UNBOXING NEW FALL BOOK RELEASES.
**Hardy's Book Mail Unboxing**
I'm so excited to share my latest book mail unboxing with you all! I've been eagerly waiting for this moment, and finally, my books have arrived. As you can see from the pictures, I've got a few amazing books in store for me. If you want to hear more of my in-depth thoughts or get a little recap of what happened in the first two books before this one comes out, I'll leave my full spoiler-filled reviews for both "Sighs" and "Thunderhead" in the description.
But if you've yet to hear about this series, it takes place in a futuristic world where society has eliminated the majority of negative problems. Hunger, poverty, and even death are all under control, thanks to an organization called The Sides. They essentially "glean" people, ending their lifespans, so the first book follows two teenagers who become apprentices to The Sides and must compete to find out who will rise to be a Syphon and who will be gleaned by the others. It's amazing – it's one of my new favorite series of all time!
I'm absolutely obsessed with this series, and I've been counting down the days until the next installment comes out. Neel Schusterman is an author that I adore, and his writing has left me speechless more than once. I've read some of his older works and his newer stuff, and I'm just ready to be blown away by "Toll". I don't want to put it down like it's in my hands – that's how excited I am! The stickers on the package say "Team Sides: Our closest thing to a secret mission that modern society knows" and "Humans learned from their mistakes. We cannot make no mistakes." These cryptic messages only add to my anticipation for the conclusion of this series.
I've made it to our final book, and I'm so excited to see what Neel has in store for us! As you can see, one of the books I've received is "Entering Adamsville" by Francesca Eiland. I've been reading her books for years, but I still don't know if they're written as Paula or Francesca – sorry about that! This book takes place in a town called Adamsville, which seems to be an old, decrepit mine town. The thing keeping this town alive and attracting visitors and tourists is the fact that there are ghosts and spirits that roam Adamsville.
Our main character's name is And, and she's currently being framed for a crime that she didn't commit. Amidst all the supernatural goings-on of Adamsville, she has to find the true culprit, clear her name, and protect the town from these creatures hell-bent on destruction. I've read "Made You Up" and "Eliza and Her Monsters" before, but this is going to be a little different – it's my first paranormal novel by Francesca Eiland, and I'm really excited! It also seems to have that spooky, creepy fall feel that I'm really into.
I received this book with a cute little themed bookmark that says "A crime she didn't commit. A culprit she can't catch. A town obsessed with ghosts." Oh my gosh – it's adorable! There are also some little drawings in here that I don't know what to say about, but they're cute! I'm definitely going to pick this up probably around September or October.
And that concludes my book mail unboxing! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Although I don't do the multiple subscription service unboxings that I used to do on my channel, I would love to get back into it if there's interest. If you'd like to see more unboxings featuring books that I receive for free from publishers, please let me know – I would love to make some more!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up hello my name is Emma and today I am doing an unboxing my goodness has it been a hot minute since I've said that and especially without the context of me like making fun of myself to say it genuinely again is a really good feeling if you missed it I did a little bit of solo traveling this summer I went to London and Paris for just over two weeks and over that time I did accumulate some packages at home that publishers had sent me and so I thought it would be a great opportunity not only to make a video that you guys have been requesting me to do again for a really long time but also to sort of give you an idea of like what type of books do you booktubers get sent by publishers if that is a topic that interests you I do have a super super detailed video from my book teaming 101 series all about the different ways that book tubers work with publishers and I'll link that down below if that's something you want to learn more about and I'll also talk a little bit about that as like I'm getting these books and explain to you like why I have it so in the last month or so I received six packages from publishers and companies that were sent to me we're gonna jump into the unboxing but I do just want to make like an overall disclaimer for this video so that we're all on the same page as we're talking about like publisher relationships number one all of these books were sent to me for free and number two I am not being paid by any of these companies to talk about these books in this specific video none of them you would know I'm making an unboxing with what they sent me and that's one of the reasons I was really excited to film this video I have absolutely no obligations to say anything about them or even feature them in this video so let's dive in let's start with this one because I know what it is this was sent to me by penguin Random House so thanks so much to penguin for sending it to me and I'm pretty confident it contains the beautiful byron AOPA because it says it on the bottom of the box this was definitely a box that they printed specifically to send out books to reviewers it says it begins with a look at ignites with a kiss it always ends in blood now I would say the majority of books I get from publishers are sent to me without asking they just like have my address and will send me books that they want to potentially get a feature on but this is actually one that I requested from the publisher because it is like one of my most anticipated for the rest of the year so I've been really excited to read it how do I open this oh I'm so bad at opening these boxes oh my goodness oh it says something inside to I want to know what it says oh that probably wasn't a great idea it was a nice box anyways honestly if they didn't want me to do this they shouldn't have put the text on the inside it says New Orleans 1872 the darkest creatures of the underworld are embroiled in age-old feud and Saleem and Sebastian are at the very heart of it when there's like a little wax seal letter I've got a lion on it how cute as expected the book