The Adventure Begins: A Day in the Life of Sick Week
It's 10 o'clock and literally just had two maybe three miles on it okay all together before going on the trailer and coming here so this is a theme I've heard from a lot of guys like oh yeah we've got 20 miles on it it's like this guy right here has busted his ass for 12 months I mean I did some of the wiring the year ago it was nothing they built this car in a year yeah well I like what you did we all do because I first of all you don't see air-cooled Volkswagens with carbon fiber on them you just don't and then the huge dirt we love the turbos yeah yeah we like the car boys do you guys see the truck that witty broke is right there I didn't break anything I didn't do that hey you know what the best part is Woody not only did you ruin their week huh they're from Canada they're from Quebec Canada you ruined their international trip the thing is I was pointing my camera this way they rolled into the shot and started doing everything on their own and I didn't even get a picture because that wasn't why did you yell at them do a burnout do a burnout do burnout yeah was that before or after you threatened his whole family I don't think we can put that in the video dude all right guys we've hung out for a few minutes 30 45 minutes caught up with some Racers saw some cars now we're back on the road to head to checkpoint number two no no no no no no no no no no no no I'm allowed to be here what do you think it's not the Honda it's not what you think I ran out of gas it's been I ran out again don't you have a tote or something I know but we tried stretching it okay so that's it that's it was kind of getting hot but I think it was just a fluke it's probably air pocket you sure it didn't overheat and stop running I'm pretty sure it won't start now because it's out of gas I mean we can look down the abyss I mean there ain't nothing down there you guys got somebody coming with gas oh he's got gas oh you got gas oh yeah he just hurry up that's what I said dude this guy's cold I'm cold I don't want to be out here man let's do this come on he just wanted to show his lights off he knew you he knew you'd pull he's got underglow on the trailer he knew you'd pull over and he goes watch this yo you got any more Girl Scout cookies man all right the turtle started it kind of topped off on water and fuel we're back on the road go to the second checkpoint all right guys we have made it to the second and final checkpoint on day one of sick week this year it is Woody's River Roux they have to take a picture with I'm guessing it's a bar or restaurant or something like that so normally these checkpoints are in place everybody can park hang out chill that type of stuff but they put on the thing that the that the lot is pretty small so people are just rolling in taking pictures and rolling right back out there's only a few more miles left on the route to get to Bradington so as soon as we're done here we're probably just gonna plug in the GPS to the hotel and head there and then go to the tracks tomorrow we're gonna see who rolls in for the next few minutes we got the six second rats here wagons here Mustang the RX-8 made it how's the drive so far going good yeah no no troubles nothing nope not nice very nice very nice yep head to the hotel you bet we'll see you guys in the morning thank you I always love checking in with first timers because they're always really excited and they're it's just they're taking it on for the first time and it's awesome dragon drives are so much fun we got a little bit of a late start on the drive today probably three and a half hours later than we really wanted to get on the road but everybody had to do that so everybody's here rolling through and going to the hotel right away it's like 11 15 at night which is pretty late to be on doing these Dragon drives but uh seems like everybody's doing okay nobody's like broken down at this one which sometimes they stop here and fix their stuff nobody so far nobody all right guys we're gonna go ahead and head to the hotel that is gonna do it for this video make sure you guys subscribe and hit that Bell so you get a notification every time we drop a video and it will be every day this week of sick week so we'll see you guys in the next video freaking Epic this is so ridiculous

think there's 320 330 competitors on property everybody has to make a pass the whole point of a dragon Drive is you make a pass at East track you have to drive to each track you can't trailer your own car nothing like that you take your own tools your own spare parts all that it should be between eight hundred and thousand miles they're doing Orlando Bradington South George Motorsports Park Gainesville and then back here to Orlando on Friday all right we got the first cars lined up to go down the track a lot of slick Tire cars Alex Taylor's in the lanes she had a couple troubles yesterday we're gonna go talk to her see what her game plan is for day one hi Alex how are you I'm all right so what was the deal with the car yesterday what was going on well we tried in Bradenton transmission issues and so all of our testing kind of got Complete because we uh didn't have that kind of data because we switched converters back gotcha um so I'm gonna try to hit it with more power and just overpowered the tire set on yesterday gotcha turn it down a little one bigger straws all right what's the goal for this week what are we doing um buying the sky goal 690s every day all right so Friday when we meet back here low sevens average right that's the goal all right nothing broke that's not fixable there you go there you go there you go good luck today foreign foreign see how we eight two one the baddest Wagon on the property is here this thing is one of my favorite vehicles I love wagons and the Boost Master II is just the epitome of Dragon Drive wagons this