Hello and Welcome to a 360° Passenger Ey Video in the Mercedes S-Class
As we begin this video, I'm going to put the car in Reverse mode so that you can see the various cameras and views available. The surround view cameras allow us to see the car's surroundings from multiple angles, including forward, backward, and at the sides. Additionally, there is a bird's eye view of the car, which is useful for navigating through tight spaces and width restrictors. This feature becomes active when we reach a certain speed.
Now that we're in Reverse mode, let's take a closer look at the Mercedes S350, which is equipped with a diesel engine. I can see that it's very comfortable to travel in, thanks to its air suspension system. While it does have a sport mode, I think it's not necessary for this type of car, as it's all about providing a luxurious and relaxing driving experience. The gearbox in sports mode does hold onto gears for longer and kicks down sooner, but that's really not the point, as this car is designed to waft around in absolute luxury.
One of the standout features of this car is its ability to isolate from the outside world. It's reasonably quiet, thanks to its excellent sound insulation. However, it does have one area for improvement – the quality of right-hand side seats is just a little bit better than what you'd find in a BMW 7 Series. You do feel like you're gliding above the road surface, only when the very sharpest bumps come through into the cabin.
On the flip side, this car isn't exactly sporty. However, it does handle corners reasonably well, considering its size. As we can see from the long wheelbase version of the S-Class, there's plenty of room inside for passengers and luggage. One area where the rear visibility could be improved is at the back window; it's quite small compared to other cars on the market.
Despite this minor drawback, the rest of the visibility in the cabin is excellent. The airiness of the interior is enhanced by a contrasting cream trim, which works incredibly well in terms of quality. As for the upholstery, I'd have preferred authentic animal hide leather, given the car's price tag of around £70,000.
One of the other features that stands out about this car is its extensive tech package. The dashboard is equipped with two massive screens – one for driving information and another for infotainment and navigation. While it's impressive to see these systems in action, I must admit that I didn't want to spend too much time navigating them.
To make the most of our visit to the test track, we've activated the Google Maps system, which provides satellite map imagery while driving. The interface is user-friendly, but it might be a bit challenging for some users who are not familiar with these systems.
As we continue to explore this car, I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed by its overall quality and comfort. If you're looking for a luxurious limousine experience on the road, this Mercedes S-Class is certainly an excellent choice.
