1 Year on YouTube as the Data Professor (Data Science YouTube Channel)

Creating a YouTube Channel: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Growth

As I sit down to record my first YouTube video, I must admit that it's a bit daunting. Talking to a camera is not something I'm comfortable with, but I've decided to take the leap and create a channel centered around data science. My daughter was the one who suggested this idea, and at first, it felt a bit strange. However, as I begin to record my video, I realize that it's becoming less scary by the minute.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to my wife for allowing me to pursue this passion project. It's not always easy to balance work and personal life, but she's been incredibly supportive of my endeavors. Creating a YouTube channel is a significant undertaking, requiring a lot of time and effort. From preparing content to editing videos, marketing them online, responding to comments, and more, it's an enormous task. But with her support, I know that this journey will be worth it.

Of course, I couldn't have done this without the love and encouragement of my family. My dad, mom, brother, sister, and friends have all been instrumental in this journey. They've listened to me ramble on about my YouTube channel, offered valuable advice, and provided a much-needed sounding board for my ideas. Their support means the world to me, and I'm grateful to have them by my side.

As I continue to navigate the world of data science, I'm constantly inspired by the work of fellow YouTubers in this field. Collaborations with other creators, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other's experiences are some of the most rewarding aspects of being part of a community like this. Specifically, I'd like to thank Kenji for creating an incredible data science community where we can share ideas, collaborate, and support one another.

I'm also grateful for the collaboration with fellow YouTubers who have joined forces to create high-quality content. Some notable mentions include Grace Dyke Davao from Code Basics, Daniel Borg, Jaymin from Import Data, Rachel Tina Juan, Forrest Night, and Big Youtubers like many more who contribute to our community.

Of course, I couldn't do this without the support of my wonderful subscribers. To those who have been with me from the very beginning and continue to provide feedback, suggestions, and encouragement, I'm truly thankful. Your input has been invaluable in shaping the direction of my channel. Early subscribers like Jasper, Muhammad Faisan, Malik, Marco, Mo Ali, and many others have all provided suggestions that have helped shape the content I create.

From upgrading my microphone to exploring new ways to improve production quality, I'm constantly looking for ways to enhance the viewing experience. My current setup features a Youtuber-friendly microphone – specifically, the Blue Yeti – which has proven to be an excellent tool in capturing high-quality audio. As I continue to learn and grow as a content creator, I look forward to experimenting with new equipment and techniques.

For those interested in learning more about data science, I'm committed to creating content that's informative, engaging, and easy to follow. From tutorial videos on exploratory data analysis using R and Python to showcasing the capabilities of popular libraries like pandas UI, Streamlit, and Pi Carat, I'll be covering a range of topics.

To help shape the future direction of my channel, I'd love to hear from you! What type of content would you like to see? Are there specific topics or formats that interest you? Let me know in the comments below. Your feedback is invaluable, and I'll do my best to create content that resonates with you.

In conclusion, creating a YouTube channel has been an incredible journey of self-discovery and growth. With the support of loved ones, fellow creators, and subscribers like you, I'm excited to see where this journey takes me. As always, the best way to learn data science is to do it – and I hope that my channel will inspire and educate you along the way.

Before we go, I'd love for you to hit that like button, subscribe if you haven't already done so, and turn on the notification bell. This ensures you'll be the first to know whenever a new video drops. And finally, please feel free to share this content with others who might be interested in learning more about data science.

