The Experience at UCC: A Weekend of Racing and Learning

I was hoping to get out of here by today but I want to see why it raced all the way through so I'm gonna hang out until tomorrow and he has one more Byron and then it's off to the final so we'll be back here tomorrow to finish up the racing and then we're heading back to Colorado to finish some stuff up and then heading all the way back to Florida. We'll catch back up with you guys tomorrow, are you ready for this guy? I guess that thing looks fast man look at that thing that thing is fast look at that front end all one piece so we'll see if we can get it to come out of the hole.

It'd be probably a pretty decent race but I just don't know if it's gonna 60 foot well enough for us. We're fixing to find out they said this dude's been a 520 before yeah he's done a 520 and a 540. So it's an artist gotta be quick on that tree I know all right guys wide is up for these semi-finals right now he is racing this white Dodge over here this thing looks pretty mean. We got these two trucks racing right now there's only four left so he did get a buy yesterday because the truck he was about to race before rain ended up breaking beforehand he was actually supposed to get another buy this round and go straight into the finals but they decided to stack the ladder differently this morning and run him against this white truck right here.

So he does have to get through this guy to move on to the finals so we'll see if we can take it all right foreign just like that when you're on the trailer well what happened there dude not not a good ending for the day. So we started out this morning on a really good note we were ready to race you know we had our buy run turns out they were having a bunch of issues with the computers so we actually ended up having a race for this round went up there was a little flustered from that and uh you know I was told there was water on the tire still so I went to back up to just spin them to get the water off but uh I pulled the truck out of four wheel drive but it didn't disengage the front diff.

So when I went to take off it was in four-wheel drive and it kind of hopped real bad and it was in second gear and talking with transmission Builder it sounds like it rolled the sprag so we killed for second gear in the truck it's gone um so we launched it went to make that second year shift wasn't there finally grabbed third went down the track and lost like a 7-0 at 100. So it was not what we wanted to end the weekend on but we learned a lot of what not to do so at least we can go from there.

You made it to the semifinals and ran a PB out here so so I can't be too still making progress at least didn't happen on the first rip right. So we've got a lot of stuff now that I want to address like it really highlighted how bad the shocks are I'm gonna send those out get them valved and just you know make some changes to the truck that uh probably should have been done already but I've been trying to Pinch A Penny and not do it so but it's highlighted all that we learned a lot of what not to do and we're just gonna keep improving from here.

Yep so the 550 though that's still pretty yeah that's moving that puts us at number six on the fastest Eighth Mile Duramax stuff so it's kind of cool yep right get this thing back and fix break repeat yep that's how it goes but that's gonna do it for UCC. Yeah I gotta get back to Colorado finish some stuff up yes sir yeah dialed in yep you're gonna be out here watching the sled pools that I do want to see but I gotta I gotta get back right I know that looks like it'd be pretty sick.

Yeah so we're gonna hang out the rest of the day head back to Florida see Kyle in a few days all right guys here comes the final in pro street this is Justin Ziegler in the lane close to us right here and then the guy we lost to in the other lane really hoping Ziggler takes this one home this truck's been doing pretty decent all week and it's definitely got the potential to do it see if we can put together a nice clean pass on this last one.

