Get DAYS Of Battery Life on Apple Watch with Low Power Mode

Extending Your Apple Watch Battery Life with Low Power Mode in WatchOS 9

Apple is introducing a new feature that will allow you to extend your actual watch's battery life for nearly days at a time with the new low power mode in watchOS 9. This feature will be widely available on September 12th, and we'll take a look at how to enable it.

To access Low Power Mode, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get into Control Center. You can find your battery indicator right here at 69 percent (or in a different spot on your watch). Tap on Battery Status to see how much battery life you have remaining and what features will be impacted by switching to Low Power Mode.

If you tap on Power or Low Power Mode, you'll notice that it does much more than the previous Power Reserve mode. When you toggle this on, there's an alert that appears with information on Low Power Mode. This feature helps save battery life by turning off the Always-On Display, limiting sensors, and disabling cellular and Wi-Fi connections of your Apple Watch.

When you scroll down to see more information about Low Power Mode, you'll find out how notifications may be delayed and emergency alerts may not arrive if you have Wi-Fi and cellular enabled but are not within range of your iPhone. You can also expect some background heart rate, irregular rhythm, and oxygen measurements to be disabled to help save battery life.

Now that we've explained what Low Power Mode does, let's dive into the different options for how long you want your Apple Watch to last on a single charge. If you hit Turn On for 4 days, you'll see a pop-up with options for a day, two days, or three days. Choose one of these options to set your desired duration.

If you're ready to enable Low Power Mode right away and don't need to choose an option, simply tap on the button and then turn it off again to exit Low Power Mode. You'll see that you're in Low Power Mode based on a yellow indicator. At any time, you can go back to turning it off by tapping on the button.

The main goal of Low Power Mode is to help your Apple Watch last longer on a single charge, especially when you're not using it constantly and want to minimize notifications. You can expect this feature to be available for series 4 or later Apple Watches, as well as for Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, and the new Apple Watch Series 8.

Additionally, Low Power Mode will also be available on the Apple Watch SC and Apple Watch Ultra when they arrive. In these cases, you can expect an extended battery life from 30 hours to nearly a full week of use.

Overall, this new feature is going to provide a huge benefit for Apple Watch users who want to minimize their notifications or just need more battery life without having to sacrifice their features and functionality.
