**Stay Safe This Summer with Pokémon Go and Other Mobile Apps**
As the weather warms up, people are spending more time outdoors, driving, and walking around their neighborhoods. However, this increased mobility also brings a higher risk of accidents and injuries. The town and police and fire departments around the world are reminding everyone to stay safe, especially while driving and walking. And if you're an avid Pokémon fan, there's another way to stay alert: don't drive while playing Pokémon Go.
Snapchat is introducing a new feature called Memories, which will allow users to save their snaps and organize them. This includes a "My Eyes Only" section where you can save your snaps behind a password to prevent snooping eyes from seeing it. The new feature has rolled out to select residents in California with a more widespread release scheduled soon.
On the other hand, some Android gamers are facing disappointment. Cheetah Mobile, makers of Clean Master, have licensed Badland 2 from the original creators, but instead of being released as a one-time purchase game, it's now been converted into a freemium game with energy video ads and tons of in-app purchases.
Meanwhile, the gaming community is eagerly awaiting the release of Titan Quest on Android. Originally released on PC in 2006, Emu has ported the game to Android without hardly any changes. The game features a large open world with over 1,200 items to discover, 80 different creatures to fight, and a variety of skills. With a playtime of over 60 hours, Titan Quest is one of the few action RPGs available that comes with no in-app purchases.
For those who prefer simplicity, there's a new launcher application called The TV. This app tries to make things simple by restricting you to two home screens, but one of them has a universal phone search feature. You can find your apps, games, contacts, and other information using this feature, which is reminiscent of iOS minus the Siri integration.
However, not all mobile gamers are pleased with the recent releases. Square Enix has finally released Final Fantasy 7 on Android after a long 10-month wait. The game features the full storyline and soundtrack without any changes to the controls or gameplay. However, it has been criticized for its rough release and lack of Google Play Game Services.
For those who want to mirror their devices to their computer screen, there's an app called Visor that has just been released to the Google Play Store. When paired with its Chrome extension, this app allows users to control their device using a mouse and keyboard. This app has a variety of uses, from app testing to presentations, and is free to download.
And finally, Pokémon Go has officially launched in several countries, including New Zealand, Japan, and the United States. This augmented reality location-based game was created by the same people who developed Ingress. The idea is that you walk around, capture Pokémon, battle people at gyms, and do a bunch of other stuff out in the real world. While the game has had some server issues and release date bugs, once you get into it, it's actually quite fun.
