latest like um release it's a very short story i think it's like maybe a little over 200 pages but the holiday romance it is steamy just so you're wear so you know take with that what you will but it's definitely a holiday romance that's super cute another one that i'm currently reading as i'm filming right now because i'm filming like two weeks in advance because that's how my schedule works is across um christmas road trip i believe across christmas a cross-country christmas trip something like that um it's kind of like a romance but it's also um women's fiction but i still am really enjoying it so those are the two i would recommend a ton next up is book with underwater element and for this i immediately thought of into the drowning deep by mara grant i don't know where my copies went i think i lent it out to somebody and i have yet to see it again which is the story of my life there's so many books that i'm like i think this person has it will i get it back i don't know but this one is basically all about mermaids but killer mermaids so in case you're like i don't want those nice mermaids and things like that i want some killer ones check this book out it starts off with this kind of mockumentary learning about these killer memories and going to confront them and guess what the boat never comes back so it picks up many years later and we follow the sister of one of the girls that had never came back from the boat trip and they're doing this documentary again to not only learn more about the killer mermaids to figure out hey where did this boat go many years ago so it's got a whole bunch of science elements into it because it talks about the ocean and things like that and it gets really technical but it's creepy book like it's like a i would say like sci-fi horror and i really enjoyed it you know they go underwater they see things it's intense and i loved it a ton next up is a thriller for beginners and i was like man what do i think about this because i guess i still classify myself as a beginner with thrillers but i don't know and the one i really thought of is the sun down by the sundown motel by simone st james i've been on a simone st james kick recently i read two of her books last month and i really enjoyed them and i honestly think any of her books are great like kind of books for thriller books for beginners they are very atmospheric spooky and they also all have a very like paranormal undertone to them which i really enjoy it's not overtly paranormal but it just kind of adds to the ambiance you know this one is all about a character that her aunt was found missing and was pronounced dead years ago and she's like i don't believe she's dead i don't know what about her i want to figure her out so she goes to the same place where her aunt worked the sundown motel to figure out and she's kind of reliving what happened to her aunt all those years ago and it's creep me like i said atmospheric i really really enjoyed it next up is steamy romance for this one i'm picking the love hypothesis by ali hazel what is all about a character olive who um pretty much gets into a fake relationship with um like one of the advisors in college and things like that that everyone hates and it's a very steamy very scientific book i really enjoy it let me see if i can find another steamy book that maybe is not talked about a ton maybe i'm trying to be better about that oh the worst best man by mia soso it's not like crazy steamy but it's got a couple of steamy scenes in there it's all about a character that gets left of the altar and she gets confronted with the brother of the guy that left her at the altar and he's one that convinced his brother like to hey maybe you should leave and so she's like i hate you and of course things go from there next up is winter thriller for this one i'm gonna recommend two that i have not read because you know whatever it's it's my channel it's cool rock paper scissors by alice feeny so i started this and then i think i accidentally spoiled myself from the ending of it honestly it's awesome i can't read this now but i will say it's a pretty good plot twist and stuff like that so i would recommend it it's set like in this where is it set at exactly when a week and away to scotland and it's in the thick of like um winter and they stay at like this kind of abandoned church that's right here in the middle of winter snow storm things like that i've heard amazing things about this book and i'm sure i would have loved it if i had not spoiled myself accidentally did i accidentally support myself or did i just overhear about it i can't remember but either way it made me kind of be like oh i don't know if i should read it still because i already know what's gonna happen let me know but it's very short the whole like look at it very winter thriller i would say another one to read is one by one by ruth ware that's set like at a ski resort in um in england i believe but i didn't like that one so i wouldn't recommend it another one that i still want to read i just haven't gotten around to it that is the witch hunter by i forget who it's by it's another kind of book set and i think england in the thick of winter and it's a thriller so i'd recommend those two even though i haven't read them so take with that what you will next up is book about food so i'm currently reading this hopefully i have finished it by the time this goes up i don't know but i wanted to find a new one and that's called battle royale no not battle royale no that's another book battle royal i forget the author's name but this is set in england again and it's about a character that was on like kind of like a great british bake off show and she got kicked off one week but she's made her own bakery and it's doing well for herself and she actually gets asked to come back as a judge for the same show and the judge that kind of voted her off he's like kind of a young hot but broody kind of judge and they like don't like each other but things go from there it's all about baking and food and things like that it's really cute so far i hope i finished it i'm just in the thick of reading so many holiday books right now it's hard to read anything but because i want to review them all but that's one that's definitely about food if you want a video all about books that center on baking let me know i've done a whole video of books about food i like that up here but if you want a book specifically if you want a video about books specifically with baking in it let me know cozy mystery i've only really read one and that is a deadly scoop by oh gosh i forget the name i think