iPhone 15 Pro Max HONEST Review - 6 Months Later
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe iPhone 15 and 15 Pro have been out for a little over 6 months now so here's my quick six Monon check-in on how my experience is going so far and whether or not you should buy one if you're thinking about upgrading right now or if you should just wait a few more months for the iPhone 16 lineup so I've been daily driving this iPhone this is the iPhone 15 Pro Max without a case about every single day for the last six or so months since launched it I think the last time I did a check-in video I bragged about how well everything was holding up and that even though I have dropped it a few times there were no scuffs scratches or anything like that on the titanium frame well that ship has sailed for me honestly I feel like it happened the moment after I push publish on that video I had a pretty bad drop my phone isn't in awful condition but it certainly has had a few major drops recently that have either scuffed up or chipped away at this titanium frame now usually by the six month Mark or even earlier the stainless steel framed iPhones that I have would have just like normal wear and tear scratches all over the place and I honestly can't really see any on this natural titanium frame uh aside from the point of impacts and the scrapes and you know things from when I dropped the phone but from like normal use taking it in and out of my pocket or whatever the stainless steel would definitely get a lot more scratches haven't noticed any at all on this iPhone which is good now the screen has a few normal scratch es but it's not that bad because I do like to use a screen protector it's the only thing I kind of do put on my phones although just yesterday I dropped and crack that screen protector so as of right now I don't have one on there uh so you can kind of get a look at how the screen's holding up but everything else has been pretty good so far I mean if we look at the back pretty much Flawless there is a little bit of like wear and tear around the uh glass here for the lens but other than that this phone has held up pretty well so if you're worried about durability obviously put a case it's been mostly user damage for me on my end uh but nothing is kind of like falling apart the titanium frames holding up really really well uh hopefully it remains that way it is only been six months so we'll see how it goes in a year but um as far as overheating that was an issue early on we talked about in the last video didn't really notice anything was still getting honestly I really haven't paid attention to The Thermals of this phone which is a good thing no news is good news uh I haven't really had any issues so nothing comes to mind obviously it gets hot at certain times if I'm outside I'm using it in the sun it gets hot but it cools pretty quickly and performance has been fine in terms of battery life it was great for me early on but I am starting to notice that things are getting worse it's not unexpected and it's certainly not terrible but I can also notice that it's degrading and some days it's really good and some days it's pretty bad again it just depends on my day so I think I end the day with like 20 to 30% usually at 30% my low power mode kicks on so it hangs on a lot better during that time period it's not terrible I'm still more than capable of getting through a complete day here's my cycle count and battery health percentage if you were curious about that I'm not really sure we should be paying tons of attention to these statistics but for those that are curious this is where I am currently at about 6 months in if you have an iPhone 15 15 Pro Plus Max whatever it might be let me know in the comments what your battery life is looking like these days uh yeah would love to hear from you in the comments down below now the action button is actually something I use quite a bit nearly every day my brain is fully programmed to use the action button to launch into the camera app every single time I need to take a picture or video I wish it was used for something more fun or complicated but honestly simple is better at times and that's the app that I need to get into quickly and I don't like going from the lock screen and so I prefer to use the action button and I like that I can use the action button to get into the camera no matter what app I am in and you can't do that any other way and so that's what I've trained my brain for now the iPhone 16 pro and pro Max have a rumored caption button I'm guessing you can probably launch into the camera button and then do other camera functions with it and so I'll have to rete my brain and kind of undo all of the work that I've done but you know I do love the action button for that specific use case if it does switch over to the iPhone 16 Pros capture button I'll learn to use that and then I'll program the action button to something else but I got to find a good use case for it of course want to hear from you about that as well let me know in the comments down below what you use your action button for and the last thing I want to check in on are the cameras the iPhone 15 pro and pro Max remain undefeated in my eyes they're obviously the best set of cameras that you can get on an iPhone and pretty much the best for any phone there really are a few other Android phones that are pretty much right up there with them but this is the top of the line in my opinion I still really love them I have no issues with this camera system whatsoever but I am looking forward to the potential upgrades that are coming with the iPhone 16 pro and pro Max I don't really use the ultra wide camera and maybe that will change this year with the sensor potentially getting a lot better as rumors suggest but my go-to is obviously the main lens and that 5x telephoto for portraits I love those portraits that come out of it now at the beginning of the video I mentioned maybe you should consider waiting for the iPhone 16 and I think that's going to be my overall recommendation the iPhone 15 Pro Max is an incredible phone a lot of really good upgrades are coming and if you don't care about those upgrades then sure upgrade to the 15 you'll be very happy but if you're coming from a 14 and going to the 16 it'll feel like a much bigger upgrade and literally any other older phone obviously will feel the same way now the phones are expected to get bigger so 6.1 to 6.3 and 6.7 to 6.9 for the pr models and so if you're a pro user that could already make the decision easier for you if you don't want to go that big and you like the sizes that they're currently at then get the 15 Pro or Pro Max now personally I think I'm looking forward to these bigger sizes the 6.3 in 16 Pro could be The Sweet Spot even though I'll probably end up going with the pro Max version because well it's supposed to be getting a lot of camera UPG upgrades like an even further zoom on that telephoto lens I think we're looking at 120 mm which is kind of crazy and I want to see how those pictures are going to end up now we are expecting a 48 megapixel Ultra wide sensor which should be a huge improvement from the current model the capture button just sounds incredibly useful to me and should make the iPhone feel like a DSLR camera or a point and shoot even more so than it already does and I think if you can hold out I personally wait until the iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max but of course if you don't care about the big camera upgrades and the capture button and all that and you're like listen the iPhone 15 pro and pro Max really have my attention how do you like it I love it I think you'll be happy especially if you're coming from something like a 13 or older there going to be a lot of new features for you that you'll really enjoy but of course I would love to hear from you in the comments down below about all of the stuff that we just talked about but yeah so far so good iPhone 15 Pro Max best iPhone I've ever had obviously and I really like it and I would love to hear from you again in the comments down below this is B with Ma roomers thanks so much for watching and I hope to see you around in the next videothe iPhone 15 and 15 Pro have been out for a little over 6 months now so here's my quick six Monon check-in on how my experience is going so far and whether or not you should buy one if