the truck service so we're gonna go put it in the tech line here out here today yeah Premier diesel event in the United States so if you guys aren't here you're missing out so we are out here at Lucas Oil Motor Speedway this is the same place we had police and cars only like a month ago and we were out here for the ultimate call-out challenge this is probably one of the biggest diesel events around believe it is the largest diesel event in the United States so there's all kinds of diesels out here look at all these races we're in the race truck section right here we're gonna see what the truck will do man we are racing pro street I was thinking about running it in the 590 index but we're not really consistent enough to do that so we're gonna throw the house at this thing and see if we can't run like a 530 maybe a 520 we're gonna be strictly Eighth Mile racing out here strictly Eight Mile yep so because of the weight of these trucks and how fast they go we are one minute to Eighth Mile racing so a little unfortunate but kind of works out in our favor because we don't have the gearing anyways yeah no this is sweet so I'm just out here with my boy Witt watching the race truck hopefully do its thing we haven't touched it since Bradenton the one in that last minute testing yeah so hopefully it still works uh like I said we're biggest fixing to find out we got to go through Tech real quick and then we got our first round qualifying here a little later this afternoon so oh yeah yep see what she can do gotta do a quick two-step check make sure she's ready for the day yep made some changes to that see if we can get it spool up a little quicker is a little spicier that was better I just hit the spools yet so that should light it a little quicker the shot it might look like why it's turbo speeding up and slowing down right now it almost looks stopped right there but that's just the frame rate of the camera that's pretty wild looking it's definitely spinning very fast it is not stopping I know this isn't our typical content film and Diesel stuff besides what we got going on with Wyatt's truck but I love coming to events like this it's something different there's a lot of really badass diesel-powered Vehicles out here and I'm just going to kind of show you guys around they got these little show and shines and you can see all these freaking stance and lifted diesel trucks and then there's also a whole bunch of drag racers out here as well going fast and that's what we like to see on top of the drag racing they also have sled pools where they build High horsepower diesels just to pull a uh weighted sled trailer as far as they can across a little dirt Runway they have set up out here they have Dyno sessions where they shoot for the most horsepower they can and that's what the ultimate call out challenge is so it's also the name of the event but what the ultimate call out challenge is if you're in that class you basically build a diesel truck to compete in three things you drag race you put it on the dyno and you do a sled pool and basically the truck that does the best at all three and gets through the event wins the ultimate may call out challenge and that's the you know the biggest prize of this event but there's also a whole bunch of other things going on as you can see but you see some of the fastest trucks in the world out here that are diesel powered the fastest diesel powered vehicles I mean there's freaking diesel Dragsters out here that I didn't even know existed they're like the Top Fuel of the diesel world all kinds of stuff so I'm excited just to hang out and see all this stuff this is you know stuff Wyatt's into as well he has a whole bunch of buddies out here we're meeting the guys that have the companies that have helped us with Wyatt's truck so it's just really cool all kinds of stuff out here all right guys Wyatt's in line getting ready to make his first pass the day here at the ultimate call out challenge so hot it is very toasty out here pretty good I thought we were going so I suited up I'm in here sweating we thought Florida was bad it's just as bad out here yeah it is it's a hot one today but we're gonna see if we can get the truck go down track here probably not because the tracks probably gonna be really slick yeah track's probably hot still got her on the radials right now hop to slicks though if needed yep if we have to I think we just need to hit it a lot harder on the Slicks to get some wheel speed in them make it work but I'd rather not go that route I'd rather it go down on these because if you look at everyone else in our class they're all you're literally the only one on radials I'm the only one look at these things over here we got some gnarly trucks in your class yeah these things are crazy also full tube chassis trucks look at these guys in front of Y here I ain't gonna lie I'm outgunned in this class A lot of these trucks are capable of like 480s some faster on a really good hit like 440s but a lot of them are having trouble getting down the track so a lot of the guys today in this class have been running like five twos five threes five ones so and that's still outgunning You by a good half second I still outgoing me by a bit so we've got to turn up quite a bit though so this should if it leaves put up a good number and that'll kind of tell us where we're at man let's see what she does yep foreign 's getting ready to make his second qualifier they've had a lot of trucks breaking down today so as you can tell it is now dark out and we were supposed to have four qualifiers today okay not gonna lie though that four wheel drive burnout that truck just did was sick but mine's getting ready to go up right now second qualifier the first pass he spun the tires we're still on the radials the track's a lot better now that it has cooled off made some suspension changes hopefully she takes it and just leaves 64-130 barely knocked the tire but 130 mile an hour is why it's best about an hour in the eighth by far though at 130 miles an hour that felt freaking good damn it's fun bad it's not like it funny hopped off the line back did yeah it's not stayed true but dude not bad we did a one four nine sixty foot one four nine and still won a 564 at 1 30. it's gonna move that's a new mile an hour yeah so because you were doing 560 to 124 in Bradenton yeah you're just a number down at the 60 foot which would probably put you almost two numbers at the eighth so that'd be a 540 if you could just replicate the Bradenton 1060 foot yeah if I could get it to come out better that felt good though uh but I think we're gonna be putting the Slicks on it so the track's not going to get much better than this no especially in the heat of day tomorrow so I think it'd be a good idea to try this slicks tomorrow in a qualifier