The Apple Ecosystem: A Personal Perspective
As someone who has always been drawn to the sleek design and user-friendly interface of iPhones, I was excited to try out the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3S. The phone's upgraded flash is definitely a highlight, and it's a great example of the little details that Xiaomi gets right. However, despite my initial enthusiasm, I found myself returning to my trusty iPhone 7 Plus. The software integration with iMessage and other Apple devices is seamless, making it easy to stay connected and productive on-the-go. While the hardware of the Mi Mix 3S is impressive, I couldn't shake off the feeling that it's just not as intuitive or user-friendly as my iPhone.
One area where I felt a bit frustrated was with the firmware on Android - it seems like a completely different beast compared to macOS, which I'm intimately familiar with. As someone who has built up a whole ecosystem around Mac OS and iOS devices, it's hard for me to commit to switching over to an Android operating system. The 2016 MacBook Pro, however, was a different story altogether. Despite its disappointing performance, I couldn't deny the beauty of the device - it's a stunning piece of hardware with a gorgeous design and fantastic keyboard.
The Apple earbuds are definitely a highlight for me - they're small, portable, and sound amazing. However, there is one major issue: battery life. It seems that the earbuds drain quickly if left in their charging case overnight, which can be a bit inconvenient. I'm hopeful that Apple will address this issue soon, as I've had issues with them myself. Despite this, the earbuds are still a fantastic product - they're great for listening to music on-the-go and have a sleek design that makes them easy to carry around.
As someone who's always been excited about new technology, I was looking forward to seeing some real innovations from Apple in 2016. While there were certainly some improvements made, I felt like the company stuck too closely to its established formulas rather than taking risks and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. The removal of the headphone jack, for example, has been a bit of an adjustment for me - but overall, it hasn't had a significant impact on my daily life.
I'm excited, however, about some of the new gear I'll be getting in 2017. One thing that I'm particularly looking forward to is my new Panasonic GH4 camera. With its 4K capabilities and 60 frames per second footage, I know I'll be able to create some truly stunning content. I've also been eyeing a new monitor - the 5K Cinema Display from Apple has caught my eye, and I think it would be a great addition to my home office setup.
As we head into 2017, I'm looking forward to exploring new creative possibilities and sharing them with all of you. It's going to be an exciting year, and I hope that I'll be able to create some content that will inspire and entertain you. In the meantime, I thought it would be a good idea to do a little giveaway - stay tuned for some surprise updates from me in the coming months!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys 2017 is practically here already I'm super excited for next year man oh man there's so much to be excited for but I wanted to talk to you guys about 2016 I wanted to talk to you guys about 2016 and review how was it headed Apple do what did I like what and not like as a whole how was this year just wanted to sit down and talk to you guys for a little I have it in a while so yeah what did I think about this year now personally on a personal level there's a fantastic year for me guys I grew so much in terms of skill doing what I do it doesn't seem like it's but personally for me going and looking back at my older videos what I did differently I'm still learning a lot going to next year learning more but it was a great year for personal growth now product wise so getting it to Apple stuff we started the year off with iOS 9 some of the later firmwares before going into iowa's 10 and I wanted to mention night shift so I was 9.3 introduced night shift I love this feature still use it to this day it's basically a ripoff of F dot Lux but I'm glad Apple didn't bring it over so moving on one of the biggest releases of the year was the iPhone se II I gotta say Apple great great job this was a fantastic phone it was everything the iPhone 6s was but in a smaller frame and I love this design it's my second favorite to the iPhone 3G and 3GS it's very slim blocky nice so I'm very very happy Apple stuck with this and made it a lot faster the camera is Austin just I hope Apple keeps with it just keep updating the same design I don't I don't even want anything new it'd be nice but this is such a timeless design so I hope Apple does keep it for a while but unfortunately we won't be seeing an update for this in 2017 no matter it's still a great phone so the SE I would say great job Apple no long sigh that was the iPad pro so this year's iPad pro the thing that struck me the most about it was how great the display was and true tone display that was an awesome feature kind of like night shift but better also the speaker's just fantastic speakers we were on a trip in Europe and we would just be walking around with the iPad listening to music when we were out hiking and stuff wonderful this song literally stopped being possessed by something I would just landed in Venice they've got this awesome new snapchat filter and check this out we're literally in the city square got amazing roof oh my gosh so it had so much sound in the daytime it was amazing I mean iPad pro is a fantastic release it's a very very good job over last year's iPad air 2 which was a great release - this one was even better so next year the iPads should even see a much bigger release and we'll talk about that later but I'm very happy with the iPad side of things I'm not happy about the iPad Mini they didn't really release a new one for whatever reason but you know next year they will so we'll get to that the 2016 MacBook I think it's what the original one should have been speed and battery wise it's great I mean I'm very happy Apple has one of these it's pretty much the spirit of the MacBook Air - all the ports and stuff but it's a great product I would say for college students that don't need much out of their mac books this one does the job well so I'd say it's fine so next is iOS 10 I think it was a fantastic release very successful there wasn't like too much big stuff it was mostly a lot of filling in the cracks and missing features here and there overall was a good update I'm just very disappointed three four okay several things um the camera shutter bug I've extensively talked about this some of you guys think I'm overreacting but truth is I've recorded so much footage with it and I'm gonna be doing more of this kind of stuff kind of like blogging vlogging videos where we go out and adventure in then next year and I hope you guys will like that but it just ruins the shot and you don't see it in third-party apps it's only apples so that was really annoying the fact that there is no dark mode on a stock black iOS iPhone 7 for