Time for 8K? Ask Me #023

**Periscope: A Live Streaming App**

I wanted to talk about Periscope, a live streaming app that connects with Twitter. I've been doing a lot of these streams and have been out here in LA for the last few days. It's a really cool thing, and it reminds me kind of like vlogging.

**How Periscope Works**

The way it works is if you watch the stream live, obviously, you get to check it out and comment on that kind of stuff. But if you watch it later, you've got 24 hours to see the replay on Periscope. So even if you're a little bit late or you want to check out the stream after it's over, you can still do so.

**Why I Like Periscope**

I don't know, but I get this vibe that I don't think I would ever start like a vlog channel or anything like that. But Periscope is different; it's so easy! Just pull out my phone, shoot like a quick little live stream, and people can watch it. So I don't know, I'm a big fan of Periscope.

**If You Want to Follow Me**

If you guys want to follow me on Periscope, the link will be in the description, same as Twitter and Facebook and that kind of stuff.

**Equipment for Video Editing**

Now, editing videos... What's the piece of equipment or software that saves me the most time? For me, it's definitely the camera. I use a Canon C100, which is an expensive camera, but there are a lot of features about this camera that just make my life a lot easier.

**Why I Choose the C100**

For example, when I'm talking to you guys right now, I have a mic right above me, and it just goes straight into the camera. So I don't have to go and sync two microphones or use extra recorders all over the place. There are a lot of features like this on the C100 that make my life easier.

**Why I Haven't Gone 4K**

This is actually part of the reason why I haven't gone to 4K; the file sizes on this camera are tiny, so I can edit it on anything. When you get 4K footage, it becomes a lot more of a pain to edit and upload.

**Will My MacBook Handle Final Cut Pro?**

Now, even though the MacBook has a Core M CPU, do you think it'll handle Final Cut Pro 10? Yeah, I think it will. I mean, I haven't tried it yet, but...

**How Does My MacBook Perform?**

The thing is, with the new MacBook, yes, it's very low-powered; it's like a 5-watt CPU, and there's no fan. On paper, it looks really underpowered, but the thing is, it's actually not that bad.

**My Motivation for Making YouTube Videos**

What motivates me to make a YouTube video almost every week? I've been doing YouTube since I was 16, which is a huge chunk of my life... And so at this point, I can't even remember what like my life was like before YouTube.

**No Motivation Needed**

I don't think there's been a single day in the last six years where I haven't thought about YouTube. It's just how I do things right now; I don't need motivation to go eat or sleep or whatever, so I don't need motivation to make YouTube videos.

**If You Have Questions, Ask!**

If you guys have any more questions, feel free to hit me up on Twitter and Facebook. And of course, those links will be in the description of this video...