thing's awesome foreign behind me is our friend Brian now Brian's done Dragon drives for probably the past 10 years and with this Javelin he's gone pretty fast now the last time you guys probably saw the javelin on our Channel unfortunately it was rolling down the track and it wrecked it's back I don't know if it's the same course you got a different chassis but it's back and he flip-flopped the paint so if you want if you see pictures of videos from what it used to look like it's flip-flop which is kind of cool oh we'll find out okay so last time we saw this car unfortunately I think it was on its route last time we saw the car right is this the same car or is it different chassis it's the same chassis um new front clip okay and we did some upgrades in the back and it's an all new body except for the rocker panels the pillars and the firewall still same power plant and all that good stuff yeah that was all good you shoot for sixes all week or what are we doing yeah okay I like the flip-flop paint Scheme you did on this yeah I'm just screwing on me now I like I honestly like it so it looks good good luck today man thanks man oh yeah foreign with the C4 Corvette really fast car and like I said they won last year so they're looking to reach 100 foreign now I know some of you guys at home might look at some of these cars that think there's no way that's street legal how are they driving on the road actually every single car part of tech is it has to be street legal has to be registered insured all that good stuff headlights blinkers everything if you look at Tom Bailey's car right here it looks like he doesn't have any headlights well a lot of these big boy cars have Street trim and race trips sometimes it takes a couple hours to get from one room to the other so after he's done making pass today he's going to work on his car for about two hours and Street trip let's go through headlights different Grill all that stuff and then he can get on the road literally every car you see today will drive on the road and we'll have to do 800 to A Thousand Miles to finish the week Oh shoot no man very good shoulder voice is wrecked he ran a 665. strong and then we've got Squirrely and wrecked it doesn't look too frantic down there so I assume he's up talking and giving them information they just announced he's out of the car car's kind of messed up but he's fine and that's what's important so I'm driving through the pits trying to look for Racers trying to look for Carnage stuff like that they're using this crane right here to pull an engine out and put a new one in I don't know the story yet we're gonna talk fellas it's day one what are we doing before we do an oil change okay but we've done it by emptying the soundpower this is probably the hardest way to do an oil change but I I like it thorough thorough that's what it is so what actually happened was it was it testing yesterday you broke yeah gotcha it's all fun it's all part of the game little party experience where'd you get this one at James oh he went and picked one up no he's pulling it out remote on his Drive last night three o'clock been to sleep yet we've been on 30 hours you guys are awesome and we're not even racing this is the Carnage right here oh God glove over here with all the metal pieces well at least you did it right at least you didn't just like break a ring land or something you did it you did it the right way you broke everything yes exactly how many people come to a race they break it on testing they're like screw it we're just gonna throw a whole nother motor that um so before I did the whole two chassis deal right but now that you did two you did two chassis from the firewall back is that right so it's like a three-quarter chassis gotcha so I did that it's like much better that was one of the main reasons how to change it because I went 155 with it I Had A Streetcar event and it was like I gotta do some stuff I'm scared I wanted to go faster than that but I was like I'm not doing that until you know this thing feels a little better right so I think we got it now well I like it hopefully we see a something in the eights and then if you see like something in the eighth you're packing up and going or you're gonna all right such a great sound they're so ridiculous I feel like a Giants standing next to this car engine Here Comes Rocky 2.0 runs Dragon Drive is making sure your trailer tools and spare parts are all figured out because you're gonna need them so we're gonna go around through a couple trailers today tomorrow throughout the week and check out some of these Trails how they're set up how they figured them out and uh some of these guys really put a lot of thought in these things and they need to be highlighted so we're going to show you a couple of those all right hey brother all right please so part of the Dragon Drive is a big part of it is having a legit trailer setup you gone through your future trailers you think you up here hopefully they do it soon because I think we only have like one round to go it's the everybody class so hopefully very soon here this thing got an LS Turbo a lift what more could you hunt for to be in this car all week all week all weekend yep so what what's the setup what do we first of all what is it it's a 1930 Ford Roadster okay uh built in 1961. okay shortened up he's got about a foot cut out of here uh I bought the car in 1978 I was 17 years old oh you've had this whole I've had it a long time okay yep we uh did uh miles of Mayhem in Canada for the first time last year at the first time the car uh last year it's the first time the car went more than 25 miles at one time so we did a thousand miles after miles Mayhem right yeah yeah so what's the setup where we got uh 468 very mild five ten horse uh uh turbo 400 325 years it's a car is heavier than you think it's it's like 2700 really yeah so on miles of