Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 Full Review - An Underrated Budget Phone

**The Huawei Y7 Pro (2019) Review: A Decent Budget Smartphone with Some Surprises**

The Huawei Y7 Pro (2019) is a budget smartphone that promises to deliver good performance, impressive cameras, and a great design at an affordable price. As we dive into our review of this device, it becomes clear that Huawei has done a decent job in creating a phone that checks most of the right boxes.

One of the first things that stands out about the Y7 Pro is its eye-catching blue color scheme. This particular shade of blue catches the light and looks stunning on the phone's sleek design. The overall design of the phone is minimalistic, with only a few elements adding some visual interest at the back. However, the decision to display Huawei's branding prominently at the front of the phone feels somewhat unnecessary, especially when it's also present at the back. Maybe this was done to utilize the chin at the bottom, but it ultimately feels like a bit of redundancy.

The right-hand side of the phone is home to the power button, volume controls, and a decently tactile set of buttons. The bottom firing speaker is a welcome addition, as is the headphone jack on top - although its placement may seem unusual to some. The speaker grille at the top also houses an LED indicator, which is slightly dimmer than it could be. Despite these minor quibbles, the phone feels premium in the hand and looks expensive for its price.

The 6.26-inch display is a decent effort, with HD+ resolution that's clear enough to get by. However, it doesn't particularly stand out from the crowd. The u-shaped notch at the top of the screen covers more area than necessary, but it's not too distracting either. In normal usage, the display holds up well, although watching YouTube videos can sometimes result in a lack of punch - likely due to the phone's relatively low brightness.

One aspect that truly surprises us about the Y7 Pro is its camera performance. The dual-camera setup at the back with its 13MP + 2MP sensors delivers some impressive results, especially in good lighting conditions. Colours are vibrant and well-balanced, and although there's not a huge amount of detail to be found in every shot, the images are generally pleasing to the eye. Portrait shots look okay too, although separation is somewhat lacking - perhaps something that can be improved upon with future updates. HDR mode does make a slight difference, but it's barely noticeable.

However, low-light photography is where the camera falters. Colours become muddy and washed out, and the results are not exactly what you'd expect from this level of hardware. Selfies, on the other hand, are good and detailed, with the 16MP sensor delivering natural-looking images that are colourful and well-exposed.

Performance-wise, the Y7 Pro is powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 450 processor, which provides moderate performance for everyday use. The phone can handle low-end to mid-tier games without any issues, but more demanding titles may struggle to run smoothly in their lowest settings. With 32GB of internal storage and expandable storage up to 512GB via microSD card, the Y7 Pro should be able to handle most users' needs.

One significant drawback of this phone is its lack of a fingerprint sensor - something that's become increasingly common at this price point. Facial unlock works decently well but can be slow on occasion. Battery life, however, is where the Y7 Pro truly shines. The 4000mAh battery easily lasts two days on normal usage, watch videos, and playing games do drain it a bit faster.

Lastly, charging time is somewhat of an issue - with up to more than 2.5 hours required to fully charge the phone. This might be mitigated by using fast chargers, but in this day and age, quick charging would be a welcome feature.

Overall, the Huawei Y7 Pro (2019) is a decent budget smartphone that delivers some impressive features at an affordable price. While it may not be the most exciting device on the market, it checks many of the right boxes - from its great camera performance to its long battery life and sleek design. Whether or not this phone will stand out in the competition will depend on what else is available in the market.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHuawei has added another smartphone to its budget lineup the Huawei y7 through 2019 and as I said in the impressions video this seems like a design centric smartphone and to many it may seem so because of its looks I have used this device for quite a few days now and here is what I think about it the Huawei y7 Pro 2019 at first glance looks very appealing it has a sleek plastic construction no doubts on that but considering the price you get quite a deal the gradient back here is an eye candy and this particular blue color stands out from the rest effortlessly the design looks minimalistic with a few elements at the back but I didn't quite understand why Huawei has added its branding at the front while it's there at the back too maybe to utilize the chin at the bottom you get all your buttons on the right which are decently tactile bottom firing speaker with second speaker being a microphone and there's a headphone jack on the top while this might seem like an unusual placement you get used to it pretty easily the speaker grille at the top is also the house for an LED indicator which is a little too dim for my liking the Huawei y7 Pro does not feel cheap on hands and it does not look inexpensive either while way seems to have worked its way through pretty well here the display is six point two six inches in measurement with HD plus resolution and though it does not particularly stand out it is not bad there's a u-shaped notch up front which for some reason covers more area than it should nonetheless it's a big and colorful display with ample brightness even outdoors only while watching YouTube videos I've noticed some lacking punch but that is because I come from a fished eat this place otherwise this one gets on pretty well especially on normal usage so I would say that this display is OK at best for the price tag one thing that I thought this phone would not do good is in the cameras but I was actually pretty surprised with the actual outcome this one follows the trend of having a dual camera setup at the back with its thirteen plus two megapixel sensors and as I said earlier this one's pretty surprising take a look at these samples here the colors have popped out and although you don't abundant details in the shots at first glance you get good looking images and that I think is okay as long as the pictures look good to the eyes having said that the camera does struggle for a while to focus on subjects but the end result is always good in good lighting conditions portrait shots look decent too you don't get proper at separation though have a look at these samples here and be the chart yourself likewise HDR option is something that could improve in future generations as there is barely any noticeable difference with it turn on and off there's also an AI option that does very subtle color changes in pictures in low lighting conditions however you will get muddy images but I had expected that so let's not go on about it the selfies on the other hand are good and detailed with its 16 megapixel sensor they are colourful and natural too there is no selfie portrait feature though which might let down some expectations on the brighter side I think this one can be a good selfie phone for the selfie lovers out there the performance side in the War II y7 through 2019 is backed by the snapdragon 450 which is an upgrade over last year snapdragon 430 but still an OK performer i feel the phone's performance is moderate in terms of app opening and even while switching between them Babji is playable in low settings with starters time and again low end to mid tire games run well on this device but on normal use I don't have much complaints you get 32 GB internal memory for use that is expandable up to 512 GB the available 3gb of RAM I think is standard for the price being asked so it's well and good a huge downside to this device is the absence of a fingerprint sensor in 2019 it kind of feels strange not having it on your phone I use facial unlock as my primary unlocked practice which is a bit slow but gets it correct most of the times so the performance side of things in the Huawei y7 Pro 2019 is just average when put in comparison to its competitors but I hope Wahby will improve in the future this device if nothing else excels in the battery department the 4000 mAh battery does hold up well for two days in a row on normal usage watch videos and playing games does drain it a bit faster but even so you get over one day of battery which I would say is commendable of course the HD display has a huge role to play in this however what's painful is the charging time which goes up to more than 2.5 hours so for a price of rupees 18000 490 the Huawei y7 pro is a decent you could look at it has a great set of cameras great battery backup at a very good design and actually this phone is priced pretty competitively here in Nepal when the prices of Pakistan Bangladesh or even Philippines is concerned so in Nepal this device is a pretty good deal to look at all thanks to the competition so that was all for the review tell us what do you think about the
