DIY Desk Decor Ideas ♡ Desk Makeover Part 1

**Decluttering and Organizing My Desk Space**

As I sit at my desk, surrounded by papers, pens, and other office supplies, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the clutter. But today, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a more organized and peaceful workspace. One of the first things I tackled was the mousepad on my desk.

I had found a fun spin on a regular mousepad that not only worked well as a mousepad, but also added a pop of color and personality to my space. The mousepad was in a perfect size, and I loved its unique shape. It was the perfect accessory to add some whimsy to my workspace.

**Cute Desk Accessories**

In addition to organizing my desk space, I wanted to add some cute accessories to make it more visually appealing. One of the first things I did was use a pretty patterned mug as a pen holder. I had found the mug at a craft store, and I loved its design. I decided to fill the mug with pens, scissors, and other desk supplies that I used frequently. To add some height to my desk, I placed a small box of flowers on top of the mug. The combination of colors and textures was perfect.

**DIY Desk Clock**

Next, I wanted to create a DIY desk clock that would add a touch of elegance to my workspace. I had seen a photo of a beautiful marble tile-inspired clock online, and I fell in love with its design. Instead of using a real marble tile, which seemed like too much work, I decided to use foam board to recreate the clock. I started by tracing out the shape of a clock face on the foam board, and then cut it out with an exacto knife. To create the marbled effect, I stuck on some marbled paper and carved out the center hole using an exacto knife. Finally, I added my clock hands and proped up the clock in the back with a small piece of cardboard.

**Framed Desk To-Do List**

Another idea I wanted to try was creating a framed desk to-do list. I found a cute frame at a craft store that fit perfectly on my desk, and I printed out a pointing finger template to use as my guide. I taped the template onto the back of the paper and wrote out some simple tasks for the day using a dry erase marker. The result was a sleek and modern-looking to-do list that added a touch of functionality to my workspace.

**Finishing Touches**

To complete my desk makeover, I wanted to add a few finishing touches. First, I added a faux fur throw and pillow to my chair to give it a cozy feel. Next, I used some pretty aqua tiles as coasters to add a pop of color to my desk. Finally, I placed a cute notebook and DIY planner on my desk, which will be featured in my next video.

**Before and After**

After completing these simple tasks, my desk space looked completely transformed. The clutter was gone, and the desk was now peaceful and organized. I loved the way everything fit together, from the colorful mousepad to the framed to-do list. It was a small change, but it made a big difference in my productivity and overall happiness.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eneveryone and welcome back to my channel so my most popular video I've ever done on my channel was my DIY desk organization and decor video and for so long I've been wanting to do a part two to that video and I think it's a perfect time to do it now because it's back to school and I feel that having a really pretty dust makes you more motivated to want to be at that desk and get work done so the thing is I might have gotten a little too excited for this video because I came up with so many different DIY is that I had to break it up into two videos so today I'm going to be showing you of the desk decor items and then in next week's video I'm going to be showing you desk organization and dusk functionality ideas so look out for that video next week if you're watching this in real time if you're watching this in the future the video will already be up and if you want to watch that the link will be the first thing in the description box of this video please give this video a thumbs up if you like the ideas I'm showing you today and don't forget to subscribe if you're new to my channel I do a lot of different organization and decor videos okay so with all that being said let's get into our DIY at dusta for the first DIY we're going to do is a marble inspired desk pad I love the look of white and gray marble but it's really expensive so this is an inexpensive way to get that similar look so you want to get some poster board and adhere marble pattern adhesive paper to it I got this for only $10 from Amazon then cut it to the size you want based on your desk and that's pretty much it you just put this on your desk and it totally changes the look of your desk and since the paper is vinyl it's super durable and spill proof and I just absolutely love the way this looks on my desk next is a heart-shaped DIY mousepad I use this wooden heart cutout that I found at my craft store for only $2 and don't mind the hole on it I did that because I was going to use this for something else that you're going to see later so this is similar to the last DIY except this time we're going to use gold vinyl adhesive paper you can't find something similar to this wooden heart you can also use a plain mousepad and just cut it into the shape of a heart then what you want to do is stick the paper onto the cutout over and use your exacto knife to trim all around the edges and it personally bothered me that the sides didn't quite match with the color on the top so I took a gold sharpie and colored in the sides so they match perfectly but you don't have to do this this is totally optional I think this looks so cute and it's a fun spin on a regular mousepad and it also works really well as a mousepad in case you're worried about the shape it is the perfect size and I'm just in love with it next up is something cute to hold your pens and I had a bunch of different ideas but what I decided looks the nicest to me is just using a pretty pattern mug that matches your color theme and when I put some flowers in the others I put pens and scissors and other dust supplies I use the box that the mugs came in to put the flowers on top just to give it some height on my desk and I decided to only use one mug with pens on my desk because that's all there was really space for and I didn't want it to look too cluttered next is a desk clock that was inspired by this photo I saw and I fell in love with it I originally wanted to recreate it using a marble tile but that involves drilling and that's just a little too complicated for me so this is a really easy way to recreate it so you want to start with some foam board and trace out the shape of a hectic on or you could do this in any shape you like so whatever works this is six inches tall by six inches wide then cut out your shape with an exacto knife and to make the hole in the center of it I first used a nail to make the initial hole and then I pushed a pen through it it was the perfect size it was not hard to do it all then you want to stick on your marbled paper and I fold it over the edges and then I use the exacto knife to carve out the center hole then from there I put on my clock hands and this clock it was only five dollars for my craft store and to prop it up in the back I just used a small piece of cardboard with some superglue this is just the easiest way I could think of to do it but I'm sure there are other nicer ways to do it so whatever works for you quite so we see the next is a framed desk to-do list this is really simple to make you just want to start with a cute frame I found this one for less than $20 on Amazon and I think it is just so pretty and I love the 3d effect so I printed out this pointing finger but you can just write to do lists or whatever you want on it and cut it out to be the size to fit into your frame I use the stock photo as my guide to do this then I taped it down and put it back in the frame and then from there you can just use a dry erase marker to write your to-do list or whatever you want to write on here and I think it looks so nice and sleek on the desk I'm just in love with this and a couple other really easy death decor ideas to make my plain black desk chair look a little bit nicer I put a faux fur throw and a pillow on top so I just think it looks prettier that way I also found these pretty aqua tiles at my hardware store for only 79 cents each and I decided to use these as my coasters I also use some tiles to stock underneath my flowers just because I thought it looked nice and some final finishing touches I put a cute notebook and my DIY planner of the video for that will be linked below and also my DIY phone holder which I made in my last dusta for video so here is the final before and after of my desk area I think it looks really simple and sleek and it's totally my style and I hope you guys enjoy watching it too alright guys so those are my ideas for today's video I hope you
