the cyber quad look like the actual test of cyber quad we're starting to construct the aluminum trestle that's gonna create the mounting points for the new ABS body panels let's get everyone up to speed and how we got to this point with a quick time-lapse now we're gonna make some more ABS pieces from Stephens notebook for those calculations and take them together to confirm their fitment and proportions then we soft mount them which sounds pretty appealing well that's gonna give us the overall impression before we hard mount now let's get into a little of where things are right now Devon what are you doing baby we're doing back here talk to me this hole for the wiring this is going to be the channel over like so once we get in there real nice and neat that'll be our back end then that'll connect to the rear fender flare absolutely have that set up this we have these two pieces of angle iron here which give us the angle for how we're gonna have the rear fender flare come up like this and if you notice we actually put on the footrest as well yes and applies the radio guards how it goes with the footrest little bending like that and we got to have two angled cuts that will do for this side firming up and this is gonna be the manifestation of the rear seat as well so the rear seats probably gonna be one of the most intricate designs you've ever seen because we're still trying to figure out we actually have to move this back I think three or four inches or so just to get the the seating position right because as you know I'm pretty thick and for us thick voice we need more seat and cushion area so this comes on like this right so before this was four inches closer believe it or not we have this to catch bring these up meet on the two side fenders and the right probably have these two crossbars come about and then yeah yeah form the seat around this so these are the two like anchor points and we're gonna have possibly wood and foam when all kinds of stuff paper mache there I'm not really sure we're gonna do for that yet but but I were definitely getting there right now I'm working on the front I'm actually making my own little front bumper here so I had that stacked up reinforcement in the front I'm actually gonna you know have these together on me just zip-tied trust me right Steven you believe you're gonna zip-tied right and then I'm gonna form almost like a small anchor point so once in there I'm gonna have these parts in here to boom and then one part on this side here too to kind of form the rest of the structure so it's pretty solid and then the rest of it what I'm gonna do for this part right here this is the nose cone of everything for the quadrant this is gonna go up here after that steel frame bumper is in that's gonna rest about right here reform bumper is gonna be on the inside and then I'm gonna make a small bracket in here to actually secure the rest of the body so it's gonna sit something like this but after we do that one of the most important parts is getting this LED bar in the front Stevens gonna have the same design for the rear diffuser we're gonna have an LED strip on the inside I'm going to have a diffuser it's like this really small plastic channel right here to help diffuse the light so it looks like one giant laser beam instead of individual LEDs so we're right into a problem now with that a lot of the parts that we need aren't available because of you know shipping and the crisis that's going on right now so I think delayed but this is gonna sit somewhere about here obviously it's gonna be cut down a little bit but it's gonna sit really nicely right here and then some do let the actual cycle for itself so actually I need my drones back here in a responsible place coming in hot I honestly want to leave these zip ties here but I know how you feel about that so I'm not into that I'll do it the right way I suppose I have a pilot screw right here that I'm using to keep that steady but the other parts are having the side pieces on here so I need like a screw to get them to the sides to kind of secure those in but I don't want to use a difficult screw on the outside what I want to do is I want to have this pretty seamless so I'm gonna put the screw right here and I'm just gonna bond it to the side so that it was almost like frameless in a way so you uh-oh shoo naughty what I need more these buddy fun well I've gone through 150 of them already we gotta go home people all right but yeah I guess you're in the zone so ste where's your credit card we've put the last six trips there this is gonna slide right over here and it does nice perfect now the other thing I do now is I have to get this new sprocket onto here and there's a mild issue here as you can see it doesn't want to fit yeah there you go look at that we got some material to move so there's more material on the bottom one than there is on the outside one so needless to say we gotta trace this out and cut all the extra bit material out of it hey what a coincidence the designs already there alright let's cut it alright so right now I'm putting the the chain on the sprockets and they actually line up pretty well my biggest concern was it having having it not clear this part right here but it looks like it clears it pretty well this is the old sprocket that was here before and the reason why I'm not using