enclosed is the beautiful by Renee off the a this is an advanced reader copy otherwise known as an arc and it is a printing of the book before publication and its purpose is to be sent to booktubers but bloggers reviewers other authors people who can generate hype for the release it comes out this October and I'm really hyped for it because it is said to be like the why a fantasy to bring back vampires our main character Selene has a flood her life in Paris as a dressmaker to settle in a convent in New Orleans during 1872 Selene becomes involved with one of the leaders of the major vampire clans in New Orleans but she starts to feel a little bit unsettled when she believes that he might be responsible for the murders of girls in her convent the last line of the synopsis is at once a sultry romance and a decadent thrilling mystery master storyteller Renee APA embarks on her most potent fantasy series yet I'm really hyped for this one I have always been like a lover of vampires and mythical creatures in fantasy I am a big fan of Renee Athea I've read quite a few of her works and I think that she just has a really beautiful prose so I'm excited to see what she does with this new release it seems extremely different from the wrath and the dawn and flame in the mist so I'm excited to see where this sort of like historical fiction blended with paranormal fantasy goes next up I have a package from machette which I believe is also a part of little brown young readers which is like their why a branch but I honestly have no clue what's in here because I don't think I requested from them oh okay this is one of the situations where I was sent a book from the publisher but I did not request it from them and they didn't email it to me like this literally showed up and I didn't know it was in here until you just saw me open up what they sent me capturing the devil by Carrie Maniscalco which is the fourth and final installment in the stalking Jack the Ripper series so the first book in this series is stalking Jack the Ripper and it follows a girl named Audrey who is a forensic apprentice at her uncle's mortuary so as Audrey is examining all of these corpses Jack the Ripper is currently terrorizing London and so Audrey makes it her mission to find out his true identity so what I find really interesting about this series is while it takes place chronologically it follows the same cast of characters each installment is very distinct and it follows a sort of villain person of history and it's basically Audrey and her friend Thomas interacting with them and trying to solve mysteries first installment is talking Jack the Ripper second is hunting Prince Dracula third is escaping from Houdini and finally capturing the devil is book for now I'm actually not caught up in the series I've only read the first two books but my mama has actually also read the first two books so she's gonna be excited to know I got the fourth one I have some mixed thoughts on this series because I think the premise and just the overall concept of this series is so incredible and super of my alley but when I read the first two books in it I was just underwhelmed by both of them I think a gave book one maybe three stars although I probably would go back and drop it now and I gave book two like two and a half stars so it's definitely not my favorite series out there but for some odd reason I'm still really intrigued by it and I do want to finish it someday my driving force for continuing the series is I just love the main characters so so much I think Audrey and Thomas have the most wonderful realistic just swoony and perfect relationship historical fiction has never been my thing I don't love the writing in all these books and I also have yet to be impressed by the plot but I just I love that main couple so much and I really want to see how their relationship progresses I will read book 3 eventually and I'm like super Zoomer hopeful that I can fall in love with this series in the last two installments but I honestly just feel like it's one of those series that while other people love it so so much it just has never struck me and maybe it never will okay next up we have another one from penguin I don't know if I'm actually waiting on anything from them it could be unsolicited or it could be something that I've requested oh okay so this book is the baby-sitters coven by Kate Williams this is a book that I did technically request because I am doing like a sponsored Instagram post for it I think I had some cool ideas for this one so whatever I do end up doing I'll post it right here for you to see the final product to reiterate though this video isn't sponsored sometimes I'll do like a sponsored video or a sponsored post for a specific book but any other time I talk about the book outside of that particular post I agreed to totally not sponsored so this book has been marketed as a mix between the baby-sitters club and Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I feel like this book has some big shoes to fill our main character's name is Asma and she has a babysitter's club because she doesn't want to get a normal job she's good at babysitting and she needs some cash because it seems like destruction has been following her everywhere so she's always got to pay people for things there's a new girl in town named Cassandra and she seems like this really like rebellious edgy type so it's kind of perplexing that she would want to join as Mays baby-sitters club but Cassandra's reason for joining is her mother left her a note that says find me babysitters love mom I also like the final line of the synopsis it says turns out Esme and Cassandra have more in common than they think and they're about to discover what being a babysitter really means a heroic lineage of superpowers magic rituals and saving the innocent from seriously terrifying evil and all before the parents get home I will be honest that I do feel like this book is a little bit young for me especially in the last year or so I'm much more focused on like older yaa it is a book that I think I could enjoy I mean like I love a witchy book around the spooky Halloween fall season but I think there's an equal chance that I would be disappointed by it especially with that Buffy comparison because big shoes not the highest on my TBR but it's something to consider when I really get into that Halloween which he mood and I'm interested to see what I think of it next up I have my monthly book of the month why a box you may have heard of Book of the Month in the past it is a subscription service I have been working with for years now where