My Alfa Romeo 4C Experience: A Comprehensive Review of Costs and Upgrades
I recently had the pleasure of owning an Alfa Romeo 4C, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The car exceeded my expectations in every way, from its sleek design to its exceptional performance. One of the highlights of my ownership was when I took the car to a reputable mechanic who quoted me a fair price for repairs. They completed the job within two days, and the results were outstanding. The cars returned with an immaculate finish, and everything seemed fine. There were no issues, and they even fixed a smelly air conditioning unit that had been plagued by an egg-like smell. I was impressed by their professionalism and commitment to getting it right.
During my inspection of the car, I noticed that my rear tires were relatively low, and I asked the mechanic how much it would cost to replace them in the next couple of months. They quoted me £450 for two new rear tires, which I found reasonable considering the price of having a dealer fit four new tires, which I estimated could have cost around £500 or more. As someone who values their car, I was pleased with the quote and felt comfortable paying the additional amount.
In addition to the tire replacement, there were a few cosmetic changes that I wanted to make to my car. Firstly, I wanted to protect the paintwork from scratches and chips. To achieve this, I applied paint protection film to the front half of the car, specifically from the wing mirrors forward. This was done using a high-quality vinyl that is barely visible to the naked eye. The cost for this upgrade was £1,500 at Elite Detailing in London, which I found to be well worth the investment given how often I drive the car.
Another cosmetic change I made was to replace the wheels with gold ones, which had been a feature of both my old 430 Scuderia and new Ferrari 458 Speciale. I chose this upgrade because it not only added a touch of luxury but also paid homage to my love for classic Alfa Romeo designs. The wheels were done by Posh Wash in London, and the quote was around £65 per wheel. I was thrilled with the result and felt that it gave the car an extra layer of sophistication.
Lastly, I decided to add a black stripe to the car's design, which was done using a vinyl wrap by Sierra in London. This upgrade aimed to reflect the carbon fiber sales used on other Alfa Romeo models like the 430 Scuderia and Ferrari F40 Special Edition. While it may have been an unusual choice, I loved the result and felt that it added a touch of elegance to the car.
Overall, my experience with the Alfa Romeo 4C was nothing short of fantastic. From its exceptional performance to its stunning design, this car exceeded all my expectations. Whether you're considering purchasing one or already own one like me, I hope that my review has provided some valuable insights into the costs and upgrades that may be required to keep your vehicle in top condition.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello one a no welcome to seeing through glass so my Alfa Romeo 4c has just been in for its first service so I thought now would be a good time to sit down and talk you through some of the running cost that you could expect to incur if you were to buy one of these cars okay had enough blue two shots of my own car let's get into this so we are going to have a look at the running cost and that is going to include price tags insurance petrol also consumables servicing tires and cosmetics so I guess let's take it right back to the beginning with price because I'm guessing that some of you guys might not be sure how much a Alfa Romeo 4c launch edition cost I say cost because you can't actually go and buy a launch edition these days it was a limited run 500 cars the Alfa Romeo basically announced out of the blue so they went we're going to build the 4c start to take deposit and orders for the 4c and then Sunday when actually we're gonna make a launch edition as well and all that work and they decided to introduce the launch edition and start the whole process again so I'm going to put their name down for the 14 and had to reapply for the launch edition but because there were only 500 cars people got confused and basically a whole lot of people got screwed over and alfa romeo were like yeah but what happened was that the Alfa Romeo 4c launch edition was announced at 52 thousand pounds and it was supposed to be like 8,000 pounds premium over the standard 4c however I on the website today and if you were to order a standard for see today in the UK it would cost you fifty one and a half thousand pounds so that premium it's like I mean 500 pound premium and you get like a completely bespoke suspension package you get carbon fiber everywhere you get a different air cleaner you get additional air intakes like no get a bargain one other thing I'd like to point out is that at fifty two thousand pounds it's a hundred thousand pounds cheaper than the Alfa Romeo 8c that everybody watched my videos comments and said I should have bought instead one hundred thousand pounds if you've got a hundred thousand pounds that I can borrow to buy an eight-seat I don't so as I say whilst you can't buy the launch edition new anymore you can buy the standard foresee or you can go onto the use market where there are some launch editions floating around in the UK they tend to range the launch editions between about fifty and fifty five thousand pounds depending on mileage and Tilo etc etc and I think that equates to about eighty five thousand dollars and I guess once you bought the car that's what you look to do the next thing on your kind of agenda is