Nexus 5 vs iPhone 5s - Benchmark + Speed Test

Speed Test: Google Nexus 5 vs iPhone 5S

Hello and welcome to Super Saf TV! In this video, we're going to be doing a speed test between two popular smartphones, the Google Nexus 5 and the iPhone 5S. We'll start off with a boot test, followed by some benchmarks on Geekbench 3, and then move on to standard app tests, including browser tests and testing out popular apps.

To begin our boot test, we'll switch both devices on at the same time and speed up the process slightly to make it more interesting. After about 22 seconds, the Nexus 5 boots up followed very slightly after by the iPhone 5S, just about a second later. This may not seem like much of a difference, but it's an important factor to consider when choosing between these two devices.

Now that we've completed our boot test, let's move on to some benchmark scores. Benchmark tests are something that many people like to see when it comes to comparing different smartphones. On both the Nexus 5 and iPhone 5S, we ran the same benchmark test, which gave us a better understanding of each device's performance.

The results were quite interesting, with the iPhone 5S completing the benchmark slightly faster than the Nexus 5. The Nexus 5 took around 55 seconds to complete the benchmark, while the iPhone 5S took around 34 seconds. This is largely due to the fact that the iPhone 5S has a dual-core processor, which may not be as powerful as the quad-core processor found in the Nexus 5.

However, it's worth noting that the Nexus 5 did manage to score higher overall in terms of multi-core performance. Despite having a less powerful single-core processor, the Nexus 5 was able to handle multiple tasks more efficiently than the iPhone 5S.

Now that we've completed our benchmark tests, let's move on to some app testing. We'll be using the native browser apps on both devices, Safari and Google Chrome, as well as some popular third-party apps such as Instagram and Temple Run 2.

When it comes to loading up the Verge website, which is quite heavy, the iPhone 5S managed to load a bit faster than the Nexus 5. However, this was only by a small margin, with both devices taking around a second or two to load the page completely. In terms of performance on the actual page, scrolling up and down, zooming in and out, and other tasks, there was barely any difference between the two devices.

We also tested out Instagram, which is a popular app that many people use daily. When loading up both apps at the same time, the iPhone 5S managed to load slightly faster than the Nexus 5. However, this was again only by a small margin, with both devices taking around a split second to load the app completely.

Finally, we tested out Temple Run 2, which is another popular game that many people enjoy playing on their smartphones. When loading up both apps at the same time, the iPhone 5S managed to load slightly faster than the Nexus 5. Again, this was only by a small margin, with both devices taking around a split second to load the app completely.

Overall, our speed test between the Google Nexus 5 and the iPhone 5S has shown that while there may be some minor differences in terms of performance, both devices are able to handle everyday tasks with ease. The iPhone 5S's dual-core processor may give it a slight edge when it comes to single-core performance, but the Nexus 5's quad-core processor more than makes up for it in terms of multi-core performance.

In conclusion, if you're in the market for a new smartphone and are looking for a device that can handle everyday tasks with ease, both the Google Nexus 5 and the iPhone 5S are excellent options. While there may be some minor differences in terms of performance, both devices are capable of delivering fast and efficient performance.

a boot test and then we'll look at some benchmarks on geekbench 3 followed by some standard app test so we'll be doing some browser test and just testing out some popular apps as well to see the differences in speed so getting straight to it with a boot test switching both of these devices on at the same time and what we'll do is we'll just quickly uh speed this process up a little bit so we don't have to bore you too long with this but roughly after about 22 seconds the Nexus 5 booted up followed very slightly after by the iPhone 5S just about a second after so nothing really in it 1 second of difference between bootup times now the benchmark scores something that a lot of people do like to see so kbench 3 on both of these running them both at the same time now the iPhone 5S did complet complet The Benchmark quicker so it was roughly done within about 34 seconds I'd say the Nexus 5 followed in at roughly about 55 seconds now although the iPhone 5S has a higher single core score because it only has a dual core processor compared to the quad core processor of the Google Nexus 5 the overall multi-core score of the Google Nexus 5 did come out higher not massively but it definitely is higher compared to the iPhone 5S now doing a browser test so we're using Safari on the iPhone 5s and Google Chrome on the Google NEX Nexus 5 mainly because they are the native browser apps on both of these to make them Fair as possible The Verge website did load up slightly faster on the Google Nexus 5 compared to the iPhone 5S literally a split second so nothing really to it now going on to the full website the full Verge website which is quite heavy so opening them both at the same time the iPhone 5S did load it up ever so slightly quicker just just a split second once again finish loading if you look at the blue bar at the top you'll see that the Nexus 5 came in slightly after going into an article you'll see that we start seeing the content first on the Nexus 5 but the page did finish loading a split second quicker on the iPhone 5S in terms of performance on the actual page scrolling up and down zooming in and out absolutely fine and barely anything between them now testing out a popular app so Instagram is a popular app that we're both trying here so opening them up at the same time loaded up ever so slly quicker on the iPhone 5S once you're in again very very minimal difference a split second the iPhone 5S did open it up a split second faster and finally opening up a game so Temple Run 2 was a game that I could find on both app stores so running them both at the same time they pretty much started at the same time I think the iPhone 5S once again a split second quicker compared to the Google Nexus 5 so there we go the speed difference between the Google Nexus 5 and the iPhone 5S very very minimal there's nothing really to it some things the Google Nexus 5 was better at some things the iPhone 5S was better at so I'm going to call it a draw I'd say they're pretty even in terms of speed you're not going to have any problems whatsoever in terms of speed with both of these devices they are both powerhouses and definitely on the top of the line right now in terms of Speed and Performance I hope you enjoyed this video and found it useful if you did as always please do hit that thumbs up button for me it really does help me out and why not
