**A Convenient Battery Pack with Dual Functionality**
As I was walking and thinking about my Apple watch and iPhone, it suddenly dawned on me that the USBC port might be bi-directional. I decided to test this theory by grabbing an eyewalk battery and plugging it into my phone using a USB-C to Lightning cable. To my surprise, it worked! The battery pack was able to charge both my phone and Apple watch at the same time, providing a convenient solution for traveling or everyday use.
**A Useful Feature for Travelers**
This feature is particularly useful for travelers who want to bring only one charging device with them. By using this battery pack, they can charge their phone and Apple watch simultaneously without having to carry separate cables or devices. The battery pack itself weighs somewhat more than a Lightning cable, but the convenience of having both devices charged at once makes it well worth carrying.
**Testing the Battery Pack**
I tested this battery pack with an iPhone 12, which took approximately 90 minutes to charge from completely empty to 100%. The battery pack showed 25% remaining power afterwards. Overall, I was impressed with the battery pack's performance and design. It feels secure when plugged into my phone, allowing me to use my device while it's charging.
**The DBL 6000m Power Grip Mag**
In contrast, the DBL 6000m Power Grip Mag is a larger capacity battery pack intended for pro-sized phones with magsafe technology. The capacity is six thousand milliamp hours, which seems excessive considering the efficiency of wireless charging. I tested this battery pack on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, but it only managed to charge my device up to around 89%. This is likely due to the lower operating power of 7.5 watts compared to Apple's genuine magsafe charger at 15 watts.
**Design Issues with the DBL 6000m Power Grip Mag**
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the design of this battery pack. The non-slip gripping material on the back is not effective in holding onto my phone, and the finger ring feature is also compromised due to the sliding motion of the battery pack. Furthermore, the only provided magnet for securing the battery pack to my phone case does not stick well enough, making it difficult to achieve a stable connection.
**Conclusion**
In conclusion, I highly recommend the eyewalk battery pack with dual functionality. It's a convenient solution for travelers and everyday use, and its performance and design are impressive. On the other hand, I would advise against purchasing the DBL 6000m Power Grip Mag due to its excessive capacity, design issues, and lack of replacement magnet stickers in the box.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enif you ask a group of teenagers what their biggest nightmare is they probably put running out of phone battery right at the top of the list and by teenagers I mean most of us occasionally though running out of battery isn't the end of the world Dave Dave Dave you're never even believe what happened so I was doing some online shopping the other day because you know I'm always online shopping it's a very neat kind of thing to do anyway Asos has an 80 sale at the moment 80 how crazy is that anyways I was shopping around and I was like what do I need and then I ended up buying like five dresses I didn't even need dresses I already have so many dresses but anyway I was like if I've got a green dress of Daisy though and I also need matching shoes Zone into shoes and I bought these like Green Hills and usually I don't wear heels because I'm already tours is nine quit and I was like okay yeah sure so I bought these green shoes and they totally match address and I'm literally so Dave Dave but if you're not having to listen to Aaron's drivel about her fashion purchases then yes your phone battery dying part way through the day is not exactly a winner and that's why today we'll be looking at two different products from iwalk to help with this foreign disclosure iwalk sent us these review samples without charge and we're not required to return them but as always we'll give you our honest opinion and I walk don't get to see or change this video before we publish it now the two products in question are simply battery banks that are tailored for your phone specifically the iPhone we've got here the iwalk portable now this is a small 4 800 milliamp hour battery that plugs straight into the lightning Port of any iPhone then we've also got the power grip magsafe battery pack which magnetically attaches to the back of your phone and charges it wirelessly so we have two different approaches to charging your phone and spoiler alert here one of these is brilliant and one of them not so much let's start with the eyewalk portable it's a neat design you just plug it into your iPhone and you're done it's got this LCD display here to show how much power is left in the battery and there's a button on the side so that you can check that at any time now this one is available in four different colors we've got the nice manly Black Version here but there's also white pink and purple and based on the product images iwalker clearly thinking that these will appeal to the ladies now as you can see if you are of a selfie taking persuasion I walk reckon this product might be for you especially if you also frequent the city and make the business calls is this the same model in the photos here I can't tell but calm down Lads she's taken let's just examine some of iwalk's claims on their website for this product the specific model we've got here is the DBL 5000pl and apparently customers are saying about this that it is a very good looking portable plug-in power bank just like the lipstick and watch you carry around oh I'll admit I'm uh no lipstick Aficionado not on camera anyway but I'd say this is perhaps slightly larger and heavier than your average lipstick but point taken my wife who's not the best at remembering to charge her devices has been carrying this one around in our handbag and it does seem to be a convenient size for doing that but I'm not entirely sure how it compares to a watch but let's move on to the story of the ultra