Wait for Windows 8 - or Not

**Windows 8: The Future is Now**

Are you ready to live on the bleeding edge? If you're an edge user, a power user, then Windows 8 is the operating system for you. With its modern UI experience, this new version of Windows is designed to provide a faster and more efficient way of computing. But what does that mean for those who are happy with their current version of Windows? Do they need to upgrade?

**Living on the Bleeding Edge**

Windows 8 was built to be an operating system for touchscreen computers, but it's also available for desktops and laptops. This means that if you're a fan of living on the bleeding edge, then this is definitely the version of Windows for you. With its new features and user interface, Windows 8 offers a completely new way of experiencing Windows.

**The Legacy of Old Versions**

One thing to keep in mind when considering an upgrade to Windows 8 is that it's a radical departure from what we're used to with older versions of Windows. If you're happy with your current version of Windows and don't feel like you need the latest and greatest, then there's no need to upgrade. Windows XP is still running strong on many systems, and for good reason - it works well.

**Mission-Critical Apps**

Another thing to consider when thinking about upgrading to Windows 8 is whether or not your favorite apps will run on the new version of Windows. If you have mission-critical apps that you use every day, you may want to wait until they're compatible with Windows 8 before making the switch. This could be a major consideration for some users.

**The User Experience**

One of the biggest concerns about Windows 8 is its user experience. Experts have weighed in on this issue, and many are saying that the modern UI can be confusing and even throw customers under the bus. The problem is that it's not just one or two things - it's a whole different way of thinking about how you interact with your computer.

**Should You Upgrade?**

So, should you upgrade to Windows 8? Well, that depends on what your needs are. If you're happy with your current version of Windows and don't need the latest features and technologies, then there's no reason to upgrade. However, if you want to stay on the bleeding edge and be one of the first to experience this new version of Windows, then it may be worth considering.

**The Cost**

Another consideration is the cost. While Windows 8 was initially relatively expensive, Microsoft has made it more affordable in recent months. If you're due for a new computer anyway, then upgrading to Windows 8 won't break the bank. However, if you don't have the extra money to spend, then there's no need to upgrade.

**The Verdict**

Ultimately, whether or not you should upgrade to Windows 8 depends on what your needs are and what you're comfortable with. If you're a fan of living on the bleeding edge and want to try out this new version of Windows, then it may be worth considering. However, if you're happy with your current version of Windows and don't need the latest features and technologies, then there's no reason to upgrade.

**Windows 8 for You**

One thing that's clear is that Microsoft has set its sights on creating an operating system that will work well on both desktops and touchscreen devices. This means that if you're looking for a computer with Windows 8, you may have more options than ever before. Whether or not this is a good thing for users is still to be seen.

**The Experience of Windows 8**

One of the things that's going to be interesting about Windows 8 is how it will feel to use it every day. For some users, the modern UI experience may be a welcome change from the familiar desktop interface they're used to. However, for others, it may take some getting used to.

**The Surface with Windows RT**

One of the ways that you can try out Windows 8 is by purchasing a new computer, such as the Surface with Windows RT. This device is designed to showcase the capabilities of Windows 8 and provide a user-friendly interface for people who are new to this version of Windows. Whether or not this will appeal to users is still to be seen.

**The Verdict**

In conclusion, whether or not you should upgrade to Windows 8 depends on what your needs are and what you're comfortable with. If you're a fan of living on the bleeding edge and want to try out this new version of Windows, then it may be worth considering. However, if you're happy with your current version of Windows and don't need the latest features and technologies, then there's no reason to upgrade.

Windows 8 two if you don't mind learning a few new tricks this is a radical departure from what you've been used to experiencing in Windows so in Windows 8 you do have two modes that are sewn together in the way that Microsoft wanted to approach this particular uh Marketplace uh in the marketplace of computing you switch between the modern UI and the classic desktop UI and there are you know different ways of getting to different parts of windows but you know if you use it for a little while and you really want to get over the hurdle that that learning curve it shouldn't be too much of an issue at least on the surface and I don't mean the surface PC that's a completely different video for a completely different day tomorrow I'm doing a live unboxing on YouTube if you are in love with run Windows or other versions of Windows on other computers why not have Windows 8 why not and I guess it's really why not that's that's a great reason to upgrade to Windows 8 or to buy it uh so why shouldn't you buy or upgrade to Windows 8 uh one and this is very important if you are fine with the way Windows is running now whatever version of Windows you're using do not upgrade as I said before eight and RT they're they look the same but they're different they are radical departures of what you've been used to experiencing in Windows and if what you have in Windows suits you just fine and you love it there's no need to upgrade don't feel that you have to upgrade those versions of windows will likely be supported for at least a little while longer and look how many people are still using Windows XP it works that well so another reason you may not upgrade or may not want to upgrade to Windows 8 you have Mission critical apps that won't run yet and when I say that I'm talking about like programs that you need to use and you know know they work on the version of Windows you're using now they may not work on Windows 8 this is a new operating system it's a different operating system in many ways it's un windows esque for being windows and I realize it's a little odd to say but I I I'll kind of get to that point in just a second if you don't know if your favorite programs are going to run on Windows 8 don't jump at least not yet uh another reason you wouldn't want to upgrade if you want to see how other people feel after using it first other experiences May dictate what you decide to do with your money I have some issues with the way that Microsoft is approaching this particular well iteration of Windows they've combined or really smashed together um two different user experiences in the same operating system so the version of Windows that I'm running here I could run just as easily on a touchscreen device although certain usability paradigms are more prevalent on a touchscreen device than they are the classic desktop experience with like a mouse and a keyboard they're just mashing everything together and very very very very very very very wellestablished experts ux experts that's short for user experience experts have come out like yakob neelsen saying uh the user experience in Windows 8 throws customers under the bus it's not me saying that experts are saying it could potentially be a very confusing experience because it's not because you can't get used to it is that your mind has to switch off and on between usability paradigms are using the modern UI I almost said Metro that's the former name for the modern UI are you using the classic desktop are you touching the screen are you using the mouse are you using the keyboard is it a tablet is it a laptop and then before you know it you're dizzy that's normal well at least the normal experience for Windows 8 that might bother you it might bother some and then of course you should not upgrade if you don't feel that you have the money to upgrade even though they've made it relatively affordable for at least the short term if you don't have the extra money to spend don't spend it in many cases you're going to get Windows 8 when you buy a new pc Windows 8 for what it is is good I don't know how customers are going to react there are a lot of choices in the marketplace I obviously have windows8 running here I'm getting my Surface with Windows RT tomorrow very much looking forward to that to me Windows 8 or Windows RT certainly uh really Shines on a touchreen scen computer Windows 8 was built for touchscreen computers and I hate to say that to everybody out there who's running a classic computer or classic PC you know with a keyboard and a mouse you might like Windows 8 but dude it's it's totally totally I want to do this with with this I I and I can't because it's not a touchscreen computer so there's some good there's some bad you guys may have different opinions different takes uh you got a different life to lead certainly everybody's opinion is valid uh but don't feel like you're alone in wanting it or not wanting it we all have different choices to make so what do you think is Windows 8 for youthank you for watching liking commenting sharing and subscribing right now hello world I'm Chris pillo and this is your geek out for
