Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Review - Massive Screen

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2: A Giant Phone with Impressive Features

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a giant phone that packs a punch when it comes to camera capabilities, shooting modes, and display. The device features a massive 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2240 pixels, making it one of the largest screens in its class. This large screen size also doubles as a large viewfinder, allowing users to get a better look at their images before capturing them. Additionally, the phone's camera system is equipped with a high-quality lens and advanced software features like 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.

The Mi Max 2 also boasts an impressive camera system, including a voice capture mode, straightening mode, tilt shift mode, and more. The device also supports filters that can be pre-applied before capturing an image, resulting in great visuals. With its large display and powerful camera system, the Mi Max 2 is sure to please photography enthusiasts.

However, not all features are created equal. The front-facing camera, which is a five-megapixel camera with an f/2 aperture, does struggle in low-light environments, making it difficult to capture good selfies. Unfortunately, there is no front-facing flash on the device, which can be a drawback for users who frequently take selfies.

Another notable feature of the Mi Max 2 is its massive battery capacity of 5300 milliampere-hours (mAh). This large battery provides up to two days of usage without needing to recharge, making it an ideal option for those who want a phone that lasts. Additionally, the device comes with Quick Charge 3.0 technology, allowing users to quickly charge their phone from 0-100% in just 30 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, the Mi Max 2 supports VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and can also be paired with two SIM cards or a microSD card for expanded storage. The device's performance is adequate for its price point, making it an attractive option for those looking for a large-screen phone without breaking the bank.

The Mi Max 2 runs on Xiaomi's MIUI 8.5 Global Stable version of its operating system, which has been optimized for performance and stability. This operating system provides users with a range of features like dual screens, app duplication, and more. The device also supports advanced features like split-screen mode, making it easy to multitask.

Overall, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is an impressive device that checks all the right boxes for those looking for a large phone with great camera capabilities and long battery life. Its massive display, powerful camera system, and affordable price point make it an attractive option for photography enthusiasts and users who want a phone that lasts.