Mayhem how was it living in this for a week it was actually really good really it was really good I imagine if you've had it since you were 17 you've probably done everything in this car by now you know I did we ripped the interior part uh we blew the engine uh after the first day in Saskatoon we blew the engine on day two so we changed that yeah it it it's way more comfortable than you think okay okay well I had to come talk to you also I love the bass boat glitter thing you know you're the second guy that said that well good luck on your pass what are we shooting for uh it's like an 11-0 car around 11 30 yesterday yeah good luck to you soon we'll recovered him before things got too dicey five and one's 27 and we're gonna need to clean whatever the heck that is a little bit of fluid a lot of sand they got hand fitted somewhere in that sand out here as you can see right here that's all sand that's what he drug up here and dropped on the track here comes that big ass Crown Victoria big fan of this thing let me tell you I can't see crap I can't even see some of you might be very excited like we are to hear that at sick week I think a third or fourth largest class here is stiction and there's a lot of badassic shift cars I believe we're in the class and there's one right here it's a C6 Corvette it's a good buddy of ours named Chad we're going to talk to him see what he's done he can put up quite the number earlier hi Fred how's it going it's going good so you put up what a seven six yesterday 767 and then today it's spun I pedaled it and went eight oh and I I wanted to run sevens at every track I should do the smart thing and load this up and head but you're you're still sitting but here I am contemplating uh I'm probably gonna run again I just I want to run a seven at every track is that to go I mean the goal I'd be happy with an average of a seven right but I truly wanted to be seventh at every track so I guess I gotta try like there you go we're in Florida it's sunny it's cold back home it's reliable right it's reliable yeah wait have you won stick shift at a dragon Drive once twice at race week 2.0 but okay that's what it was that was and there's that's the other thing too is I don't know being first day I don't know who's in station isn't there 26 or 27 stick shift cars I heard like 25 or 26. that's crazy yeah that's crazy so you have quite the competition so you kind of need to stay and do that seven trickle on out getting their stuff hooked up putting their stuff in Street drinking and making their way to great now if you guys haven't watched these Dragon drives you don't know how they work each competitor has to go to each track race and then drive from tractor track now they can't just plug the address for the next track into Google and go they have to follow a certain specific route which miles could be way more they could be way slower than going on the highway it could be a lot of different things and there's checkpoints along the way you have to take pictures so we got on the road later we'll show you all that stuff but that's what all of these Racers have to do every last one of them is to stop at each checkpoint take a picture make sure they get to the next track and then race the next day and do that five days in a row all right the little tea buckets back up here he puked oil on the starting line earlier they got that fixed 11 18 115 miles an hour for that little Ford all right here comes the LT swap Tahoe from killer performance foreign foreign like it's got new truck stuff looking on it but it's Ariel I I just need another rundown yeah what am I looking at here uh I originally got the body uh it was a running truck it was a 1951 Ford F3 um saw it on Craigslist I was stationed in Colorado uh sent the guy a message and uh you know got the truck you know week or two and started tinkering with it original engine was the Flathead six it was the tractor engine it was it was a good engine it was faster falling out of a tree going down the road is on a Crown Vic chassis got the t-56 trans I was like man I need the engine to hurt it and so this 5-4 lightning motor was on eBay I hit the guys like hey you take 1500 he comes back 1850 I was like I'm gonna do a cleanest on him I said will you take 1776 for that engine behold man okay so we have a 51 Ford 51 Ford 51 Ford on a Crown Vic chassis 2005 Crown Vic and we got a 2001 Ford Lightning uh t-56 2003 Cobra and uh if you're zealous enough and and you figure out where I got my heat exchanger for my intercooler it's a 97 Honda Civic so I you know we're gonna we're gonna go into the elevens um you know this is this is a this truck gets its work done in the front half of the house so okay I'm in the d-class I can only go 11-5 so I just want to be ruthlessly consistent man I mean not to sound like The Blues Brothers but it's got cop breaks cup suspension you know and uh cop shocks so that Crown Vic chassis it it goes well I had to I saw it roll past me I was like okay the shocks are on the outside of the frame rails in the back so I was like what's going on here I see the engine up front Super Tires like I gotta talk to this guy absolutely good luck what do you call this thing uh oh that wants to come and make a pass get in the lanes and you can make a pass it looks like just about every racer wants to make a pass so a couple cars in the lanes I wanted to highlight real quick this Integra this looks it looks like a nice Integra race car and it looks like a strictly a race car so I'm going to talk to him real quick see what his game plan is for the week what's going on man what's up how are you good so this is like the most nice nice-ish well race car I've seen on a dragon Drive well nicest is kind of uh you know if you're looking at it from a 10-footer stance right that's a nice dish okay what's what's the setup on on the Integrity here let me show you