yep see how they take it yeah and see what it does but that was better the truck felt really strong after the 330. it was pulling like it was moving so it felt good but uh it ain't gonna mean nothing if we can't get it out of the hole so I have to work on that a little bit not not bad time to get some sleep 11 o'clock at night that's gonna do it for tonight go get some sleep come back tomorrow redo in the morning so I guess the radials aren't going to do it dude they're just not working out there we uh went ahead swapped the truck over to the Slick setup we went back to a setting from a couple weeks ago that sort of worked and we're just gonna try and put a ton of power to it and get a little bit of wheel speed out of out of the hole hopefully it doesn't bounce too bad we're just gonna give a hell we uh we don't have the same prep Bradenton does no not nearly close you're gonna have to run the Slicks you got to get every Advantage you can we literally said we said earlier you were the only one out there on radials yeah the only guy so the truck does work well on them if the Trap is prepped for it but you know it's just not there today it's going right into eliminations on the Slicks this should do okay though it should do all right we qualified seven out of 12 so we're right in mid-pack we are going against a guy that qualified with a 6-1 so we can do like a 560 again today that would be ideal hopefully take it home at least get to round two gotta make sure you're on that tree too yeah so should be all right growing up in 20 minutes here or so we'll see what she does oh yeah she is her I guess the issue is that we don't have too much suspension data on the Slicks and that's that's why we wanted to keep it on the radials because we know what works better on those but you know the track conditions are just forcing us to throw the Slicks on this thing and overall it should be faster on these in the long term anyways you just didn't have the testing you wanted to yeah for all the events that I want to race with the truck I probably should spend more time getting these dialed in because it's going to be the same marginal prep for all of the odss events anyways so or at least I wouldn't say marginal prep but not radial prep yeah and I think to really see this thing shine and put up its best possible number will be on the Slick probably and that's just how it usually works yeah so we're gonna try it out see what it does this first round hopefully we don't get put on the trailer if we do we got four cases of teas and I'll have a good night anyways so all right guys why it's going up for his first round of eliminations he's going against this other C10 race truck this one's rear wheel drive belongs to Jesse this is actually one of Wyatt's buddies over here so unfortunately only one of you guys is gonna move on yep I feel bad on the tree this thing is really cool though 1320 video did a feature on this truck and it went pretty viral so it's cool to see why it's truck lining up with this guy it's too bad they have to take I'm sorry that was the quickest Eighth Mile and it matched the PBI set yesterday for mile an hour so my wife is gonna hate you you're gonna make me spend money see this truck is kind of cool it's got AC radio you know he's kind of got me beating at it yeah this thing is of course not why would it be so inconsiderate I put a kids can on it for a reason round two yes sir made some suspension changes yeah just some very subtle changes and a little bit more fuel up top so oh you did turn her up a little bit more up top just a smidge that's what I like to hear Logan's Trump he's been fighting it a lot this weekend uh it's got the potential to go very fast so the guy next to you yeah that's Logan yelton so I figured if I needed it I'll have the fuel and power up there so we're gonna find out works better on those but you know the track conditions are just forcing us to throw the Slicks on this thing and overall it should be faster on these in the long term anyways you just didn't have the testing you wanted to yeah for all the events that I want to race with the truck I probably should spend more time getting these dialed in because it's going to be the same marginal prep for all of the odss events anyways so or at least I wouldn't say marginal prep but not radial prep yeah and I think to really see this thing shine and put up its best possible number will be on the Slick probably and that's just how it usually works yeah so we're gonna try it out see what it does this first round hopefully we don't get put on the trailer if we do we got four cases of teas and I'll was actually supposed to get another buy this round and go straight into the finals but they decided to stack the ladder differently this morning and run him against this white truck right here so he does have to get through this guy to move on to the finals so we'll see if we can take it all right foreign just like that when you're on the trailer well what happened there dude not not a good ending for the day so we started out this morning on a really good note we were ready to race you know we had our buy run turns out they were having a bunch of issues with the computers so we actually ended up having a race for this round went up there was a little flustered from that and uh you know I was told there was water on the tire still so I went to back up to just spin them to get the water off but uh I pulled the truck out of four wheel drive but it didn't disengage the front diff so when I went to take off it was in four-wheel drive and it kind of hopped real bad and it was in second gear and talking with transmission Builder it sounds like it rolled the sprag so we killed for second gear in the truck it's gone um so we launched it went to make that second year shift wasn't there finally grabbed third went down the track and lost like a 7-0 at 100. so it was not what we wanted to end the weekend on but we learned a lot of what not to do so at least we can go from there you made it to the semifinals and ran a PB out here so so I can't be too still making progress at least didn't happen on the first rip right so we've got a lot of stuff now that I want to address like it really highlighted how bad the shocks are I'm gonna send those out get them valved and just you know make some changes to the truck that uh probably should have been done already but I've been trying to Pinch A Penny and not do it so but it's highlighted all that we learned a lot of what not to do and we're just gonna keep improving from here yep so the 550 though that's still pretty yeah that's moving that puts us at number six on the fastest Eighth Mile Duramax stuff so it's kind of cool yep right get this thing back and fix break repeat yep that's how it goes but that's gonna do it