essentially they give you five selections of like hot new releases they also highlight a bunch of new debut authors every month you pick your favorites and it gets delivered right to your door so it makes shopping for new releases much more convenient but also they are cheaper than buying all of these books at retail price the original book of the month box is mostly adult they do a lot of literary fiction and thrillers and women's fiction but they just recently launched their a book of the month why a subscription which is the same thing but specifically for why a books I am a Book of the Month affiliate if you haven't heard so if you would like to try it out if you use the link in the description you do help directly support this channel which is really awesome I might also have a code for you to use where you get a discount if I have one I'm gonna put it right here so yeah every month as an affiliate book-of-the-month asks me what book I want they send it to me I show it to you guys so that's what we're gonna do right now but if I'm honest I don't remember what book I chose I chose this at like mid-august so I literally cannot remember it's still a surprise oh okay so the book that I chose from what I believe was their September book selection is the Stars and the blackness between them by Janata Petrus I had never heard of this book until it was on the book-of-the-month list for their why a selection and I ended up choosing it over other books that I had known about and eventually want to get just because I thought it was a great opportunity for me to pick up something different so our first main character is named Audra and she is being forced to move out of her home in Trinidad to live with her father in America because her mother found her with her secret girlfriend so in Minneapolis we also have Mabel who is currently dealing with some feelings about her ex some feelings about the girl that she's currently seeing as well as this feeling of sickness and illness that she's been carrying along with her this summer that she doesn't really know what it is so does the store two black girls who meet and begin to fall in love it seems like there's going to be a lot of rich discussion about sexuality homophobia as well as different cultural disparities and even some chronic illness I'm really really excited for this book it's pretty short so it seems like it could be a quick read and just like the cover and the synopsis it seems like it's going to be a stunning book all throughout I haven't personally heard a single person mention it so I don't know what the reviews are like but it's something that like now that I remember that I picked it I'm really really excited to read it two more boxes and I think I know what's in one of them so maybe let's go with that one first and save a surprise to the end this package is from Simon & Schuster so thank you so much to Simon & Schuster for sending it to me I think this might also be another one of my most anticipated of the year hopefully so we'll see that'd be really embarrassing if it wasn't oh there's two mutts in here what a surprise oh wait no there's not do bugs there is just there's this in there look like oh yeah there's Nick erisa okay so you already know how much I love Daisy Jones in the six and how it's currently at like the number one spot for my favorite book of the year but I'm really excited for these two books coming out on November 5th and we're just gonna have like a great battle in my head for my favorite of the year it's gonna be hyped so our second contestant will be VTOL by Neil Schusterman the third and final installment in the art of a side series I cannot believe this book is in my hands like I knew this was coming this is a book that I had requested like this second I got an email and it's at the toll on do I risk looking at how many pages are in it and spoiling myself I don't know if I can do this without making it worse okay we're covering everything it's 627 pages I'm so excited I was hoping and praying that Simon teen was going to have these books available for me to request because typically the final book in like a really massively popular series does not get advance reader copies because like they don't need to build the hype everyone Hardy wants it if you want to hear more of my in-depth thoughts or you want a little recap of what happened in the first two books before this one comes out I'll leave my full spoiler filled reviews for both sighs and Thunderhead in the description but if you have yet to hear about this series it takes place in this futuristic world where society has eliminated the grand majority pretty much all negative problems so hunger poverty and even death order to keep the population under control in a world of immortality we have this organization called the sides that sort of glean people is the word that they use but like they essentially are like ending their lifespans and so the first book follows two teenagers who become apprentices to aside and they essentially have to compete to find out who is going to rise to syphon favorite author of mine I've read some of his older works and his newer stuff and I'm just ready to be blown away by the toll I like don't want to put it down like it's in my hands like that's how excited I am I just want to hold it all day oh let me show you the stickers the first sticker says team size ours is the closest thing to a secret mission that modern society knows and the second says team Thunderhead humans learned from their mistakes I cannot I make no mistakes which is honestly really cryptic this conclusion is going to be so intense and I cannot wait I feel like I have to move around my entire TBR to start it like immediately oh my god I really can't start it whenever I want to whoo that's a wild we have made it to our final book and final package this was sent to me by a HarperCollins this is another one where I don't know if I requested it or if it was sent unsolicited so we're gonna see who is this no I already had a final copy but this is a final copy which I'm excited about and that book is now entering Adamsville by Francesca's Appiah I've been reading her books for years and I still don't know if it's a pia or xàbia I'm sorry so this book takes place in a town called Adamsville which seems to be like an old decrepit mine town but the thing that is keeping this town alive and attracting visitors and tourists to it is the fact that there are ghosts and spirits that roam Adamsville our main character's name is and she is currently being framed for a crime that she did not commit so among all of the supernatural