The Compound Experience: A Weekend of Off-Road Adventures and Laughter

As we stepped onto the LZ compound, the excitement was palpable. The air was electric with the promise of adventure and camaraderie. Our group consisted of a diverse crew, each with their own unique personality and quirks. There was Sean, behind the wheel of his brother's car; Cody from BC Racing, sporting a enthusiasm for concrete and sponsorship deals; and Adam himself, the mastermind behind the LZ compound. We also had a special guest, Tommy, who would be shipping one of the RTR Mustangs to join our adventure. As we gathered around Adam, he briefed us on the plan: "We got jokester over here, we got sean driving his brother's car, we got me and then we got a wild chelsea with a wild rtr mustang there might be a little bit more to uh the story behind this but stoked to get some compound laps together."

Drifting and Muffler Madness

mile and i'm gonna tell you to beat the crap out of it we're gonna have much fun we are trying to take this thing to a car show tomorrow and i have no self-control so jimmy's gonna clean it up a ford boy how dare you say that all right so it's it's clean enough to uh beat on gate pressure so we we didn't realize that first we were tuning in with a little bit of duty and yo this thing oh yeah it was not it was moving and then we were like oh he's probably zero the duty cycle now like it's linear but it's good yeah this thing this now it sounds like a 2j it does got a very different sound to it a little raspy i know the titanium tends to do that i really really want to plumb the gates back into the exhaust we just didn't have time to do that classy doesn't it yeah we'll do a one we'll do a one two three after i can turn around up here this thing's cool thanks jim yeah this thing's really good i can drive the car and go to boost love that for love that love that jimmy is going to drive this lambdas 15 we're gonna be a little stance together sir what do i film good all right a little one two three actually yeah sounds interesting it does it pulls yeah it's very linear which is kind of what i wanted with the setup because it's good for traction i mean we didn't spin first gear that which is dope and we've got hecka camber with a 235 love it yeah just my style no this thing's really good and this is just on gate so like we know it's got some whatever it makes is it's gonna make more so i bet right now and it's current set up i bet it's making like low fours i was gonna say mid to high fours but very low torque for sure for sure yeah but like i bet at redline like you can feel it just like starts like you know love it the cams don't feel as aggressive as i thought they were no interesting same thing why is the heat on because we're we're cold stop it toyota all right well have fun with it for the record that's only nine pounds of boost and she's gone in nine pounds wow it's so fast the turbo's like not even like anywhere near its efficiency right now not at all it's pissed they want something it wants to you know give me more can we have a little more so i love how it sounds until the gates open like just revving it doesn't it sound so much cooler yeah for sure it'll sound classy once you circuit but uh lz made me turn the boost up because he said nine pounds was for yeah so we're up to 16. but listen listen without the gates how good it sounds it just like with the gates open it kind of just reminds me of like the drift car it gets messy i don't know like sometimes chaotic i think this manifold which by the way i didn't talk much about it it's rtxt4 cast manifold so that's brad yeah um but i don't i'm just not a big fan of external gates it's designed to be really easy to research into the exhaust so that's good but just the i think the tone it's it's also a twin scroll so maybe that has something to do with it because you can hear maybe the different pulses oh yeah either way it sounds sick we'll research it no song clean everyone's happy car's fast super cool love that love that it sounded so cool dude this is the hottest car ever he can out over the spec ass cool oe options we've got a blue interior some cool oe aero stuff this wing you've never seen oh tvs zloe pods in the front spec ass but this thing's super rad big mustang guy shopping come on time to go to the chaser i'm going your car's the other way oh my car's way over there that was sick yo flying by bye i think drift hq needs to get your boy a new turbo garrett's in stock come find us all right got the chaser all set up on the dyno we're going to do quick baseline with the jimmy o'tune see what it's making 15 16 pounds any bets i'm guessing i'm guessing it's gonna make around 400 foot pounds of torque probably a little bit less than that yeah but i think it's close to 500 wheel maybe like 480 483 i'm gonna say for 455 horsepower let's see it send her home oh what do you think it's gonna make 16 pounds um hurry up 480. oh i didn't hit stop that's why yo i guess 483 483 they're pretty damn close pretty and 480. yeah that was a good guess adam 383 torque and 484 horsepower and that's basically because the turbo is just not losing efficiency and still just going crazy dude my butt dino has been real good lately that's sick though the fact that it's only making 383 is so safe