Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone Unboxing & Hands On Overview

**Unboxing and First Impressions: Nokia Lumia 1520**

The front of the phone features a 1.2 megapixel camera, which can record video up to 720p HD. As we unlock the device again, we're greeted by the latest version of Windows Phone, and I'm immediately struck by the numerous icons on the screen compared to other Windows phones. This is largely due to the large screen size, which boasts a full HD resolution of 1080p. The display looks quite good, and it's clear that Windows is taking advantage of this increased screen real estate.

Let's take a look at the settings menu. As you can see, we have access to various options such as storage and brightness adjustments. Out of the box, the phone comes with approximately 25.73084 megabytes of free storage space on the microSD card, which should provide ample room for users' needs. Regarding battery life, the 3400mAh battery is not user replaceable, but it should be sufficient to meet daily demands.

The brightness sensor also features prominently on this device, and I've found that it can adjust the screen brightness quite seamlessly. As an example, let's set the screen brightness to high and observe its performance. The result is a rather bright display, which should be suitable for users who often find themselves in well-lit environments.

**Wi-Fi and Connectivity**

Regarding Wi-Fi connectivity, the Nokia Lumia 1520 supports all three Wi-Fi standards: BGN and the latest AC standard. This will provide users with stable and fast internet connections throughout their browsing experience. Another notable feature of this device is its powerful under-the-hood Snapdragon 800 chipset, which boasts a quad-core processor running at 2.2 GHz. The Adreno 330 GPU also enhances the overall performance of the phone.

In terms of web browsing, Windows Phone runs relatively smoothly on this device, thanks to the powerful processor and adequate RAM. I've tested the browser with various websites, including YouTube, which displays high-quality videos without any issues. Furthermore, pinch-to-zoom gestures are responsive, making it a joy to navigate through content.

**Camera and Additional Features**

One of the standout features of this device is its 20 megapixel primary camera, which boasts PureView technology. I'll be testing the camera extensively in a dedicated video review, but for now, let's take a look at the camera app. Pressing the shutter button launches the camera, and users can tap anywhere on the screen to focus. The result is an impressive picture with excellent detail, even in low-light conditions.

The camera also features various settings options, including a "pro" mode that offers manual adjustments for exposure, ISO, and more. This will be put to good use in my upcoming review video, where I'll be testing the camera's capabilities further.

**Wireless Charging and Conclusion**

Finally, this device supports wireless charging out of the box, making it a convenient option for users who prefer not to deal with cables. I've tested the Nokia Wireless Charger, which seamlessly charges the phone without any issues.

In conclusion, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is an impressive Windows Phone that checks all the right boxes. With its large screen, powerful processor, and excellent camera capabilities, it's a compelling option for users looking for a high-end device with a unique feature set. As I mentioned earlier, I'll be publishing a dedicated review video in the coming days, where I'll delve deeper into the phone's features and performance.

comes to 367 PPI and uh though the phone looks very uh big let me give you an idea let me bring some phones this is the LG Flex and this one also has a 6in screen but it flexes a bit and uh as you can see it's very close to that in the height department but again the LG Flex is a little bit curved and uh let me also bring this this is a 5 in phone uh that's the what do you say uh Nexus 5 so this gives you an idea how the 6 in looks again it's a pretty big phone uh compared to other phones so let me give you a physical overview first on the top we have the 3.5mm headphone jack and on this end just unlock this device again uh it comes with the latest version of Windows phone and again the first thing that strike me is we see a lot more icons compared to other windows phone and uh Windows is taking advantage of this large screen and it's a full HD screen that's a 1080p screen and as you can see it looks actually pretty good and uh let us look at the settings let me see yes here are the chipset uh that's a 2.2 GHz quadcore processor and it has the powerful adreno 330 GPU so it's a very powerful uh chip that is being used by this phone and as you can see again Windows Phone runs opening it in its own Android app let me maximize the volume and hi there this is as you can this video it can go pretty loud uh it's actually very loud the speaker on this one uh so that's nice again many of the high-end smartphones have very teeny speakers but that's not the case with this one one more thing that this Lumia 1520 supports out of the box is wireless charging and I have this Nokia Wireless Charger and let me just switch off this phone and as you can see we have nothing no special cover or anything just place it on a wireless charger and it should start charging as you can see