the old sprocket is because I have a different chain on here now I have an industrial chain and the industrial chain does not did the old sprocket if you look at right here there's a lot of play and that's not gonna go so well but the industrial sprocket and chain if you look at it the actual teeth fit perfectly inside of the actual chain so I changed the bottom sprocket and the top sprocket these are both industrial sprockets now and now this chain matches the sprocket this surprisingly clears this one of my biggest fears was it not clearing that barrier right there and it clears it fine and I think because it's such a small run I don't think I'm lenita tensioner on this if I get this tight enough because these two sprockets are within an inch of each other if I get this tight enough there's not going to be much play and I don't think there's a need for a tensioner but if I wanted to put attention on it what I could do was I could get a small lever right here a small arm that's um that's on a spring and I could have it attached to a ball and have it pushed in right here so there is room for a tension or if I want to put one in but I don't think I'm gonna need one I'm pretty sure people in the comment section and to say yes for sure it's gonna blow up on me in the first run but I guess we'll see but I think this ended up pretty nice this is this is this is look so surprisingly nice I'm really happy with the way this came out for short so the biggest thing is seeing how it performs and I think it's going to do pretty well so right now Steven did a fantastic job of getting the the rear fender in place so as you can see this is where the the slot is for the the rear LED brake light and this is the user there's actually a small aluminum channel in here with a diffuser over it and that's where the LED lights going to be now earlier we talked about having a almost it recessed hole for the wiring to go through and that's actually under this diffuser right here so we have some flat headed screws that are screwed in so the make room for the the LED bar this is carbon ABS plastic with the salinity car by a secondary layer so you won't see these rivets that's on both sides this is where the rear fenders a little mount on here we also have the rear foot peg I guess you could say or shoe heel guard painted in black that's one of the first coat but things are actually starting to come along pretty well we're working on the front fenders as well and if you look from the front it's kind of an interesting design because it almost looks like rabbit ears but we're actually going to have a secondary piece that goes over both sides so that the you get like the whole 3d look and the 3d angles of the quad itself so it's gonna look something like this but you can see is the 3d piece it's not just one single plane it's multifaceted so there's another angle here but there's other angle here making it look a little bit better a little bit more I guess you could say presentable as opposed to this you know flat piece of plastic now the front is interesting I've been kind of older than engineering the front so this is the front piece this is actually the front bumper and below this is a piece of angle aluminum here on both sides I think I want to have a winch up front but whatever you do for the front we want to make sure it's gonna be strong enough to support the entire quad I'm gonna attempt to stand on this thing I haven't done this yet so we know that if I fall through but he had crappy drop doing it but that seems like it's pretty oh yeah all day long baby all day yeah that's pretty that's pretty good yeah that's pretty strong so we're actually going to have a secondary bracket babe on both of these sides and this is gonna permit up nice and strong what this is in here this is gonna be tacked on the bottom tacked on to here while they're for the front and then we're gonna have the front bumper on here so arguably this front bumper will be one of the strongest parts of the quad so once this is on here and lined up it's gonna sit someone like that and in the front you know you have this really strong metal piece we were to run into something it's not just gonna crush this whole thing there's some structure supporting it in the front we're still trying to figure out the design for the seat Stephan laid a few more reinforcement bars right here in the front if you're not familiar with the previous episodes this is actually the charger for the quad itself and pretty soon we're gonna start cutting out the piece of wood that goes in here so when I put a piece of wood in here and we're actually going to staple the fabric and phone to it to formulate the seat but the ideal goal is we don't really want it much overhang from the seat itself we this is a mold seals of a giant banana and what we want is we want the quad a little bit would be a little bit more streamlined so we're gonna have all the fabric and all the phone kind of talk to him to be tightly against the plastic so actually want to run that seat about from right here and we're gonna stop here and we're also gonna figure out what we could have for an overlap for additional material in here before it stops to make the rest of the the spot for the gauge cluster on the quad cell so not many people really know where the gauge cluster is in the cyber quad