The Art of Cooking with Ondo Porcelain Bowls: A Day in the Life of Honeyjubu
As I wake up to a chilly morning, I start my day by boiling hot water and preparing a delicious lunch box for my husband. Today's menu is salmon pot rice, egg roll, pickled octopus, and cucumber, and soybean paste stew. I make doenjang stew with rice water, natural seasoning, soybean paste, and vegetables. The fishy smell of salmon is removed by cooking wine. To add flavor to the dish, I stir-fry garlic in sesame oil and season it with soy sauce.
For salmon pot rice, I soak the rice and then stir-fry garlic in sesame oil. Next, I add cooked rice to the pan and season it with soy sauce. For the egg rolls that kids love, I put them nicely in a bowl. The breakfast is prepared in pottery, reminiscent of the light of the autumn sky. This beautiful bowl made out of porcelain makes homemade food feel warmer and more enjoyable. Even simple side dishes taste better when served in a nice bowl.
As I prepare lunch for my child, Lucy, she loves playing nose work games with me. Today's game is to find all the snacks. While cooking, I make creamy pasta that my child really likes. To make it, I sauté onion, bacon, garlic, and shiitake mushrooms, then add noodles and 200ml fresh cream. Finally, I add parsley and egg yolk, and serve it in a tempura porcelain pasta bowl. Ondo porcelain is a pretty container with the colors of nature that goes well with various dishes like Korean, Western, Chinese, and Japanese.
As I prepare brunch for my family, coffee trees are ripening today. I top ripe bananas on bread with sweet figs and Shine Muscat. Round plates make a great brunch. To go along with it, I also prepare hot coffee in large and stylish bowls. Now you can enjoy brunch at home in the atmosphere of a cafe. After a busy morning, I prepare a late-night meal for my husband who is late for work. Today's menu is seafood pancake filled with vegetables and seafood.
The pajeon filled with seafood is delicious anytime. Delicious food looks even more appealing when served on a pretty plate. It's not easy to find a bowl that goes well with food, but porcelain does the trick for any dish. To make eel rice bowl in a stone pot, I sprinkle the trimmed eel with salt and pepper. The stone pot cooks delicious rice in about 15 minutes over low heat without needing to be steamed.
I use soy sauce as an ingredient to add flavor to my eel rice bowl. Tempura is also a favorite dish of mine because it's crispy when flour is seasoned with salt and carbonated water is added. I make delicious tempura using leftover vegetables in the refrigerator. Thanks to the stone pot, the rice becomes even more delicious. Filled with boiled eel on warm rice, it feels like I'm being treated.
For my husband's favorite noodles, I prepare jeonjeon to eat together. To do this, I add garlic, salt and pepper to the minced meat, then lightly dust the vegetables with flour and add the meat. Next, I serve food beautifully and fill the noodles with ingredients. My husband says he likes noodles in hot soup when it gets chilly. The color of the temperature porcelain makes the table warmer.
Today, I'm making souffle pancakes that are perfect for a sweet treat. To make them, I mix 2 egg yolks, 20g milk, 40g soft flour, and 1t baking powder. Next, I add 26g of sugar to the egg white in three portions. The meringue must be firm to make it soft. Carefully turning over, I bake for another 5 minutes to achieve a perfect souffle pancake.
Souffle pancakes go well with butter and maple syrup. To eat them with hot tea is an added bonus. It's nice to be able to enjoy more deliciously prepared food in the comfort of my home. With that said, let me share some of my favorite kitchen essentials that will elevate your cooking game.
