"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is Adam with digital trends we are here at the 2019 Auto Show with the car of the moment the Mustang Mach II this will be on sale next year and all the hullabaloo is over whether or not it's a Mustang now we can go over the numbers it has up to 300 miles of range 450 horsepower it comes in three different variants we can go through all that but really what people care about is is it actually a Mustang is it worthy of the name now most people seem to be saying no here's why they're wrong in 1964 the original Mustang came out and it's a ma critized sports cars for America before that date it was really just the Europeans that were in that game and Americans had no choice but to go over there most Americans were priced out of the sports car market back then the Mustang came out changed everything and now the Mustang machi is gonna do the same thing it is democratizing electric power for the masses this is going to start at about $43,000 before the federal $7,000 tax credit this is totally attainable and amazingly for Ford it is going to be profitable this is going to be the most mass-market evie you're going to see next year Digital Trends is incredibly excited about it we can't wait to get our hands on it but right now let's go take a look inside at that huge 15-inch screen now before we even get inside it is worth talking about the door handle this very cool little winglet here absolutely no door handle what's going on here alright so the car is going to sense your key fob or your phone and automatically unlock for you then you grab the door handle get your thumb door opens you have the patented Ford keypad right here if you want it but really it's just hand in a little button you're in the car super cool obviously the main feature in the maquis is this 15 inch screen Ford clearly had to play in Tesla's playground to even compete with them the whole interior is super futuristic but it's this screen dominating the dash what I really love about it is it also has an analogue knob so it's not completely touchscreen and you have these buttons that are kind of locked down here so it's a nice melding of both functions just on a tactile sense the knob feels really nice it's a pretty nice plastic that's textured and each click has a very nice tactility to it inside like I said super futuristic we have the Bang & Olufsen stereo here for this showcar little carbon-fiber accents nice leather it's a really updated Ford interior honestly if Ford's interiors are all over the place they have enough industrial trucks and industrial cars that they can kind of cheap out on things and they also have upper market items this is going to be one of those it feels incredibly 2025 in here I think all the owners are gonna be really pleased with it we're gonna crank up that Bang & Olufsen system as soon as we get one on loan you have these huge glass roof up above us that is an option but is one I highly recommend to kind of give the cabin some airiness you've got another small screen right here for the driver and a third small screen right here that's probably just going to be functions the interior feels super comfortable all the appointments are pretty upmarket for Ford if I'm honest but then again this car has to be a success for them but frankly we think it will be so that is the Mustang Mach II in a nutshell I'll let you decide whether it deserves to wear the name Mustang but in my book it certainly does thanks for joining usthis is Adam with digital trends we are here at the 2019 Auto Show with
