Review! SteelSeries QcK Prism RGB Mousepad
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys I'm random Frank P they're going to be reviewing the new steel series quick prism RGB mousepad now yes this is in line with the razor and Corsair who have their own RGB mouse pads as well and yes I've done individual reviews and a comparison video for those two but you want to see a trio comparison with all three head-to-head let me know in the comment section down below so what's the deal with the new quick prism mousepad how does it stack up what are the pros and cons all that good stuff will cover it right now in the review first off the quick prism comes in at $59.99 and while most people might think that's kind of ridiculous for a mousepad it's definitely not that bad of a price if you're in the market for one of these considering its competitors out there and plus it has a few advantages the others don't they claim this is the world's first dual surface RGB mousepad and it definitely is unfortunately we're still on hold for the world's first CMYK mousepad now why would somebody want an RGB mousepad in the first place well as you guys know RGB is literally everything now when it comes to your setup and aesthetics there's something better than matching your mousepad to your keyboard your mouse your headset the RGB lies behind your monitor that are all blue or red or whatever you can now match your mousepad to everything in SteelSeries is already one of the leaders in the mousepad market with their quick series being one of the most popular selling so taking a look out of the box it's not bulky or obnoxious it comes in at 14 by 11 and a half inches which is just slightly bigger than this field series quick normal mousepad but again the big selling point here with this besides the RGB is the fact that it has dual surfaces we get a surface for speed and a surface for control the control side is much more standard going to feel like your average cloth mousepad it's definitely what I've been used to but when you flip it over to the speed that has more of a harder gliding plastic feeling kind of surface this is so obviously that your mouse can glide across it much faster I know for me personally like I said I am more of a fan of the control surface mainly because I usually have my mouse set to a very high DPI so I don't need that speed surface I like to feel the more control surface overall to accommodate my play style and then one thing that I really like about this quick prism mousepad is the USB area we don't have an extra slot or a hub so it's likely taken up a lot of space over all that area is very small and discreet an area where the USB is on the top left hand side of the mousepad and what's even better is it's not located directly in the middle on the back which a lot of RGB mouse pads have and that always interferes with your mouth cable as it is since they're both going out the back of the mouse pad it would kind of you know hit that little USB hub and interfere which was always very annoying so the fact they have it on the top left is definitely good but if you're someone like me who likes to keep your desktop you know neat and organized adding that extra cable here is still going to be an annoyance you know just adding an extra cable overall gift idea for cable management a little bit more and something like this is not realistic yet to be Wireless but it's just a trade-off if you want an RGB mousepad then before we move on overall it's nice and rugged it's not flimsy or anything and it's made of a rubber material so it's not going to be sliding around on your desktop now we're going to talk about one of the more compelling features the RGB lights here alright so over with the SteelSeries 3 engine you have the quick prism here when you click on it the whole device configurator comes up as you can see you have a 12 individual zones that you can mess with or do something like you know highlight them all but we're going to go through just some of the quick stuff here as you can see you can do things like have a steady color shift do like a multi color breathe it's going to fade from like one color to color something like a cool down timer to be good for mmo's and you know having that visually shown to you on your mousepad and then just disable the illumination as a whole what's going back to study again say you want it all one color will make it white and you know for the most part it's a really good job displaying that pure white color something that's actually not easily done with RGB lights we'll throw it back to the multi shifts for now and going over to some of the things on the side this little templates 8 o'clock looks like kind of like a Sun set kind of thing here default is going to be that popular RGB light wave going across the entire mousepad and over here you have different like presets of different colors you can have pop-up or certain wave patterns disco voters going to pulse these more warmer tone colors with pinks oranges and purples really like an eyes in the dark that's what I think is really cool looking one of my favorite on here firing lasers looks pretty cool pretty appropriate name loli looks pretty neat as well and again you can adjust the whole like lighting stuff over here in the color shift area to make it look kind of however you want or set it up you can even change the origin of where that kind of loading pulse is going to be it's subtle stuff but a cool gives you that option and you got McCall which is kind of like a lighter like tropical kind of shift here and then you got moat here which looks pretty lame to make but that's just me and so you want to really customize it with these zones I'll show you a quick example of how you can do that say we want like zone ten one four and seven be different colors you just click those click on the lights you want to be make it like pink you can do that and you can have these also not only just study colors but also things like changing colors so I guess here we have that moat Multi shift already enabled here it'll just go along with that you can do whatever you want each of the zones before we move on if you go into the engine apps you have the prism sync enabled here this is going to let you sync all of your SteelSeries RGB items together so they have another keyboard the master that we have is the headset the mouse you can have them all pulse and kind of glow in unison but what's also cool is they have different games that it works with right now they have like minecraft dota 2 in csgo and as you can see on the mousepad it's going to show you sometimes like the interactions in gain real-time in your mousepad like your health your round kills you have your armor level on the side of your ammo up top and having that real-time interaction there with the game and your mousepad is really cool it's not going to give you an edge at all or anything like that but it's so cool just to have and in the end guys for $60 the quick prism is definitely the best RGB mousepad on the market right now it's durable the fact you have those two interchangeable sides is great the lighting effects are cool it's easy to use really great stuff here and just ask for the quality of the services it is just really really great I found there were zero tracking issues on either side and my mouse also had no issue is gliding across the surfaces there is just one con i want to mention and i noticed that you guys might have to you will notice that you can see the individual twelve zones so if you take a closer look you can see where those zones start and end i honestly only really notice it on that default kind of rainbow wave transition it's just that as smooth i'd like it to be but in the end that's really my only major complaint everything else i'm really loving and i like i said it's the best RGB mouse pad on the market right now definitely recommend it for that price point so you guys want to pick it up or check it out I will put a link to the quick prisms in the description down below if you liked this review definitely give it a big thumbs up to show your support feel free to follow me on twitter at