things like tax and insurance so because this car is only a one point seven liter the tax basically you pay a hundred eighty pounds in the UK for twelve months both tax 180 pounds and when I spend more than the food shop each week I think my last car which is a 2010 Audi TTS usually cost like four hundred pounds to tax I think it was expensive as hell I've had cars that have cost me like four hundred pounds or five hundred pounds a year tax this is 180 I don't even notice it I mean this I mean I do notice it's a lot of money so you do not have to worry about road tax in the UK in terms of it being a stupidly high bill insurance is a bit different insurance is obviously completely unique to everyone because it depends on what your job is how you're using the car where you live where you park the car but what I can give you advice on in terms of my experience is that the 4c was maybe about two or three hundred pounds more to insure than my previous car the Audi TTS but it was also about two hundred pounds cheaper than the Jaguar f-type v6 s that I was looking at the same time those the cars that I was looking at so it was kind of in-between the middle then for me it feels totally reasonable it's expensive and it's a lot of money to pay out each year but when you hear some of the bills that people paying for cars like the m4 or like the c63 they're kind of in this range of a fifty five thousand pound car I was pleasantly surprised by the when I put in all my fingers and look for a quote so insurance pretty good now we get into the more day-to-day running cost you've sorted out buying the car we're covering off tax and insurance so what is it like and how much does it cost to run every day I use this is my daily driver I use this car every day in my life but it means that I experience all the everyday costs and the main thing about is being petrol any high-performance sports car is going to need to be filled up quite a lot but another brucy bonus about the four C's because it's so lightweight it's got a tiny engine it's really fuel economy geekin vicar really economic on its fuel and so I would say that as an average mpg across all types of driving 26 mpg is that with a good average number I took this car on a mad euro trip early this year which was like 3,000 miles three hours on every kind of road I went on the Autobahn I max it out to top speed I did mountain passes was going back and forth between hairpins and legal speed limit I was city crawling in Monaco like stuck in traffic I was just like I did a 13 hour drive in one day like I did every kind of road traffic possible and whilst it obviously the mpg buried at the end of the trip it's at 26mpg is my average readout that the styles of the fuel tank is the size of a pea it is the size of a small pea so the positive is is it cost nothing to fill out this car costs about 45 pounds to fill up from empty 45 pounds and that is with you know shell v-power so it is cheap to fill up it does mean that you don't get that far range I think my range is about 300 miles so with the average mpg of 26 mpg a full tank of 45 pounds I'm going about 300 miles so I was struggling with my old TTS that was becoming a bit of a burden in terms of petrol was this I kind of like I'm happy I'm gonna fill up fill it up you can put 20 quid it's like half a tank you're like amazing other like everyday running costs and like oils and windscreen washer and all that kind of stuff it's all pretty standard there are a few like suggestions in the Alfa Mayo handbook the 4c handbook guidebook etc that tells you kind of what I should use but they're not stupidly expensive you can get them in any petrol station one thing to be aware of though with the windscreen washer is refilling the windscreen washer is one of the most tremendous things any human could have ever done ever in life . so if you didn't know the front of the 4c is a false bonnet there's nothing there you can't open it they draw the lines just because they were like hashtag Yolo you only live once why do we need up on it let's just draw lines on it so it means that where you fill up your windscreen washer it's like a little weird perforated slot that you have to unscrew with a screwdriver then you have to get like a filler a filter thing it's just it's just awful so that means that I basically don't use my windscreen washers like I'll stop over at petrol stations in like wash it with our hand in the cloth so I'm just so terrified of running out of washer then I down and I have to refill it that I used I knew them and that I guess brings us on to the service the first service so the first service is twelve and a half thousand miles or one year after ownership I should have brought that forward a little bit early in my mind I got a first I got a message saying that the oil needs to be changed but following my massive you trip returning this year well I did really like thrash this car I wanted to take a few things like my tire life like my brake life check the carbon fiber tub all that kind of stuff so I thought let's just book it in now there's a few things you need to be a well firstly me as a human being I am very easily calmed if you want to steal all my money just so minimum be like you've got two million pounds in the Cayman Islands send me your bank details I'll do it I'll do it up like woo I got two million pounds mom gonna send my band details to Bob rip you off that is the first need to know about me the second thing is that I see no point in purposefully going against advice from Alfa Romeo just to save a little bit of cash so let me explain what's going on here basically the big thing that you'll read from