but it hasn't officially been launched in India and we are not too sure that the company is planning on launching this phone all the me6 in India so we decided to do a review for you guys anyway now the phone cost around two hundred and eighty six dollars to start off with but it's available in a bunch of variants so you can get the full gigabyte plus 128 gigabyte variant which is considerably more expensive we leave links to buying the phone in the description below along with coupon codes and some additional discounts that you can get if you decide to buy the device now custom duties can vary anywhere from zero to about 800 rupees is what I paid and it could be more depending on your customs officer and the region that you are in now if we talk about the build quality of the Xiaomi me max tool if you compare it to the first generation of the me Mac the build quality is far more superior and also the design of the phone looks cleaner and much better than the previous generation one granted that the design of the antenna lines is quite like the iPhone 7 or the seven plus four where it's been located but the phone looks completely different and not like the iPhone at all it does have nice and rounded edges that feel really comfortable in the hand if you do have big hands like mine you will find using this phone pretty comfortable if you have tiny hands on the other hand or on both hands you'll find it slightly difficult to use this big phone now the display on the phone is a six point four four inch IPS LCD display the good thing about it is that it does have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the front so it's definitely impact and scratch resistant in a much better way than the previous generation one the display is a 1920 by 1080p display so you get about 342 pixels per inch as far as viewing angles are concerned the display has excellent viewing angles and great visibility indoors and outdoors thanks to its exceptionally bright screen you do have large bezels on the top and the bottom and considering the giant size of the phone if they would have managed to put in slightly less bezels they could have saved a lot of the size of the phone and could have made it a lot more compact the phone is also considerably heavier at 211 grams which is not light for any phone by any means and it does have a large 5300 milliamp hour battery which is to blame for most of the weight now spec wise it is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon six to five it is an octa-core 2 gigahertz CPU and it does have the adrenal 506 GPU as well as performances son the phone is really fast extremely responsive and you thoroughly enjoy using this device it is running Android 7.1.1 new get out of the box and it continues to get the latest updates for me UI in fact we got to update the minute we unboxed the device so definitely in terms of the kind of software it has the kind of hardware it has it's pretty impressive now whether you're multitasking or gaming performance remains on top and we are quite happy with the kind of outcome we've got with this device so far so those who like looking at benchmark the device does manage to get anywhere from sixty to sixty-five thousand on benchmarks like antutu and get similar moderate to average results on Geekbench and other benchmark softwares but how this translates into real-life usage is really important so the device is extremely responsive and it manages to take care of any sort of requirements that you may have a least from our experience in using the device but the cameras are a good mix of a 12 megapixel F 2.2 camera at the back although you can now get devices which have extremely impressive s stops so anywhere from 2 to below is impressive as far as F stops are concerned but the device does manage to get a good amount of light inside the camera and if you're in well-lit environments we find that the images come out really sharp and with a good amount of color in low-light environments you do get a dual LED flash which does have an impressive throw distance but considering the fact that the device does not have a larger aperture you will lose out on some of the sharpness that you would get traditionally in low-light environments all in all the camera capture capability mixed with the impressive number of shooting modes that you do get including a voice capture the straightening mode which I found really useful along with things like a tilt shift mode to give some artistic effect to your images the camera manages to do a fantastic job you also have filters that you can pre apply before capturing an image and in most cases we found the result to be the large display also helps in becoming a large viewfinder for the device allowing you to get a picture or more detail of the image on the screen before you actually capture it the front camera is a five megapixel camera and it does have an f/2 aperture which means that you are low like selfies will come out pretty good and we would have liked to see a front-facing flash on this device unfortunately there isn't any because if you are in dark or dim environments the images from the front camera are average to poor in most cases now the main camera shoots 4k video at 30 frames per second for video nodes this is an absolute good thing one thing the device is definitely missing is any sort of image stabilization especially if you want optical image stabilization for video this device does not have any of that so if you have shaky hands just like me you will have to struggle a little bit to get a nice video capture now just as the case with the original may max the me max to does have a large 5300 milliamp hour battery and if you are an average to a normal user you will find yourself getting through about 2 days of use without any problems whatsoever the giant size of the phone and the giant battery go hand-in-hand in delivering a good power output you do have a quick charge 3 enable charger inside the box allowing you to get really quick charging times from the device as far as screen on times are concerned anywhere from 6 hours with extremely heavy use to up to 10 hours with moderate to light use you can get from this device and you thoroughly enjoy the consumption experience that you get thanks to the large screen of the phone my sorry phone calls in capability is concerned the device does support vo LTE or voice over LTE and if you get the variant from China you can pop in GSM as well as CD MSM cards in that so you will have an option to get both when and if it does launch in India you'll only get the GSM options and it will not support CDMA SIM cards due to licensing issues now Xiaomi has really cleaned up the user interface it's much faster and much more responsive than before the Xiaomi me max 2 does run 8.5 dot 2 stable global variant of the me UI operating system and you will find that it is a extremely stable and some of the shortcuts and options that you would traditionally get on show me my operating system based devices work really well on this as well so things like a dual screen where you can simply have a completely different operating system or a different user login as a second screen so that you can have certain apps on one install of the operating system and completely different apps on the second install as well as things like duplicating apps so if you do have two sim cards in there you want two instances of works app running on both sim cards you can do that on this device you can also have two instances of Facebook most of us if you are working we have multiple accounts one for our businesses one for our personal use and that can work really well on these dual app devices especially with the me max now in conclusion the me max is a giant phone for people who like big phones the screen is fantastic performance is adequate for the price the phone is available at and it does a pretty good job of clicking pictures as well as video which is what most people like doing nowadays another good thing about the device is the giant battery will last you about two days and this is a good replacement for those who don't want to buy a separate tablet and a separate smartphone the fact that it does take in two SIM cards and it also accepts a micro SD card is definitely a boon and if you are looking for that one CDMA capable phone you can get this device imported from the link in the description below and it will work with CDMA SIM cards as well in case any of you still have those around all in all for the big phone buyer this is possibly the best option that you can get again in this price bracket it doesn't get better than this that's our review if you have any questions or queries do drop them in the