no i know especially for the trans i i want this thing to make 500 foot pounds of torque which i know is super safer yeah wait 500 pounds of torque in a stock our ones before 600's usually 600 foot pounds of torque is usually where they start you take that much so if we make 500 foot pounds of torque and carry that over the red line yes sir i think that's going to be over 700 wheels love that so uh peak torque is at six grand love to see it yeah that's it loves this turbo yeah no it's sick and if you look at it too we don't need to even hook up the tack sensor because it's doing fine off derived rpm yeah so we're doing off of wheel speed versus tack signal stuff wow what a curve so linear what a good turbo yeah i'm pumped with a guest let's call it marsh but the torque we made good mid-range torque this time and it just slowly fell off so nice beautiful looking curve all right jamie turned the boost up about to hear this thing sing uh he's just kind of cleaning up timing and everything my goal like i said before is just making like 500 foot pounds of torque everywhere i think it's gonna rip uh i'm really happy we're gonna raise the regular a little bit so it will sink a little bit more um i'm stoked though this thing's gonna be a river so unfortunately passing 600 horsepower this thing is starting to run on a fuel pump i'm leaning on believing that it is a mechanical issue whether it's a voltage drop or something going on with a line sizing maybe being too small or a leak internally in the tank but we're gonna have to turn it down turn down the revlon a little bit still making another 120 foot pounds than it was on the street but to keep it safe we're gonna turn it down a little bit keep it clean and then we'll dive into the fuel pump and figure out what's going on next week and then we'll turn this thing up to look forward to yeah stages right no that is a good point it is good like i had a lot of fun with the car with 380 pounds of torque now it's gonna have almost 500 and then you're gonna get sick of that yep and then you're gonna get more power you get sick of that you're gonna throw your stroke motor in and get sick of that then you're gonna build it block yep stroker motor nitrous on top with two turbos okay series yeah all right so this is where we're chilling for now not bad although a bit a ways away from what my goal was uh the great thing is there's pretty much no mechanical issues apart from that fuel pump and compared to how we had it on the street it is tuned is making a butt ton more torque a button more power and it still should be fun fast and very safe so i'm gonna take this thing off the dyno then we're gonna go do a couple street pulls and then we're actually gonna do some drifting around the compound today it's a good saturday your super sounds like a chaser my chaser sounds like a good time is your car running sir what and you better go chase it i'm excited to drive this thing i'm hyped so uh it has 120 more horsepower than because yeah no i know it's 100 horsepower there's 100 more horsepower but it hits i don't remember i think it makes them okay yeah this actually feels faster definitely feels faster but dino says good spicy spicy what's funny is it almost feels identical to the 1j setup like with like a little bit more na power just because we had it so like we basically reached the limits of the fuel pump both times you know interesting but it comes in harder surprisingly bigger engine bigger turbo oh baby all right definitely feels better now definitely feels better so it just blew the tires off one two so it's probably that fast but like once you get the higher rpms and it starts hooking choo-choo baby it's a freight train coming yeah i see this fan clap on the ground oh we lost the v-band we're not getting that back either nope oh no the titanium johan's gonna be pissed sorry johan all right his camera just died wait you need to film this and then send me the clip oh man oh it's so sad oh that poor feedback dude it looks like though it didn't do that much damage if i'm being honest yeah it sucks when you chuck a v-band because it happens all the time and like yo at least though the the muffler you know it's sick too that we could just take the muffler off and go home no i know i'm just gonna slide it out we don't gotta tie it all up hot though tip is okay all right so it's bolted of course you can't just slip it off the hanger i mean i don't it doesn't feel like it wants to do that it's kind of hot all right so we can just pull it off karate kicked that thing right off this thing i said johanna seems so upset gonna be a no han you get it so i don't think i don't think this thing moves at all dude no i think you're good i think that's the best case but i'm saying i don't think it moved at all as in it's not gonna move anymore yeah damn come on down by yourself an lz lanyard can come in handy they're tied up so unfortunately the hanger's actually bolted to the muffler in the chassis and we have no tools so you think that will stay i love that you think it'll stay this might help would an apple help what an apple i'll kill you we had a 10 mil in the car luckily sean forgot to tighten your exhaust so the tip how's the tip uh tip is good a little scratch yeah it comes with the territory no it's just white