That's all for now, folks! Until next time, stay curious, keep learning, and happy coding!

channel so yesterday on august 21st 2020 the data professor youtube channel has just reached its one year anniversary so it's hard to believe that one year has already passed since uploading the first video and as you can see here the how a biologist became a data scientist video was released on august 21st and in that video i shared some of the experiences that i have gone through in transitioning from being a biologist to becoming a data scientist and i also provided some general overview of what this channel has to offer so the two main contents that the channel has is contents on data science concepts where i provide you an overview of the general workflow the general best practices of performing data mining data science model building and aside from making a talking head video on youtube i also have experimented with writing on the medium platform so a big shout out to kenji a fellow youtuber in data science and also a good friend of mine who suggested that i repurpose some of the videos that i have on youtube and write a medium article about it so i have taken up that advice and so far i have released about 11 articles so if you're into data science articles and you read or subscribe to medium then please check out kenji's medium profile and also my own medium profile where we provide our experiences share some of our viewpoints and tutorials in data science so the links to the medium profile of myself and of kenji is provided in the description of this video so this youtube channel wouldn't have been where it is today without the support of all of you guys you know who you are and there are many of you so the first shout out goes to my daughter who suggested that i create a youtube channel and so at first it was a bit of a challenging idea because it's kind of weird talking to a video camera and so this is my 101 video and i guess it's becoming less scary and but still i'm a bit of a camera shy person so the second shout out goes to my wife who allows me time to create this channel because the time and effort to create and maintain a youtube channel it's very immense considering that there are times where we have to prepare content for the video edit the video shoot the video market the video reply to comments on the video and etc so this is a very big endeavor and so without the support of friends or family this wouldn't have been possible so the third shout out goes to my dad my mom my brother my sister and all of my friends and family for their support their encouragement their opinions and just for hearing me ramble about my own youtube journey and so the next shout out goes to fellow youtubers in data science so this wouldn't have been possible without the collaborations without the ideas without the support and just the sense of knowing that there is someone else who shares similar journey share similar passion in data science and a huge chunk of the progress of this channel can be attributed to a good friend of mine and fellow youtuber in data science kenji where he created this data science community where he invited other data scientists other youtubers in data science and some of those youtubers include grace dyke davao from code basics daniel borg jaymin from import data rachel tina juan and also big youtubers like forrest night and so i'm very grateful for the data science community that kenji has created and all of which has made this data science youtuber journey surreal it just feels like a dream and i really appreciate all of what is happening and most importantly of all the big shout out goes to all of you guys and gals the subscribers so without the support of all of you this channel wouldn't have been here and i greatly appreciate the early subscribers for suggesting some of the ideas for videos for providing some advice on how to improve this channel and so over the course of the one year journey i have also upgraded my microphone and so i was first starting out with the built-in microphone of the camera that i bought and used here and then i upgraded to this microphone so this is a youtuber friendly microphone and so based on my research this blue yeti microphone is the most popular microphone used by youtubers and so this is the gear that i've upgraded to and so i will continue to upgrade the gears of this youtube channel and also i'm trying to learn about how to upgrade the production quality of the videos as well and so a specific shout out to the early subscribers and this include jasper who provided some useful ideas on how i can be consistent on this youtube channel another shout out to muhammad faisan for providing suggestion that i create some bioinformatics tutorial videos shout out to my friend and early subscribers malik for providing feedback and for providing some marketing help during the initial phase of this youtube channel other early subscribers include marco for providing suggestion that i create some videos about exploratory data analysis which i have done in r and in python and shout out to all of the subscribers of the channel who provided ideas on several of the videos that i have created and this included the pandas ui streamlit which is becoming quite popular on my youtube channel and finally mo is ali for creating the awesome pi carat machine learning library which i love to use because it is very intuitive it allows me to provision my ideas in a short amount of time and so i'm planning on creating more additional tutorial videos on this channel using the pi caret package and finally i would like to hear from you what type of content topic ideas tutorial formats or video formats that you would like to see on this youtube channel please provide your comments down below and whichever idea that you like from the other subscribers please like so that i will see which one is the most popular and according to that i will be ranking them and considering them for the future videos of this youtube channel so the future video of this youtube channel will be data driven because we are in the data science community and so we'll be using all of your feedbacks your comments in order to drive further contents of this youtube channel please show your support for this video hit the like button subscribe if you haven't yet done so and hit on the notification bell in order to be notified of the next
