The Gumball 3000: A Wild Ride Through Scotland

As we set off on our journey, I have to admit that I'm not too thrilled about the galaxy sticker on my car's spoiler. However, the excitement of being part of the Gumball 3000 rally far outweighs any minor complaints. The crew is buzzing with energy as we make our way through the crowds, eager to start the next leg of our adventure.

We're heading up to the upper deck of the ship, which has been our home for now, but we're about to embark on a new journey. The crew is giving us a quick rundown of what's in store for us – a two-and-a-half hour crossing ahead, followed by a three-hour drive to Edinburgh. We'll take some time to edit some videos and chill out during the crossing. But as we arrive at the ship's door, we're greeted with an unexpected sight: a foreign crowd waiting to board.

"Foreign wow oh my god," I exclaim as I gaze around at the unfamiliar faces. "We're in Scotland now!" Our crew has been calling this place home for a while, but it's still surreal to be surrounded by so many new people. We take a moment to soak it all in before making our way down to the ferry terminal.

As we arrive in Scotland, I'm struck by the sheer number of people waiting to board. "There's a good crowd here at the ferry terminal," our crew notes. We're not alone – everyone seems to be heading out to explore this beautiful country. The atmosphere is electric, and we can't wait to start our adventure.

We spot our first police car as we make our way onto the island, which serves as a hub for the rally. "That's the only time we'll overtake the men in Brabus," our crew jokes with a grin. We're joined by Joe Ben, who will be taking the wheel for the final leg of the journey.

As we navigate through the streets of Edinburgh, I'm impressed by the sheer number of people out and about. "We've got loads of people looking over there all the way around," our crew notes. The city is bustling with activity, and we can't wait to explore it further. We make a quick stop at the bar, where we've been staying for the night, before setting off into the unknown.

The drive through Edinburgh is breathtaking – the stunning scenery and picturesque streets are a feast for the eyes. We're not alone on the road, however; there's a slight traffic jam as we make our way up the hill. But despite the crowds, the atmosphere remains electric. As we take in the views of the city, I'm struck by how beautiful it is – and yet, I'm also excited for what's to come.

We're not even at the checkpoint flag yet when we arrive on the scene, but the view from up here is all right – all the cars passing us by are pretty impressive. "Well, well, well, better Bruh," our crew jokes with a grin. We're having an absolute blast so far, and I know that tomorrow will be just as eventful.

As we take in the sights and sounds of Edinburgh, I'm filled with excitement for what's to come. The Gumball 3000 rally has always been about more than just driving – it's about adventure, camaraderie, and pushing ourselves to new limits. And as we gear up for our next leg, from Edinburgh to Manchester and down to London, I know that this will be an experience I'll never forget. The crew is getting ready for tomorrow's journey, and I'm eager to see what the day has in store.