it's abby colette this is another one set in winter too so don't be fooled by the title or the cover because it's like ice cream and it is ice cream shop but it's set in the middle of winter it's a cozy mystery where she has ice cream shot she finds a dead body outside her ice cream shop and you go from there i think that i'm just not the biggest fan of cozy mystery so that's the only one i've read it was cute i enjoyed it hence why i am recommending it second chance romance i did a whole video about this because i love that but one i really thought of was a lot like adios by alexis dairy this is about two people that were best friends in high school and we're going into the maybe more category but then the guy just leaves up and just leaves and they don't talk for years until many years later he needs her help because she's like a marketer and they start confronting their feelings and it's definitely a second chance steamy romance and i really enjoyed it i love both of the books i've read by this author just both are great romance with main character in her 30s as a oh crap how old am i i'm either 32-33 at this point i just forget um i think i'm 33 who knows um anyway i respect this a lot um when sparks fly by helena hunting is a book that got released earlier this year that i haven't heard really anybody talk about actually got released in september it's not earlier this year a few months ago it's about two main characters that are best friends have been best friends since college they're in their 30s now they live together i've always just been great friends but nothing more until one of them gets into a car accident and the other one has to take care of them and things kind of go from there and it's just adorable friends to lovers with characters in their 30s that are established in their careers and their friendship and their families but not so much their love life then we have christmas cheer so like i said i'm reading a ton of christmasy books one why a book that i didn't think i was gonna like nearly as much as i did but i really enjoyed it is so this is christmas by tracy andreen i really enjoyed it it's all about this character that goes to a boarding school and she goes home to her um for christmas in a town where she lives called christmas and her kind of nemesis at school follows her there that he's staying with his aunt there and you know they kind of it's like kind of an enemy still lovers but set in a very christmasy town and it was just adorable i really enjoyed it it's a great why holiday read if you want to check it out like i said i didn't expect to really enjoy it as much as i did but i really liked it oh and i think that's it that's my last um prompt that i wrote down so there you have it those are some recommendations that i hope i helped you guys with really particular ones hopefully i didn't talk about the same books as i always do i'm trying to expand on that but give me some time and i will try to be better but i hope you enjoy this video and if you want to keep this series going let me know thank you guys so much for watching and i will see you in my next video byehello everyone today i am here to do another instagram recommendations video so i did this video for the first time a while ago and i really enjoyed it basically what it is i went on instagram and asked you guys to ask me for specific or the know cozy mystery i've only really read one and that is a deadly scoop by oh gosh i forget the name i think it's abby colette this is another one set in winter too so don't be fooled by the title or the cover because it's like ice cream and it is ice cream shop but it's set in the middle of winter it's a cozy mystery where she has ice cream shot she finds a dead body outside her ice cream shop and you go from there i think that i'm just not the biggest fan of cozy mystery so that's the only one i've read it was cute i enjoyed it hence why i am recommending it second chance romance i did a whole video about this because i love that but one i really thought of was a lot like adios by alexis dairy this is about two people that were best friends in high school and we're going into the maybe more category but then the guy just leaves up and just leaves and they don't talk for years until many years later he needs her help because she's like a marketer and they start confronting their feelings and it's definitely a second chance steamy romance and i really enjoyed it i love both of the books i've read by this author just both are great romance with main character in her 30s as a oh crap how old am i i'm either 32-33 at this point i just forget um i think i'm 33 who knows um anyway i respect this a lot um when sparks fly by helena hunting is a book that got released earlier this year that i haven't heard really anybody talk about actually got released in september it's not earlier this year a few months ago it's about two main characters that are best friends have been best friends since college they're in their 30s now they live together i've always just been great friends but nothing more until one of them gets into a car accident and the other one has to take care of them and things kind of go from there and it's just adorable friends to lovers with characters in their 30s that are established in their careers and their friendship and their families but not so much their love life then we have christmas cheer so like i said i'm reading a ton of christmasy books one why a book that i didn't think i was gonna like nearly as much as i did but i really enjoyed it is so this is christmas by tracy andreen i really enjoyed it it's all about this character that goes to a boarding school and she goes home to her um for christmas in a town where she lives called christmas and her kind of nemesis at school follows her there that he's staying with his aunt there and you know they kind of it's like kind of an enemy still lovers but set in a very christmasy town and it was just adorable i really enjoyed it it's a great why holiday read if you want to check it out like i said i didn't expect to really enjoy it as much as i did but i really liked it oh and i think that's it that's my last um prompt that i wrote down so there you have it those are some recommendations that i hope i helped you guys with really particular ones hopefully i didn't talk about the same books as i always do i'm trying to expand on that but give me some time and i will try to be better but i hope you enjoy this video and if you want to keep this series going let me know thank you guys so much for watching and i will see you in my next video bye\n"
