2025 Cadillac Optiq – Smart Style, Range, and a Decent Starting Price

The Cadillac Optic: A Smart Proposition for Luxury EV Buyers

A new luxury electric vehicle (EV) has entered the market, and it's poised to deliver on its promises of range, performance, and style. The Cadillac Optic is designed to appeal to car shoppers looking for a smart proposition, and based on the specs and asking price, it looks like a strong contender in the EV segment.

The Optic keeps things simple with respect to powertrain, featuring just one setup that delivers impressive results. This all-wheel drive configuration is powered by two electric motors that produce a total system output of 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. While the larger Lyric model has garnered attention, it's the Optic that could prove to be the strong seller for EV buyers.

Cadillac targets a driving range of 300 miles for this model, which seems to be the magic number in the minds of many first-time EV buyers. However, the better magic number is getting up to 79 miles on a DC Fast Charger in just 10 minutes, and even more impressive estimates are possible with the right trim and options. The Optic is putting the Ultium platform to good use across both its trims, dubbed Luxury and Sport, allowing shoppers to opt for more flashy Chrome accents or keep it subtle with blacked-out trim.

While the Lyric model does have a sleeker design, the Optic has managed to shrink the wheelbase by 6 inches without sacrificing strength. The shoulder line is also impressive, and the lack of unnecessary styling elements in the wheel wells is appreciated. The base wheel size starts at 20 inches, with the option to upgrade to 21s, but it's likely that shoppers will stick with the smaller wheels for the optimal range estimate.

One of the standout features inside the Optic is the massive 33-inch LED display, which boasts a resolution of 9k. This impressive screen is certainly nicer than many home TVs, and it's an exciting party trick for any luxury vehicle buyer. However, one thing that does stand out as a concern in terms of pricing is the subscription-based model for Super Cruise. While this feature is free for three years, it becomes a paid service after that, which may be frustrating for some buyers.

The Optic starts at an estimated $54,000 including destination, which is a remarkable starting point for a fully electric luxury crossover. When compared to other vehicles in the same segment, the Optic's pricing is indeed competitive and even impressive.

trim Cadillac keeps the outside stylish but I do think the lyric looks slightly better this optic is as if you smooshed the lyric a bit to shrink the wheelbase and it is a 6-in shorter wheelbase but the shoulder line is strong and I also appreciate them not stuffing 24s or something unnecessary into the wheel wells the base wheel is a 20 well you can opt for 21s but I bet you that the max range estimate happens on the smaller Wheels hopefully you can stick with the 20s regardless of the trims and options you select as for standard features Cadillac gives the optic all of the Safety Systems which is nice and if you're a fan of quality sounding music I think you'll appreciate that the standard audio system is a 19 speaker AKG setup with Dolby Atmos the big party trick inside is of course that massive 33in LED display which Cadillac says has a resolution of 9k so you know nicer than your TV at home the real actual party trick here however is the starting price Cadillac says the optic will start at an estimated $54,000 including destination in this day and age of nearly $50,000 average new car transaction prices that's a heck of a great starting point for a fully electric luxury crossover the lyric is priced equally as well too since it starts in the upper $50,000 range and breaks into the low 60s depending on trim granted that starting price on the lyric is for the lower powered version but over on the optic the standard all-wheel drive 300 horsepower powertrain makes it all that much better for Shoppers it's not cheap but priced relative to the segment in which it competes it's priced really well the only thing I don't like as it pertains to prices that super super cruise is free for 3 years but after that it becomes a subscription based service I hate this practice of billing for features down the road it's quickly become or becoming the norm and it's incredibly frustrating if I buy a car with something it should just have that's something maybe this is all a sign I'm just getting older either way my mini rant is over I like the optic and I look forward to testing one out in the near future na luxury Eevee Crossover with good range and a strong