unfortunately it's rather wet this morning seems to happen just about every year but today is set to be a really rather exciting day we're still at the hotel after a pretty awesome launch party last night some of the cars are still here but of course most of them are over at the grid ready for today's proceedings to get underway before we make our way over there first up though is a little drivers briefing from gumball founder max cooper so i'm going to head inside we're all here everyone's looking quite bright actually i think we're set for good quality drive joe's going to take the first stint over the start line again yeah that's about it and max is just having a couple of words with the local constabulary josh has the front row josh is ready for the uh for the briefing difficult night all night i would like to uh as i always do this is my opportunity really to kind of address you all on maps it's a non-stop rolling week effectively so almost the next time i get to talk to you all like this is at the grand finale dinner and book rests and uh in six days from there let's have an amazing rally and i look forward to getting to know you all during the week and uh let's make it safe and arrive in high spirits in bucharest okay cheers over so we are now heading to the grid we've got some shuttle buses just taking us for the short run over there all our luggage of course then we'll get to the cars and this is really starting to become gumball fever arriving in style how you doing this morning great how are you very good are you ready absolutely you're getting yourself we're still fresh i think we can uh survive a few more you know you're good keep getting your chariots out to the front at this end but firstly let's walk past the f1 car and afrojectsv that's now here because we've got the team galag cars the arkham knight batmobile which has just appeared out of nowhere the hugos have gone and now we legitimately have a batmobile here which is crazy it's even fully carbon fiber that is insane um we'll come back to that that's brilliant so team galaga have been driving in the batmobiles they had the old tumblr for the last couple of years this year with a completely new build and then next to that we've got the most insane sort of wide-body amg gts as well it's basically the sort of design of the gt3 car those are a pretty crazy pair of cars for the rally here on the grid if i can get my way through all the cars lined up and somebody's alarm is going off down there just kind of going too but there are quite a few people around we've got lots of things to sort out and gear up sort of for the atmosphere before it all gets underway let's have a glimpse inside here complete custom interior the carbon that's a really really pretty crazy way that opens up as well look at that batman's on gumball photo cool down engines are started the cars are getting ready and shortly to be heading out over the start line oh thank absolutely fine it's incredible there is a uh lamborghini underneath the hole you would never see this going he's such a joker um the banana ferrari oh um is drive safe have fun it's our time to drive we've got the car throttle boys behind us and we're hanging outside of the rs6 behind two events doors you can see there's some smoke in the sky um from a uh i think i don't even know what car it was that just did the bird out there i have no idea something made a lot of smoke we're about to roll the start line and get on our way to belfast while we're going down to starlight let's check out some t-shirts bit of fun why not wow hear some noise we're rolling down the grid it just goes on and on there's so many people here all right we're on the way then let's get to belfast and we're out of the first tunnel and already at the bridge there is a crowd of people we're going to see that most of the way probably on the route just people absolutely everywhere something really cool about gumball you get the fans everywhere as we well know from previous years and um i guess we don't really know where the best the sort of biggest reception is going to be this year it could be anywhere i think london's going to be undergoing this amazing well we're going to see oh yeah last year that's not my stomach all the insides that's the double lane hello first petrol stop and we knew we weren't going to be alone we've got three other gumballers here wolf pack here we go it's wolf pack did i read that correctly in the group there yes we got you're the first victims of the rally yeah we didn't get pulled over here we got pulled over in the city okay nothing special we took a turn into the wrong lane and the guy was such a prick he's like you can't drive on that side of the road i'm like yeah i know he's like do it again we're going to arrest you how many tourists does that happen to every day oh well because it can get smee we're tempted to take a shortcut we might give it a go so this is where the navigation comes into use and rather than sitting in this traffic jam we can take this other route to where we're going we're arriving in the titanic quarter in belfast we're following probably the world's noisiest panamera we're definitely in the right place because there seems to be quite a few people watching cars parked everywhere that thing is loud oh sweet we've got quite a crowd in front of us but we've made it to the first checkpoint in belfast guys all thank you oh we spotted a schmidt sign in the crowd so we're taking t-shirts that effort is well worth it the lunch stop has been in the titanic center behind us now we haven't actually had much time to have a look around because we got here a little bit later and we've got a ferry to catch because we're crossing over from belfast to ken ryan so we've got to get back into the grid um drive off immediately if we can find everyone and get on our way over to the ferry to hopefully not be the last on board so we can be one of the first um to get off it as well at the other side um yeah so we're gonna have to brave this crowd what's that car over there check out this baller he is balling hard wow serious downforce all the gumball cars lined up and ready to board we're gonna go around and we will join that queue in a moment assume that's the ferry we're boarding we're at the check-in for the ferry it's a good opportunity to hear it that's not bad from the outside i hadn't actually i think played a video of the rs6 from the outside yet all the cars queuing up unfortunately it's raining we've got the lt boys behind us how's your drive going you had a good start buddy yeah good stuff good stuff everybody lining up and then it will be a case of going around lining up here and then we board the ferry i suppose a few minutes later the window takes forever to go up this is the world's slowest window come on this is the uh the carpool lane the special lane here for cars with uh four people in them this is uh seven james lotus and uh i think we'll stick we'll take that spot excuse us we did that we did that yeah stay there okay this is cool all the cars heading through here and we are boarding the lower deck of the ferry this is um who thought they would ever see a batmobile driving onto a ferry we're on the ferry up towards the front and all of the cars are in here the galagam gts here the two 918's actually just over there everybody basically lined up and this is kind of surreal i mean how often do you see a ferry with a line of cars like this just walk down between them it's mental it's utterly utterly mental and the cars on this rally just my gosh they're aventador svs ctr three like a 700 and something horsepower c63 black series the gunpowder apollo that's so low did you look at that that's quite funny behind the bentley in front the gunpot is like this really little load thing it's got this crazy crazy paint job in the white and orange as well this is actually not so i like that the galaxy sticker on the spoiler but i mean man gumball 3000 hey gumball 3 000 so we're going to go upstairs it's about a two two and a half hour crossing from now and then when we get to the other side um we've got about three hour drive to edinburgh chill out during the crossing get some of these videos edited and take it from there the bar up here has been our home then but we are just arriving and we've been called to head downstairs weather doesn't look too good out there but everyone's heading down so i'm gonna join the crowds go find the car again and we'll drive out into