any Alfa Romeo website or from the four C's handbook or anything like that is that this card needs to be lifted in a very special way there are huge warning signs everywhere like they always tell you cool up ATM oh wait the cars got to be lifted in a special way they bang on about this degree got lit at the special way and because of that they charge an extreme premium for specialists who know how to lift a car so I am a sucker for anyone be less than we have to do and I went on so many forums about like what should I do where should you go and it felt like the average price for a service for the first service was about 750 or 800 pounds and I think that being because of the man-hours because not only do they have to do the standard like first ever since oil changes and blah blah but they also have to do a whole load of swiftness ambulance to go by not only do they have to do like the standard first service things like oil changes etc etc but they have to a whole load of stuff like structural checks and reports they send backed out from air HQ so it is expensive but in the grand scheme of things I don't think it's crazy money and it's a big great job they did the job they quoted be able to take two days it only took a day the cars come back it was immaculate everything seems fine there were no issues they fixed a smelly air core neither that was my aircon smell of egg they fixed that immediately like in that smells fine and everything else was great so no complaints tires now they did spot that my rear tires are reasonably low and they're going to need to be changed in the next couple of months so I asked them how much it would cost to change just the to me times my front tires are totally fine and they quoted me four hundred and fifty pounds for the two rear tires now again I don't think that's that bad if I was to goes like quick fear or one of those like places where you can go just order your own tires and get them fitted or whatever yes I could want to do all four types for like five hundred quid but for a dealer to fit the tyres I don't think that's that bad I'm pretty comfortable paying that kind of money I think four tires if it feels like what I would probably have paid on my previous car I can't quite remember and prices do differ I think depending on your dealer and supply etc but my two rear tyres quoted to be refitted at 450 pounds now there are a few additional costs for my car which were mainly cosmetic changes because I'm vain but I will now talk you through some of those just so you're aware in case you want to make some similar changes to your car now I freaking love the color on this car and I want to get all the paintwork protected so the front half of my car basically from the wing mirrors forward has got paint protection film on it now if you don't know what paint protection film is it's basically a very clear vinyl which you can't really see I'm trying to find some lines for you that goes over the paintwork and helps to protect from paint chips but as you can see here it is really hard to demonstrate where the vinyl is because it is so thin and applied so carefully but to give you an idea of cost if you go down to elite detailing in London I'll put their information below to do the fun half of a small car like this will cost you about fifteen hundred pounds now to be honest I think it's worth it when I Drive the car as much as I do again it's little chips of paints of that which would just infuriate me so for me it was fifteen hundred pounds very well spent only a couple of other cosmetic changes and probably the most obvious is the slightly ostentatious gold wheels now I did that because firstly I were possessed with the current Ferrari 458 speciale ollie and the old 430 scuderia and every time I wanted one I would always spec them with the gold wheels so first off I was like I need that gold but secondly if you go back and look at the 33 stradale the Alfa Romeo 33 stradale they used to have gold wheels so I was like I'll be nice quite nice considering this car was designed around the sort of ethos of the 33 strongly to kind of give that a cheeky wink a decent gold wheels and they were done by posh wash here in London I think Oh prices start around 65 pounds per wheel would go on their website get up and on the info below they have obviously done a great job and I'm very happy and then the final cosmetic change was the black stripe this is probably the most controversial thing that added to the car not even the wheels it is just a vinyl wrap and it is in gloss black and this was done by Sierra in London a wrapping company again I'll put the information below and that was the kind of try and reflect the carbon sales which again you can get on the 430 scuderia and the four favorite speciality I mean basically I should have just saved up and got one of those caution no but instead I bought this car and try to make it look like one of those so there you have it a full rundown of some of the running costs that you might incur if you are looking to buy an Alfa Romeo 4c now of course a lot of these prices and cost will differ depending on your supplier where you're choosing to go as I admitted in the video I am NOT very savvy when it comes to finding deals but I wanted to give you some kind of idea as to the cost that you might incur anyway as I said I hope it's been helpful please give it a thumbs up if you want to see more videos on the 4c and make sure you subscribe for plenty more content today I'm joining supercar driver for one of their events guys I'm freaking out there's a challenge today in her outrageous arrivalhello one a no welcome to seeing through glass so my
