been slightly tuned to 425 horsepower yeah very very cool car so today i'm going to show you around it i'm going to show you the mods on this car uh we're not going to spend too much time talking about the 1m in general because we have covered that quite a bit in the past so i'm going to focus on this tuned version with a couple of mods on it and uh well after that i'll take it for a drive towards the old man for an automan blast so the one m a very short history lesson or a very short recap is that they built these cars in 2011 and 12 and they were going to build 2700 of them but the mount was so big so overwhelming that they actually lifted the production cap and they ended up producing 6309 of them so they are not as rare as they were intended to be but still quite rare 6309 cars it is the age old story of the engineers that built a car in the evenings or whatever i'm not really buying that crap it's a great marketing story but the essence is very very cool it is a one series coupe that has been stretched over the wheels brakes and part of the suspension of the bmw m3 e92 so the v8 m3 and that means that it is this super short and wide fat white fendered little boom it is such a cool car and that small car big engine idea is just enhanced by the fact that you have those m3 wheels and brakes and suspension and yeah it is a dream of a car this so at the front we've got some more aggressive bumpers compared to 135i for instance which shares the engine with this car that has always been a point of criticism of this car that it is not a real full-blown amp because it doesn't have a real full-blown m engine well that's just nonsense it is a full-blown amp car and it is one of the coolest if you ask me now the front is not the prettiest so we're going to leave quickly we're going to check out these wheels these are 19-inch and behind that we've got a brembo gt braking kit so that is a brake upgrade as standard it had the m3 brakes still has those at the rear braking performance is not amazing though could also be because the pads are nearly gone but braking performance isn't great around that we've got michelin pilot super sport tires which are very nice of course moving on we've got a little carbon side skirt there and carbon mirror covers these are also the mirrors from the m3 and then at the rear we've got this beautiful mm this beautiful arch that is just drooping over that wheel and that gives this car such an amazing look and then we end up at this the business end of the car this is a thick ass with two c's in thick i mean look at that that is such a cool rear end it is so short and wide and those four tail pipes in there little diffuser carbon and a carbon spoiler here as well but that is a cool car i absolutely love the 1m i think it's one of the coolest modern m cars 2011 this car was built so it's 11 years ago um engine wise we've got the m54 bi-turbo twin turbo engine powered by bmw m so it's got 340 horsepower and 450 newton meters of torque stock 500 with overboost available for a short period of time but as i said this is not stock we've got the intakes and intercooler muzzlemon oil thermostat and a muzzlemon remap as well and then we've got catless downpipes and a mid-pipe from an n55 and that means that there's no cat in there anymore either so apparently that fits and then we've got the stock rear silencer as you could see and uh it has a remap by mozaman as well for a total of 425 horsepower and 637 newton meters of torque and let me tell you this car weighs around 1500 kilos that is quite a bit of power for this little m car we've also got erlens coilovers on this particular car which is also a pretty nice mod so is this bmw m performance front seats very very nice bucket seats now another thing that people criticized a lot on this car was that you didn't have any m seats and uh it just looked like a 135i well this kind of fixes that right very nice bucket seat and then inside we've got a little bit more we've got some alcatara with orange stitching right there as well and then a nice steering wheel with carbon as well and then a little bit of carbon on the dash some down here more alcantara on the doors very very nice interior super basic but it's got everything you need okay so let's start it up and well we do have a bit more sound than stock because a stock 1m sounds pretty docile actually so they can really use an exhaust i do have to say that there seems to be a problem with this car's front axle as you can hear there is some squeaky stuff going on now driving it is yeah what what is the most important thing about this car the fact that they just built it to satisfy the bmw m driver they just built this car to be the most fun drivers car they could build basically so you don't get any stuff you don't need you don't get a lot of m badges on the interior or any special stuff no they just took some parts from the m3 we've also got the limited slip diff at the rear from an m3 e92 and they just wanted to build a little track car basically and it just shows it is so much fun to drive the car feels light it feels lively it feels agile it feels like a proper amp car i i don't know how anyone could say that this is not a full-blown amp car just because it doesn't have a full-blown m engine or you know it it's about the way the car feels and this car feels so good only available with a manual gearbox and oh man this this tuned one it surprises me a lot it every time i accelerate out of a corner i'm like holy moly that's a quick car oh it's got so much torque 637 newton meters i mean you know that is going to be a lot but it feels very very strong now of course that is also down to that weight as i said around 1500 kilos with that inline six in the front it just it just works so well and after this of course you had the bmw m2 m2 competition they got heavier and heavier every time and weight kills fun oh that is nice let's head to the ultraman and hope that mr dodge rem doesn't lose his christmas tree over there or is that a palm tree it's either christmas or summer now it is almost six so yeah it is going to be a bit busy i think so let's find out what it feels like at the autobahn because man it it actually feels faster than it is which is a good thing because that means you're not going as fast as you think most of the time that is a fourth gear pull and that is very very quick so the car actually quiets down now or the exhaust at least that's 270 not bad brakes are really not up to the task i can feel them already getting warm so definitely worth having a look at that robin if you want to do ultimate stuff more often or track stuff but it is freaking powerful man third gear just picks up so well man so of course we also measured the 100 to 200 kilos on our performance which was 9.21 seconds which is very quick but it feels quicker it really really does and that is just so amazing i mean 921 is seriously quick and it is definitely confirming the 425 horsepower claim but we usually know that when we get cars that have been tuned by muscle wealth that uh they deliver their power so this really is one of the last bmw m cars that feels really analog it it feels like there's nothing on here to make it any better than it is you know it's just a small car with a big engine i mean the engine has gotten a little bit bigger now with this tune of course but look at this little amgar go it that is quick it really is a driver's car it it invites you to have fun basically and it invites you to to try and play with it a little bit and i really like that sentiment wow that is quite empty here shall we go for it oh that is so close to 300. no no no no oh the brakes they don't really like that oh if it wasn't for this car look at this freaking space here oh yeah that's part of the game guys sometimes you you win sometimes you lose sometimes you lose some breaks but man that is a quick little car right so freaking cool and it's so quiet well you have a little bit of wind noise but i mean the engine is it's relatively quiet man what a car robin you've got an awesome car i can imagine that