real quick so this is still the traditional Honda B series that came in an Integra okay um now this model wasn't VTEC from the factory but we did VTEC conversion on it uh considered an LS VTEC and um that along with a few forged parts and some seven millimeter turbo gets us this after some Blood Sweat and Tears it actually looks really nice yeah it's not bad it's a V8 C top end so that LSB Tech it makes about 850 all the way on full Boost we're turned down maybe around 600 right now just around 10-0 more reliable yeah you know got about a thousand miles to put onto it so right I guess we could survive have you done a dragon drive before so actually this is both mine and my buddy Shane's first Dragon Drive welcome to Dragon Drive thank you you guys are gonna have a lot of fun what's your goal for the week uh survive and go close to 10-0 you know there's no best answer a newbie can give me because we yesterday we left soft had a little tire Shake today we got a little greedy broke both axles on the first pass we both are both at the same time I brought two spare axles one for each side we just got it switched in and right back in the lane so uh we're gonna launch a little softer not be so greedy and that word right there survive there you go survive that's the game along the way we need RSX 36 millimeter axle that's right okay okay okay for Spears because now we're out of Spears and just the first thing all right so it sounds like even though this is both of their first dragon drives they're already getting their feet wet by having to redo both axles after the first pass so hopefully they can go up there make a nice clean pass not break anything hopefully close to a 10-0 pack up get out of here head to Bradenton and it falls silent oh no oh man thank you all right the defending Champions reads and the C4 Corvette just put up a 6.55 though that's good that's still not as quick as Tom Bailey foreign so this poor gentleman over here was leaving the track this is day one leaving the track witty you gotta explain this leaving the track being a nice gentleman witty telling the story you get the picture he drives by slowly and we're good this probably wanted to give her a little more and try doing a burnout the tires did not spin I think some other things were spinning and then it smelled like clutch and now the car is not working you broke the car I did not I did not tell them to do it if they don't make it I'm blaming I'm putting this on you I'm not gonna unfortunately Royce did not get up here in the very first 30 minutes of the day so the Slick Tire cars go with everybody else so he basically has a one-time shot to go up there make a pass and get a good time and turn into slit because he's only going to get this one shot so if he bogs up the line doesn't get a good launch the car dies it's not a good not not good for him so he needs he needs a slip and hopefully something with a good time on foreign foreign foreign Tom said he really wanted to take this to the next level and for this only being our second year Tom how was your day one at your own event how was today what was your passive 1352 at 108 miles 624 or something like we only ran it on six cylinders so like oh just chasing the injector either injector Electronics if you don't know so we're gonna we're gonna try and change some stuff up for tomorrow with some different stuff but we tried a couple things here and couldn't sort it out so it's like okay we just need to pack up and go we're gonna make a better run probably be worse and it should probably break parts lucky didn't break 624 is not bad though that still picture is that second overall right now okay yeah but it's not what we wanted here what I want to do it doesn't have anything to do with everybody else it has to do with me but at the top end of the race track so yeah so it's wow it's pretty tough for me to take that so we're going there roll on so but we're gonna see a five out of work we'll see you're gonna see a five or something else out of it but all right not sure what's going to be either either a five or a Pistons coming out or something well right now setting passes over unless somebody comes up there ruins your day look up the trailer we'll see in Bradenton cool sounds good man five on a race week that car is definitely capable of doing fives that's the car he did a five in in 2019 at drag week so we'll see some we'll see some good times out of that if you notice 6 24 he's fastest overall he's still not happy with it so he's got goals that are way bigger than just low sixes so we'll see we can do this week seeing this thing roll down the road is crazy because it's literally 4 000 horsepower Pro Mod but ridiculous car Tom's awesome and he put this whole event on he started sick week and just from a lot of experience of doing Dragon drives knowing what the racers want knowing what event needs he got it figured out Tom's going to hook up his trailer head Brayton and we will be shortly behind him thank you that's his first night foreign I wish you could know the emotions that just went through my head so that was like so stressful and when I went down the track all that I could think about was Schroeder because he's like one of our best friends yeah and I my car started drifting left and it caused me a lift I lifted and I was like No And I got back in it and I like I was like man that was fast and only one of my sheets deployed so I was like that's why I felt fast and then Steve Morris was down there and he goes 690 something I'm like oh my gosh that's such a relief it's been a it's been a year trying to get yeah it's been a while you said you're only going to do a 720 or 7 30 and then you did a six now you just got to keep this this is cool this is a trend now we got now you have to do sixes the rest of the way okay that's the goal all right deal thank you see you tomorrow they are