My Room Tour: A Personal Oasis
As I sit in my bedroom, surrounded by the comforts of home, I'm excited to give you a tour of this personal oasis that's been a labor of love for me. From the moment you step inside, it's clear that this space is more than just a place to rest and relax – it's an extension of myself.
To start, I have a little secret: my room has a special layer of protection. Every time someone new comes over, they're often surprised by how cozy and inviting it feels. But what they might not notice is the tiny layer of dirt and grime that's been carefully applied to the walls – yes, you read that right! It's a delicate art form, really. I use this special technique to create a unique texture that's both soothing and Instagram-worthy. And let's just say it's become one of my favorite features in the room.
Of course, no room is complete without some beautiful decor. One of my favorite accessories has got to be the fake plant on my bedside table. It may seem like an unusual choice, but trust me when I say that this little guy adds a touch of whimsy and personality to the space. And let's not forget about the stone coaster – it's become one of those little quirks that make my room feel uniquely mine.
My mom gave me that special stone coaster as a gift, and it's been sitting proudly on my bedside table for years. It may seem like an ordinary item, but to me, it represents something much deeper: a reminder that sometimes the smallest things in life can bring us the greatest joy. And speaking of small things, I have this little shelf tucked away in one corner of the room – it's become my own personal treasure trove.
I haven't actually found a functional use for this shelf yet, but I know it'll come in handy eventually! For now, I'm happy to just display some beautiful decorative items that bring me joy. One of those items is this lovely glass terrarium type thing filled with bubble lights – I got it from TJ Maxx and just love the way it catches the light in the evening.
I also have a vintage camera on my shelf – it belongs to my grandfather, and I've always been fascinated by its history and significance. Even though I don't know how it works, there's something special about having this piece of family history in my room.
Next up is the drawer – or should I say, the "draw-er"? Okay, I admit it, I'm a little embarrassed about how I pronounce this thing. But seriously, it's become one of those quirky features that make my room feel like home. And speaking of quirks, have you ever seen someone open a junk drawer and just... wow? Yeah, that's me.
Finally, there's my bed – or rather, the bed I share with my sister (and her dad). We pushed two beds together to create a cozy nook that feels like its own little world. My duvet covering is from Target, but what really sets this space apart are the three main components that make up my bedroom decor: the tapestry, the pillows, and the photos.
The first thing I notice when looking at my room is the beautiful tapestry that hangs above my bed. It's a gorgeous design by Monoprice – I deliberated between so many different options before finally settling on this one because of its intricate details and contrasting black and white colors. Plus, it's just such a cool way to hang some favorite quotes or phrases!
My pillows are another favorite feature of the room. As someone who's always been drawn to rope textures, I have a few special pillows that bring me joy every day. The first one is a great wave design in black and white – I got it from Redbubble, and I just love how it catches the light.
Next up is my "Sorry, I only date demon hunters" pillow – it's become one of those quirky conversation starters that always sparks some fun debate! And let's not forget about the foam Julian pillow – it says "I have no regrets and will drink to that!" which just feels like me.
Last but certainly not least, there are my three favorite pillows that say something profound. The first one is an Infj quote from Redbubble, which speaks to my Myers-Briggs personality type in a way that feels both personal and universal.
Finally, I have this lovely London embroidered pillow – it's another favorite find of mine from Bed Bath and Beyond. And last but not least, there's the wall of photos that adorns one entire side of the room. This is where things get really special – I love taking photos of people and places that are important to me.
As you can see, this wall of photos is more than just a collection of memories – it's a reminder of all the amazing friends and experiences that make life worth living. And yes, I do have some photos of my YouTube friends who live all over the country (and even world!) – they're like family to me.
In conclusion, my room tour has come to an end, but I hope you've enjoyed peeking into this little slice of heaven. It's not just a place where I rest my head at night – it's an extension of myself, a reflection of who I am and what makes me happy.