whatever reason I think that'd be the perfect match to change the camera settings you have to go into settings which is super annoying Y and Apple just keeps taking away my wallpapers Y just giving back don't take them but as a whole I was 10 was a great release there were several big bugs couple bypasses it was a good release I'm looking forward to iOS 11 because I'm hoping they'll actually redesign everything this time it's about damn time if they don't I'll be really disappointed actually Mac OS Sierra can't say I've noticed how much of a difference I don't use Siri on my Mac I don't even use it on my phone I can't remember the last time I've actually done it can't really say much bad or good about it it's just it's okay it's there Apple as a whole has been neglecting the desktop stuff so you know I would love to use my Mac Pro haven't used this thing for any serious task other than putting music on my phone but I just keep all my music on this this is literally my my music holder my macro so I'm very disappointed at Apple for that and I hope they fix the next year because I'm editing on my macbook and that's ridiculous I don't want to have an LG display either Apple has gave up on the cinema displays which sucks I love those I love the old ones if they would release a 5k iMac like display stand a little man I'll be a dream come true but that's why I have an LG everyone always asks me why is there an LG computer on your desk running Mac OS not by choice guys and that brings me to the 7 and 7 plus so we knew almost everything there was to know about these phones from rumors and I think that was pretty awesome that gives me a lot of hope for the next year's iPhone because there's so much good rumors about it but I would say overall a pretty good release I'm beyond floored that they actually added waterproofing I didn't think Apple would seriously do it let alone on both e7 and 7 plus I take my phone into water into pools of stuff I wouldn't recommend you guys do it but I just don't worry about it anymore because it has proved in my tests that it goes above and beyond it actually works very well so good job on the iPhone 7 and 7 plus waterproofing the cameras are fantastic you guys know my view on that I've recorded some videos with a men fantastic it's just just that shutterbug good I wish they would fix it what else could I say I love the I love the LED flash it is so bright there are so many times I don't have a flash that on the others pull my phone out and use it to illuminate the way I love that they focus on the little details like that like upgrading the flash so great for that um I wanted to mention it a little update so you guys remember the Xiaomi me mix I did begin using this phone for a while I gave up I couldn't do it I always come back to iPhone because of the software integration with the max with iMessage with just how easy it is to use it is so frustrating learning the firmware on this how a different it is I don't know I'm sure if I really committed to of course it switch over but my whole ecosystem revolves around Mac OS and I so why would I use an Android as nice as the hardware is it just doesn't cut it and I had to switch back to my 7 plus I'm honestly loving it so I'm about to jailbreak it - we've got the glowing Apple logo this is gonna be my dream setup so I'm really looking forward to that the 2016 MacBook Pro disappointing performance wise beautiful hardware man this thing is good-looking I love the keyboard I love the sound of the speakers even though my speaker blew from the whole bootcamp a bug still didn't get that fixed probably should the design is good the hardware is fantastic looking but not performing my final cut results were slow as good as it is my old one is faster the battery life is ok a software update did help a little bit but Apple removing the time remaining on the battery estimated that was ridiculous why so mmm I'd say like it's ok I'm keeping it because of how nice it is I mean it's very beautiful I love the trackpad that helps so much with what I do I'm always tracking back and forth on the timeline in final cut to final cut that's a whole nother thing I love love lovely up to Apple did a great job with final cuts the new black interface it is so sleek and sexy and everything's been kind of streamlined it's much easier to use all the things are in the right place functions great job and final cuts not the hardware to run it though and lastly the Apple earpods so these are a double thumbs up for Apple fantastic so there is an issue with them right now the battery drainage issue you'll leave them in the little case and overnight they'll just be dead I think Apple is gonna fix that they were aware of the issue you know that test I did with the water and drop test oh my goodness they are still working I'm still listening to them to this a day so I was just amazed a water did get in they stopped working and dried them out and still working to this day that is just fantastic so very good build quality sound quality's great I love how portable how small they are grace great product so ear pods I would recommend to anyone but spendy but trust me the quality speaks for itself so I pretty much say Apple had a safe years like a safe bet they did it stray too far from their regular formulas they just mostly updated some of their older products and it's a safe bet it works but I really want to see some real innovations actual progression on the iPhone side because we have the same design for three years I'm okay with keeping the same design but make it make it a little more special at least with the display at least the display that's all I ask so make the display organic LED add a dark mode maybe even ditch the whole button I wouldn't even be mad but Apple did kill the headphone jack have I felt that impact in my life whatsoever you want to get me to my friend's car he doesn't have oxid Apter for the iphone on purpose because he's a samsung guy so I have to pretty much keep my adapter with me for that but otherwise not at all I don't miss my headphone jack at all I'd really like to see some more innovation next year but this year was actually better than last year I'll tell you that there was a lot more I was excited for so looking forward to 2017 guys especially in my new house a new camera gear the Panasonic gh4 I'm gonna go back to 4k 60 frames per second which I beyond excited about because I love 60 frames per second videos I just like 4k a little bit more right now especially because I have the monitor for it I got the 5 K cinema from Apple not saying about the LG one but same thing so it's gonna be a fantastic year I'm gonna be improving a lot and I'm hoping you guys will bear with me on that as I'm transitioning into the new house I'm gonna be making a little update video for three million little giveaway for you I think you guys will like it something different so stay tuned for that but I just want to say have a happy new year guys enjoy it and I'm looking forward to spending 2017 making videos for you peacehey guys 2017 is practically here already I'm super excited for next year man oh man there's so much to be excited for