making it rain sixes here in the second session Alex just got a 696 I believe Bryant Goldstein and Steve Morris did both did 694s the swedes it is 6.55 making it rain sixes out here all right guys racing here at day one of sick week at Orlando speed world is coming to an end but this is only part of the day everybody did their passes turned in their slips and now they have to make the drive to Bradenton it's about a three hour drive there's a route you specifically have to take you have to go to checkpoints a long way to take pictures so we're gonna get on the road catch up with some Racers see some Carnage and head to Bradington that's unfortunate your car's broken all right we made it to our first of two checkpoints today it's 150 miles from Orlando Speed World to Bradenton on the route that we're taking so I'm gonna go around the uh the area here we're at this Marina big parking lot a lot of a lot of room for all the cars now part of stopping at the checkpoint everybody has to take a picture in front of the checkpoint to prove that they were there so all these cars are stopping in front of the big sign and then they post them on social media they show the crew once they get to the next track proves that they actually took the route how's life in the air-cooled Beetle so far temps have been a struggle um we got an oil cooler set up and here we kind of been playing with modifying airflow and stuff through it we're actually about to pop the pop-out windows on the side oh that'll improve airflow into the NACA Ducks got the fan situation sorted out so driving over here is team effort Lester was driving handling the traffic and uh which sucked and I was basically watching the oil temp gauge and just kind of keeping an eye on it every time we'd slow down the temps would back off at highway speeds they were kind of creeping up but I think we're okay now this car was finished on Saturday night at 10 o'clock it literally had two maybe three miles on it okay all together before going on the trailer and coming here so this is a theme I've heard from a lot of guys like oh yeah we've got 20 miles on it it's like this guy right here has busted his ass for 12 months I mean I did some of the wiring the year ago it was nothing they built this car in a year yeah well I like what you did we all do because I first of all you don't see air-cooled Volkswagens with carbon fiber on them you just don't and then the huge dirt we love the turbos yeah yeah we like the car boys do you guys see the truck that witty broke is right there I didn't break anything I didn't do that hey you know what the best part is Woody not only did you ruin their week huh they're from Canada they're from Quebec Canada you ruined their international trip the thing is I was pointing my camera this way they rolled into the shot and started doing everything on their own and I didn't even get a picture because that wasn't why did you yell at them do a burnout do a burnout do burnout yeah was that before or after you threatened his whole family I don't think we can put that in the video dude all right guys we've hung out for a few minutes 30 45 minutes caught up with some Racers saw some cars now we're back on the road to head to checkpoint number two no no no no no no no no no no no no I'm allowed to be here what do you think it's not the Honda it's not what you think I ran out of gas it's been I ran out again don't you have a tote or something I know but we tried stretching it okay so that's it that's it was kind of getting hot but I think it was just a fluke it's probably air pocket you sure it didn't overheat and stop running I'm pretty sure it won't start now because it's out of gas I mean we can look down the abyss I mean there ain't nothing down there you guys got somebody coming with gas oh he's got gas oh you got gas oh yeah he just hurry up that's what I said dude this guy's cold I'm cold I don't want to be out here man let's do this come on he just wanted to show his lights off he knew you he knew you'd pull he's got underglow on the car underglow on the trailer he knew you'd pull over and he goes watch this yo you got any more Girl Scout cookies man all right the turtle started it kind of topped off on water and fuel we're back on the road go to the second checkpoint all right guys we have made it to the second and final checkpoint on day one of sick week this year it is Woody's River Roux they have to take a picture with I'm guessing it's a bar or restaurant or something like that so normally these checkpoints are in place everybody can park hang out chill that type of stuff but they put on the thing that the that the lot is pretty small so people are just rolling in taking pictures and rolling right back out there's only a few more miles left on the route to get to Bradington so as soon as we're done here we're probably just gonna plug in the GPS to the hotel and head there and then go to the tracks tomorrow we're gonna see who rolls in for the next few minutes we got the six second rats here wagons here Mustang the RX-8 made it how's the drive so far going good yeah no no troubles nothing nope not nice very nice very nice yep head to the hotel you bet we'll see you guys in the morning thank you I always love checking in with first timers because they're always really excited and they're it's just they're taking it on for the first time and it's awesome dragon drives are so much fun we got a little bit of a late start on the drive today probably three and a half hours later than we really wanted to get on the road but everybody had to do that so everybody's here rolling through and going to the hotel right away it's like 11 15 at night which is pretty late to be on doing these Dragon drives but uh seems like everybody's doing okay nobody's like broken down at this one which sometimes they stop here and fix their stuff nobody so far nobody
