Kind: captionsLanguage: enpistol' a lot of Mustangs over the last 50 years of consumer reports well not me personally because the reports has and the very first one was a 1964 and a half model just like this one here well today we have the 2015 this redesigned model is the least incarnation of the breed and I for one have been really looking forward to driving it here at the Consumer Reports test track so how is the 2015 Mustang so I'm driving around right now with 6-speed manual transmission short throws 310 horsepower but here's the thing it's a four-cylinder yes that's right it's a 2.3 liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering three dirt and a horse balance now this isn't the first time that Ford Mustang has had a four-cylinder engine it had fact that had a 2.3 liter four-cylinder turbo before and back in the 80s that motor was anemic it was based off a Pinto motor had a lot of turbo lag this is a fully modern engine now while you get the four-cylinder turbo there's also a v6 and a v8 the v6 that's actually the base motor and the base motor delivers 300 horsepower now and that car comes in or about 24,000 dollars of the base price now if you really want the performance nothing beats a v8 lots of power lots of torque now comes in at 435 horsepower that's the choice for a Mustang purist now with any of those engine options if it was me I'd get the six-speed manual but you could also get a 6-speed automatic and of course you still could get as a convertible but the thing about the Mustang is it's not all about power in fact even in the last generation this was a car that not only had that power but it handled great it was actually quiet it rode decently this is the car that you can live with every day so this new generation tries to build upon that refinement finally what we're getting is an independent rear suspension now Mustangs had live rear axles for a long time an independent rear suspension it's a technology that's gonna allow the car to ride better and handle better this is something that's been kind of conspicuously absent on this car for a very long time another thing that was missing from the old car was technology well sure it had sync which had some voice controls and some nice features but now we get the full mine and we've got my Ford touch we've got a lot of customizable gauges on the dashboard and the interior overall it's really improved quite a bit all-in-all this looks to be a good evolution of the breed we're looking forward to buying our own test car and putting it through its paces here at the Consumer Reports test track and we'll let you know if lives up for the Mustang name

just like this one here well today we have the 2015 this redesigned model is the least incarnation of the breed and I for one have been really looking forward to driving it here at the Consumer Reports test track so how is the 2015 Mustang so I'm driving around right now 6-speed manual transmission short throws 310 horsepower but here's the thing it's a four-cylinder yes that's right it's a 2.3 liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering three dirt and a horse balance now this isn't the first time that Ford Mustang has had a four-cylinder engine it had fact that had a 2.3 liter four-cylinder turbo before and back in the 80s the that motor was anemic it was based off a Pinto motor had a lot of turbo lag this is a fully modern engine now while you get the four-cylinder turbo there's also a v6 and a v8 the v6 that's actually the base motor and the base motor delivers 300 horsepower now and that car come in or about 24,000 dollars of the base price now if you really want the performance nothing beats a v8 lots of power lots of torque now comes in at 435 horsepower that's the choice for a Mustang purist now with any of those engine options if it was me I'd get the six-speed manual but you could also get a 6-speed automatic and of course you still could get as a convertible but the thing about the Mustang is it's not all about power in fact even in the last generation this was a car that not only had that power but it handled great it was actually quiet it rode decently this is the car that you can live with every day so this new generation tries to build upon that refinement finally what we're getting is an independent rear suspension now Mustangs had live rear axles for a long time an independent rear suspension it's a technology that's gonna allow the car to ride better and handle better this is something that's been kind of conspicuously absent on this car for a very long time another thing that was missing from the old car was technology well sure it had sync which had some voice controls and some nice features but now we get the full mine and we've got my Ford touch we've got a lot of customizable gauges on the dashboard and the interior overall it's really improved quite a bit all-in-all this looks to be a good evolution of the breed we're looking forward to buying our own test car and putting it through its paces