compact power bank are you still worrying about holiday gifts for friends family lovers are you still struggling with gifts for unisex friends we will provide you iPhone users with a more powerful gift solution if you or your friends are going on a business trip for a few days and want to do it without the burden and with those words of wisdom ringing in our ears let's check the claims we've got 18 Watts fast recharging of the power bank itself which iwalk claims will allow you to charge this power bank in one and a half hours and so we tested this with a 100 watt Gan USBC charger and it actually took about 10 minutes longer than that going from empty to 100 but I'll call it a fair claim and next we have the pass through charging functionality and this is really very useful rather than charge the battery pack in your iPhone separately you just plug the battery pack into your iPhone and then you connect the battery pack itself to a USBC charger and it will charge both the battery and the phone at the same time however when I tested this with my iPhone 12 Pro Max I encountered a bit of an issue because the battery pack finishes charging before the phone does and once this reaches 100 it stops the pass through charge and that is a pretty annoying oversight in the design but with a smaller iPhone it probably isn't a problem iwalk also claims simultaneous charging of iPhone and Apple watch what Day from the future here just cutting in because as we were editing this video about thinking about this idea of charging your Apple watch with a battery that's made for your iPhone it suddenly dawned on me that the USBC Port might be bi-directional now I walked don't specifically mention this on the website but we just run in to grab one of the eyewalk batteries and I've got a USBC to lightning cable here so I'm just going to plug it into my phone and we'll we'll see what happens and sure enough it does charge so you could have either of these batteries connected to your phone and at the same time have a USBC Apple watch charger and I guess that's how you charge your phone and your watch at the same time back to Dave of the past this is a great charger for traveling apparently because it means you don't need to bring a lightning cable and that allows you to travel lighter true although the battery pack itself does weigh somewhat more than a lightning cable but we get the point it is a useful feature to have so we tested this battery pack with an iPhone 12 and it took 90 minutes to charge it to 100 from completely empty and the battery pack showed 25 remaining afterwards overall this battery pack feels pretty secure when it's plugged into your phone so you could absolutely use the phone whilst it's charging just like the marketing pictures show and so overall I have to say that this one is a win it's a neat product that does exactly what it should do and probably nothing more and at 35 is an absolute no-brainer for iPhone users and yes it probably is a great holiday gift for your unisex friends and that brings us then to the other contender in our dual product Showdown this is the DBL 6000m power grip mag it's available in black white pink and also apparently Orange it's got the same LCD display here and it charges again via USBC the capacity is higher at six thousand milliamp hours and it's intended for the pro Max size of phone with magsafe although it will also work on a phone that has a magsafe case attached now it's an interesting idea but I'm going to say right now that I don't think it works because wireless charging is inefficient so despite this being a larger capacity battery it can only get my iPhone 12 Pro Max up to about 89 and whilst that iPhone can charge at 15 watts with Apple's genuine magsafe charger this battery pack operates at the lower 7.5 Watts rate biggest issue that I have though is with the actual design of the product it does have a decent enough magnet but the battery pack moves around on the phone now they've put these two areas of non-slip gripping material on the back but they're set flush with the surface of the battery pack and they just don't grip onto the phone at all and this ruins another feature of the pack which is this finger ring here the idea is that you can get more security whilst you're holding your phone but because the battery pack moves around it's just as easy to end up pulling it off the phone the other use for the ring is to stand your phone up whilst you're enjoying some content but this is pretty unsatisfactory because the battery pack is sliding around on the phone and what if like pretty much everybody you want to use a case with your phone well if you've got a magsafe case then you'll get a strong connection but you have also then moved the battery pack a bit further away from the charging coil in the phone and that's going to reduce performance if you don't have a magsafe case I walk duper provide a stick-on magnet in the box but this hasn't been well thought through at all because the magnet is just over a millimeter thick and that means that these supposedly grippy pads won't be anywhere near making contact with the surface of the phone case and of course you've now moved it even further away from the phone's charging coil worse still there's only one magnet provided in the box so when your case inevitably wears out and you want to replace it you're not going to be able to use your battery pack anymore and I can't see anywhere on iwalk's website where you can buy replacement magnet stickers I don't really like to do negative reviews but either I've been sent a defective product here or they just didn't do any real meaningful product testing but if for some reason you do want to take a risk on buying one of these they're thirty four dollars personally I wouldn't bother I'd buy this one instead because I think it makes much more sense it's actually well designed it's decently priced and definitely worth a look there are links in the description as always and we'd like to thank you of course for your subs your shares your comments your likes even your dislikes and we'll see you again soon for some more geekery thank you foreignif you ask a group of teenagers what their