goings-on of Adamsville she has to find the true culprit clear her name and protect the town from these creatures hell-bent on destruction like I said I have read at friend Francesca as if here before I really enjoyed both made you up and Eliza and her monsters but now entering Adamsville is gonna be a little different as it is like the first paranormal that I'm reading for her and I'm really excited it also seems to have that like spooky creepy fall feel that I'm really going for and this is another one that I have been highly anticipating so I'm really excited to read it it came with this cute little themed bookmark that says a crime she didn't commit a culprit she can't catch a town obsessed with ghosts oh my gosh it seems like there's a few like little drawings in here and that's cute I don't know I got nothing more to say then I think I'm really going to like it and I'm definitely going to pick it up probably this September October or November so that concludes my book mail unboxing I really hope you guys enjoyed it although I don't do the multiple subscription service unboxings that I used to do on my channel I do kind of want to get back into like saving up some recent packages and filming it and chatting about them with you guys if that's something you guys are interested in as well please let me know and especially if you guys would like to see more unboxings that are all about the books that I get sent for free from publishers I would love to make some more cuz this was a lot of fun in the comments below I would love to hear about some new books that have recently come into your life whether you're also a reviewer who got a super exciting new release if you ordered a book from your library and it finally came in or if you were just a book hoarder who can't stop buying books what have your most recent packages contained but that is it for this video thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you soon for a new one byehey what's up hello my name is Emma and today I am doing an get advance reader copies because like they don't need to build the hype everyone Hardy wants it if you want to hear more of my in-depth thoughts or you want a little recap of what happened in the first two books before this one comes out I'll leave my full spoiler filled reviews for both sighs and Thunderhead in the description but if you have yet to hear about this series it takes place in this futuristic world where society has eliminated the grand majority pretty much all negative problems so hunger poverty and even death order to keep the population under control in a world of immortality we have this organization called the sides that sort of glean people is the word that they use but like they essentially are like ending their lifespans and so the first book follows two teenagers who become apprentices to aside and they essentially have to compete to find out who is going to rise to syphon and who is going to be gleaned by the other so yeah it's amazing it's one of my new favorite series of all time and I'm so so excited for this release oh my gosh Neel Schusterman is absolutely a favorite author of mine I've read some of his older works and his newer stuff and I'm just ready to be blown away by the toll I like don't want to put it down like it's in my hands like that's how excited I am I just want to hold it all day oh let me show you the stickers the first sticker says team size ours is the closest thing to a secret mission that modern society knows and the second says team Thunderhead humans learned from their mistakes I cannot I make no mistakes which is honestly really cryptic this conclusion is going to be so intense and I cannot wait I feel like I have to move around my entire TBR to start it like immediately oh my god I really can't start it whenever I want to whoo that's a wild we have made it to our final book and final package this was sent to me by a HarperCollins this is another one where I don't know if I requested it or if it was sent unsolicited so we're gonna see who is this no I already had a final copy but this is a final copy which I'm excited about and that book is now entering Adamsville by Francesca's Appiah I've been reading her books for years and I still don't know if it's a pia or xàbia I'm sorry so this book takes place in a town called Adamsville which seems to be like an old decrepit mine town but the thing that is keeping this town alive and attracting visitors and tourists to it is the fact that there are ghosts and spirits that roam Adamsville our main character's name is and she is currently being framed for a crime that she did not commit so among all of the supernatural goings-on of Adamsville she has to find the true culprit clear her name and protect the town from these creatures hell-bent on destruction like I said I have read at friend Francesca as if here before I really enjoyed both made you up and Eliza and her monsters but now entering Adamsville is gonna be a little different as it is like the first paranormal that I'm reading for her and I'm really excited it also seems to have that like spooky creepy fall feel that I'm really going for and this is another one that I have been highly anticipating so I'm really excited to read it it came with this cute little themed bookmark that says a crime she didn't commit a culprit she can't catch a town obsessed with ghosts oh my gosh it seems like there's a few like little drawings in here and that's cute I don't know I got nothing more to say then I think I'm really going to like it and I'm definitely going to pick it up probably this September October or November so that concludes my book mail unboxing I really hope you guys enjoyed it although I don't do the multiple subscription service unboxings that I used to do on my channel I do kind of want to get back into like saving up some recent packages and filming it and chatting about them with you guys if that's something you guys are interested in as well please let me know and especially if you guys would like to see more unboxings that are all about the books that I get sent for free from publishers I would love to make some more cuz this was a lot of fun in the comments below I would love to hear about some new books that have recently come into your life whether you're also a reviewer who got a super exciting new release if you ordered a book from your library and it finally came in or if you were just a book hoarder who can't stop buying books what have your most recent packages contained but that is it for this video thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you soon for a new one bye\n"