Steven and I kind of think that it's hidden behind a panel of some sort but then again for an electric quad they may not necessarily need a speedometer they might just need on/off and maybe a flashing LED light to check for trouble codes but we're gonna have a gauge cluster on ours that is the best place to put it is actually right here it actually fits in this little channel perfectly if you run this wire all the way down here this actually fits in pretty nicely right about here just kidding oh there girl no it's perfect right here that's gonna fit right about right there and what we're gonna do is we're not gonna have it just show them like this we're gonna have it so that there's actually a small plastic access cover that can easily open and close you don't know so they see this all the time because when you're writing a quad I notice that a lot of quads don't really have this pedometer you just go in the old one really really fast because unless it's like a street quad where you're writing it on the street you have turn signals and stuff that's when you wanna know how fast you're going but when it comes to trails typically I don't see this I think on Yamaha they had it for a couple years and they took it away again it also gives you the display of how much battery life is left and that's super important when you're riding on the trails really want to know you know just how long you have before your battery completely dies on you and we think that'd be kind of important to show people maybe on the cyber quad they might only have maybe two or three LEDs maybe a green yellow and red the green will say you're fine the registers okay you're out of power of have fun pushing at home the rest of this area here is gonna consist of the controller the control is going to go right here and all the wiring is gonna go a little bit below we're gonna have the DC to DC converter and as well as the the main battery board right in front of the battery right here parts of the quad so once this is on here and lined up it's gonna sit someone like that and in the front you know you have this really strong metal piece we were to run into something it's not just gonna crush this whole thing there's some structure supporting it in the front we're still trying to figure out the design for the seat Stephan laid a few more reinforcement bars right here in the front if you're not familiar with the previous episodes this is actually the charger for the quad itself and pretty soon we're gonna start cutting out the piece of wood that goes in here so when I put a piece of wood in here and we're actually going to staple the fabric and phone to it to formulate the seat but the ideal goal is we don't really want it much overhang from the seat itself we this is a mold seals of a giant banana and what we want is we want the quad a little bit would be a little bit more streamlined so we're gonna have all the fabric and all the phone kind of talk to him to be tightly against the plastic so actually want to run that seat about from right here and we're gonna stop here and we're also gonna figure out what we could have for an overlap for additional material in here before it stops to make the rest of the the spot for the gauge cluster on the quad cell so not many people really know where the gauge cluster is in the cyber quad Steven and I kind of think that it's hidden behind a panel of some sort but then again for an electric quad they may not necessarily need a speedometer they might just need on/off and maybe a flashing LED light to check for trouble codes but we're gonna have a gauge cluster on ours that is the best place to put it is actually right here it actually fits in this little channel perfectly if you run this wire all the way down here this actually fits in pretty nicely right about here just kidding oh there girl no it's perfect right here that's gonna fit right about right there and what we're gonna do is we're not gonna have it just show them like this we're gonna have it so that there's actually a small plastic access cover that can easily open and close you don't know so they see this all the time because when you're writing a quad I notice that a lot of quads don't really have this pedometer you just go in the old one really really fast because unless it's like a street quad where you're writing it on the street you have turn signals and stuff that's when you wanna know how fast you're going but when it comes to trails typically I don't see this I think on Yamaha they had it for a couple years and they took it away again it also gives you the display of how much battery life is left and that's super important when you're riding on the trails really want to know you know just how long you have before your battery completely dies on you and we think that'd be kind of important to show people maybe on the cyber quad they might only have maybe two or three LEDs maybe a green yellow and red the green will say you're fine the registers okay you're out of power of have fun pushing at home the rest of this area here is gonna consist of the controller the control is going to go right here and all the wiring is gonna go a little bit below we're gonna have the DC to DC converter and as well as the the main battery board right in front of the battery right here as well so yeah things are coming along
