Popin Cookin' Waffle Cafe - Whatcha Eating #93

I'm Back with a Pop and Cooking Kit!

Hi everyone, it's Emmy here, and I'm excited to share with you a much-requested and anticipated pop and cooking kit that was given to me by Paper Pastels Ashley over at YouTube. The kit is specifically designed to make heart-shaped waffles, and I'm eager to try it out.

The kit comes with a tray, a mixing scoopula, spatula, and four packets of powder. Once you cut everything up, the contents should look like this: inside the box, there's a little line where you fill your powder, add one scoop of water, mix well, and do it twice to get two balls of waffle dough. To create the heart shape, simply press the dough into the little waffle form.

Now that we have our two balls of dough, let's move on to making the blueberry jelly. Blueberry jelly smells like fake blueberry, and you'll need to add one scoop of water to it. Next, carefully scoop the contents into the tiny circles on the tray. These are really cute, with small ones and large ones available. Make sure to let these sit for five minutes to allow the whipped cream to gel up.

Time to make the ichigo sausu! You'll need strawberry powder, so add one scoop of water and mix well. The aroma immediately smells like strawberry - isn't that amazing? Now that we have our waffles ready, let's start by drizzling some strawberry sauce on top of each heart-shaped waffle. We can also cook the blueberries in the back to bring out their natural sweetness.

Let's place the blueberries and strawberries on top of our waffles, followed by a little bit of whipped cream. And there we have it - the adorable little heart-shaped waffles all finished! The smell is indeed very berry-like, so I'm curious to see what it tastes like.

The first bite is... quite an experience. The texture isn't what you'd expect from a typical crisp Belgian waffle; it's more rubbery and wet than crispy. However, the flavor is actually pretty good - I can taste the strawberry and blueberry flavors coming through. It's not as bad as some of the other pop and cooking kits I've tried before.

In fact, this one reminds me quite a bit of The Happy Kitchen Donut, but with better flavor. You get to taste the strawberry and blueberry flavors, which is lovely. The cute little star shape on top of each waffle is also an added touch.

Now that we have our waffles by themselves, let's try them out individually. The texture is interesting - it's almost like a jello-like gelatinous and cold. But the flavor isn't as strong as I expected; you can taste a hint of blueberry, but not much else.

Next up, let's try the strawberry sauce on its own. It tastes just like strawberry Kool-Aid! The vanilla cream is smooth and sweet, but tastes more like frosting than actual vanilla ice cream. That being said, it does have a stronger vanilla flavor coming from the waffle itself.

Overall, I think this pop and cooking kit is quite novel and has some unique features that I haven't seen before. Ashley deserves a big thank you for giving me this kit - I really appreciate it!
