Motorola Keylink Review - ThioJoeTech
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up guys I got a review for you today this is the Motorola keylink it just came out today I went and picked it up at T-Mobile but you can also order it online at Motorola's website and basically what this does it's a little fob that you put on your keychain and it helps you find your keys or your phone and how it works is really simple you just put on your keychain download the Motorola Connect app on your phone link this to your account and then you can ping this device through your phone and it'll make a noise so if you ever lose your keychain this will start making noise and you can also do it in reverse if you lose your phone you can press the button on the back of this twice and it will ring your phone and it is loud enough to hear from a pretty far distance now it works pretty well my apartment is kind of small but it is able to go through the entire apartment through several walls the Motorola Connect app works well it gives you the option to turn off the Phone Finder in case you want to save a little bit of battery and it also has the ability to link to your phone as a trusted device if you have Android 5.0 which makes it so if your keychain is within range of the phone then you don't have to type in your password for your phone which is kind of cool it also lets you show a map of where your keychain was last seen the way this works is it connects to your phone's GPS it doesn't have it itself and it basically keeps tabs on when and where your keychain is within range if your keychain goes too far away presumably because you took your phone too far away from the keychain it will show you the last connected location presumably because that's probably where your keychain is going to be I'll do a quick demonstration of pinging the device you simply press the Ping button in the app and it makes a noise and you can cancel it by either pressing the button on here or pressing ping cancel pinging your phone is just as easy you press the button on the back twice and it will start ringing your phone looking like this now you can actually turn this on and off if you want to save the battery for some reason by holding down the button and that's to turn it on and off it'll make a beeping sound so you know that it's on or off it of course comes with a little metal hook to hook to your keychain and it seems to be of good quality now the size of the key link is pretty reasonable if it's on your keys or something like that you can see it's probably about the same size as maybe your key for your car not too light I mean it's pretty much what you would expect it doesn't really get in the way but if you have a big keychain it might be a bit fumbly in your pocket now the build construction is reasonably solid it's got standard plastic but it feels a little bit weighty it's not cheap by any means so it definitely feels like a quality product I even dropped it a couple times but it still works now the maximum 100 ft is probably for open air with no walls so in my small apartment it was able to go across the whole thing but if you have a bigger house and it doesn't reach across your whole house worst case scenario you probably have to go into different sides of your house and try it but I don't really see that being too much of a problem so overall this seems like a pretty good product especially if you happen to lose your keys all the time this might be for you I'd like to hear what you guys have to say so you can leave a comment if you want also don't forget to subscribe and like the video because I try to make new videos at least once a week so thanks for watching and I'll see you next timehey what's up guys I got a review for you today this is the Motorola keylink
